Sept. 10, 2006, 9:38 a.m.Typical. If they can't win on their own merits, they sling mud until they've made themselves look good by comparison.
Have they no shame? I guess not. The 2004 "Swift Boat" attacks should have taught us that.

Sept. 10, 2006, 10:24 a.m.The polarization is hurtful to all of us, helps only the politicians who help themselves, not us. The Swift Boat ads were the most disgraceful political acts since similar tactics against other war heroes like Dole, McCain and McClellan were used. and by the same peole for the same guy - Bush. He is a disgrace to the country he never fought for.
I never get a response from anyone on the right about those four names mentioned above and I've mad the point countless times.

Sept. 10, 2006, 10:55 a.m.Looks like it will be a good year for the Dems, all the rest have proved to be lazy, unscrupulous, hate mongers who are like a bunch of lemmings following the Bush-Cheney lie.

Sept. 10, 2006, 11:38 a.m.Ok Scott-O-Rama ------ wanna bet that old Hillary won't have her BIG guns out. Remember, she had all those FBI files on everyone in Washington in her apartment. She has more dirt to dish out than anyone. So let's pass the DIRT around, ok?

Sept. 10, 2006, 1:21 p.m.I live in a red state that the dems conceded in the last national convention so the only political commercials I saw were the ones that said Kerry flip-flopped and voted 240 times to raise taxes - right up until the voting. Many of these commercials were supposedly pulled nationally for their deception. For example Factcheck.org said Kerry only voted about 40 times to raise taxes, normal for a Democrat in office as long as he has been. What gross lies from the Party of Corruption - and more to come. No wonder Reagan vetoed the Truth in Tlecommunications Act in '87 to permit the side with the big bucks and the owners of the major media to blugeon Americans with their distorted truth.

Sept. 10, 2006, 1:59 p.m.Like the Democratic minority in Congress has been playing straight?
They have not been 'fighting dirty', muckraking, obfuscating and name calling for the last 6 years? Please!
Look at the articles here on Netscape! Mostly a long liberal smear campaign against Republicans!

Sept. 10, 2006, 2 p.m.The sad fact is that the GOP is great at winning elections, they just don't know what to do once elected.

Sept. 10, 2006, 2:13 p.m.Of course U nimrods are going to believe this and then just shut your mind to the converse. Let me guess, U believe that the dems are not going to use the same methods and play it clean. That they are going to play it clean and fair and come out looking like angels. U morons need to quit watching the wishful thinking channel. U need to show you have more than a couple of functional brain particles. None of U realize what fools U R making yourselves look like.

Sept. 10, 2006, 2:56 p.m.The only thing that dems can agree on is that they will say ANYTHING to TRY to make republicans look bad. When are they going to parade Honi Jane out on the stage?
They could always have a Kennedy stagger out on the stage!

Sept. 10, 2006, 3:28 p.m.Bobcat,
Thanks for making a fool of yourself by your ignorant comments. Yes, look at real Republican Presidential history: Watergate, Iran-Contra, Criminal Indictments of how many Bush supporters/staff members, Two Supreme Court decisions against bush for violating laws, etc...
And all you have on the Dems is a President with a sexual dereliction that didn't cost lives. What hypocricy!

Sept. 10, 2006, 3:30 p.m.Either party will try to throw mud. It has been going on for centuries. Each group tries to smear the reputation or intentions of the other. If the postings here are anything to judge by, the Left will throw more dirt and lies than the conservatives.
afterglow makes a good point.

Sept. 10, 2006, 4:03 p.m.Sad. Be nice if we could turn on the radio in October and not hear this nonsense. But I doubt it. Its bad when either side does it but the conservatives have made it a pillar of their approach i.e.Karl Rove, Lee Atwater who had the decency on his death bed to apologize. On the other hand it works. Adlai Stevenson once said "The American People get the politics they deserve." If we want it to stop just stop voting for the nimrods that put this stuff on the radio. Their names are on it. Be nice if in the primary voters would ask the candidates if they will forego negative advertising if they are selected. Who knows might help.

Sept. 10, 2006, 4:20 p.m.tagaman - good initial point about both sides. My findings, just me, have indicated the right does a little better job at mud slinging than the dems. Look at what they did to Dole, McCain, McClellan and Kerry. Explain that for me, please. and I haven't seen you using insults but on these sights it is mostly right wingers who insult. Look at your cohort Afterglow who lays out two put downs and then you praise them. Neither of Glow's remarks are in any way pertinent or representative of the Democratic Party.
dlsawyer - You never answered my questions about calling me a punk.

Sept. 10, 2006, 4:40 p.m.Sawyer,
No one does obfuscation better than Rumsfeld... and sometimes you can't tell what Dubya is saying. Dubya on the Energy Bill that eliminated any restrictions for ownership across the various energy commodities (Anti-monopoly Act for the 1930s): "We need an energy bill that encourages consumption." What did he say?

Sept. 10, 2006, 4:53 p.m.The Republicans are much better at using dirt and nonissues like family values or gay marriage. The most disgusting thing is that the American people are so easily duped.

Sept. 10, 2006, 4:57 p.m.Donald
The number of indictments and convictions of the Bush team are miniscule. If you really want to see a long list of convictions, just look at the Clinton record, as I recall there were dozens of indictment and convictions. Including Slick himself. In fact he was disbarred in his home state for his Felony conviction.

Sept. 10, 2006, 5:04 p.m.Blackeye
Family values and Gay marriage - a nonissues
That shows how little you really know about the voters in this country. This type of condescension is why you can't elect your elitist Liberals like Algore and Kerry.

Sept. 10, 2006, 6:09 p.m.The reason Clinton has so many convictions against him is that the Republicans spent over 80 billion dollers dogging him with useless ivestigations that turned up mostly nothing. Bush, enjoying his Rebulican majority has had no such constant legal hassling.

Sept. 10, 2006, 6:16 p.m.Well dang! Who was expecting adult conversation from CONS about the issues? Talk about 'preaching to the choir', I don't understand why anyone feels they need to say CONS will 'fight dirty.' It's what they do. It's who they are. It's all they know.

In the spirit of keeping liberals honest, let's take our hits for Clinton having signed a bill to deregulate the media even more. Of course we all pay for that, by being propagandized from one 'side' or the other.
