Sept. 11, 2006, 12:36 p.m.I can tell you that however you think Bush may have "tortured" prisoners it was absolutely nothing compared to the way Saddam utilized torture. The two are not even comparable by any means. If you equate them it is simply because you are unaware of the facts.

Sept. 11, 2006, 12:52 p.m.After watching last nights 9/11 ABC documentary, it just reinforced my vote for George Bush. Liberals can not be trusted with the security of this Nation. Clinton was totally ineffective in the war on terrorism.
In reading the above posts it occurs to me that most of you are probably terrorist sympathizers or the usual hate America Liberals.
Thank God for President George Bush.

How do you know how bush tortured prisoners? And you talk about being unaware of the facts? Are you so deluded to think that you know what goes on behind those closed Gitmo doors? Or are you the one over there doing the torturing? The established international treaty, designed to protect OUR troops if ever captured, is being violated by bush. If he's got nothing to hide, why does he hide it? If he's conforming to international accepted rules on prisoners, why does he hide it? The truth is, you dont know what you're talking about - just more wishful thinking with eyes closed to reality

Your posts and name calling are disgusting. The reason I don't want Liberals in control of our security is that they have proven they can't handle that responsibility.
As I've said before, people like you can never name one time their rights have been violated. It is always this sweeping indictment of Bush and the Patriot Act. Or some other perceived illegal action he has taken.

Vote Democrat in November so the warmongers will have to answer to Congress and the American people and not the other way around.

Sept. 11, 2006, 1:25 p.m.The current Executive branch obviously thinks that they can put into effect any law that supports what ever they want regardless of legalities and the Constitution. Howard Dean said in an interview yesterday, and I agree, "The Constitution is the only thing separating us from them" We must not allow Bush and his cronies to continue to erode our civil liberties and well respected laws for the sake of personal properties, foreign lands, and corporate profits.

If you believed all of it, check the sources and screenwriter interviews. It's flawed and misrepresentative of what actually happened. Pure propaganda.

So Are you going to watch part 2 so you can give a fair and balanced opinion, or just comment on part 1 showing the things that the Clinton Administration didn't do. Grow Up and Be Fair
We ALL have to work together to make OUR country a BETTER place to live.

Sept. 11, 2006, 1:34 p.m.Considering that President Bush already committed the crimes and wants to have the laws and/or acts amended, does this change the fact that it was illegal at the time? Even if they were amended, wouldn't he still be held accountable for all acts committed before the amendments? If not, does this mean that all people convicted of these crimes would no longer be guilty?

Sept. 11, 2006, 1:39 p.m.It is a good thing that Congress moves so slow and perhaps will not give Mr. Bush immunity from the law that he swore to uphold and defend when he took office. He believes he has the right to ignore the parts of the Constitution that he doesn't like as well as the laws established by Congress that every man in the military has sworn to defend. Bush is not fighting the war against terrorism because the terrorist are financed by big oil indirectly. Look at how their profits have increased. Bush will pull the troops out of Iraq when big oil tells him to. And Bush is flying around the country telling the people he is right and everyone else is wrong. And he is flying at our expense to deliver his political message. Perhaps he'll be the first American President tried as war criminal. Let's hope he is the last as well. The American Way has always been for truth and justice. Even in war those two principles have eventually won out.

It wasn't a war until Bush did notthing as President and let 911 happen. Clark was trying to brief the Pres and his cabinet since day one of the administration. Dubya finally came off vacation and got the PDB, titled: Ben Laden determined to attack inside the US, a month before 911 and twidled his thumbs until 911. Finally, to call good Americans "terorrist sympathizers" only shows your rampant polarization, even redicalization.
The point in this article is that Dubya violated national laws in addition to international conventions/laws. He made the terorrist threat a war to assume powers he didn't have under the commander and chief guise.

Sept. 11, 2006, 1:44 p.m.Just because someone lives in Iraq doesn't mean they are a terrorist and should be subjected to cruel and inhumane torture in a secretive prison that no one knows about except the torturers. This isn't being sympathetic, it's called being humane and torture is a very inhumane practice. Torture doesn't lead to valuable intelligence information anyway. If someone is being tortured they'll lie and say what ever the hell they need to say to stop the torture. Then all you have is a bunch of lies and still no good information. I'm all for capturing and killing the real terrorists but torture is rather barbaric and does nothing to stop terrorism.

Sept. 11, 2006, 1:48 p.m.In response to farmerman and anyone who doesn't know what its like to have your rights violated, all I can say is that it is you that should grow up because you obviously haven't experienced enough to make you a grown up. You obviously aren't black or any type of minority because I know they have their violated all the time. You obviously aren't American with a foreign name, having to deal with always being questioned and profiled just because of your name.
You are obviously just a generic white male who lives in the mid-west that has never had to deal with the real world that exists outside of your comfort zone. So in response, I think it is far worse to fool-heartedly think that you are grown up rather than to have some growing up to do. Afterall, we never stop growing. Just some choose to grow in ignorance.

Don't think for a minute that torture won't give you good information. The reason torture is used around the world is because it works. By the way what were the torture techniques we used?
And as I posted earlier, here we have another Liberal complaining about his rights being trampled. Please give me ONE instance of where you personally were denied your rights by this administration. Don't worry I don't expect you to answer.
