Oct. 25, 2006, 1:36 p.m.America needs more of Olberman to help counter that insipid cesspool of misinformation from the other network.
More of Keiths "special reports" can be found at msnbc.com.
or you can watch live on Countdown every night primetime on msnbc

Oct. 25, 2006, 12:55 a.m.Pronunciation: 'ter-&r-"i-z&m
Function: noun
1 : the unlawful use or threat of violence esp. against the state or the public as a politically motivated means of attack or coercion
2 : violent and intimidating gang activity -ter·ror·ist /-ist/ adj or noun -ter·ror·is·tic /"ter-&r-'is-tik/ adjective
I think that the GOP meets these standards. If the GOP was a nation state the State Department would have to put them on their watch list of terrorist states.

Oct. 25, 2006, 1:58 a.m.One thing you can say about Olbermann is that he doesn't pull any punches. He points out the republicans strategy of fear tactics that has been used for the last two general elections and their attempt to use it again this year on the gullible.

Oct. 25, 2006, 3:54 a.m.I just find it amazing that somehow, Bin Laden's message is being broadcast on American TV into American homes using American money. No matter which party you support I don't see how you can say this is a good idea. This man's only goals are to affect our live negatively using attacks and the threat of attacks and here is the GOP helping him to spread his threats. No matter their intentions, be they noble or sinister, in this case their results are hurting America.

Oct. 25, 2006, 8:22 a.m.Wondered how long it would take to appear on here.
Watched it live and it really upset me that those images are being used politically by a party in this country.
I would be equally upset if it was the democrats doing this, but as expected here is our buddies the republicans following Carl Rove methods again. Forget the truth, forget you are doing nothing (remember our ports and borders are still wide open) and then simply try to scare the people into submission to your ways.
At that hour of the night I often find myself flipping between Olberman and O'Reilly. More and more I spend time with Olberbman because at least he is honest and tells you when it it commentary and his opinion. O'Reilly hides the fact that something is opinion behind the way he deals with his guests and that biggest untruth of all 'no spin'. He gives you the neocon spin almost all the time on his show.

Oct. 25, 2006, 9:29 a.m.You are not alone! Olbermann's ratings are rising while BillO's are headed for the dumper! Keith also gets his point across without screaming at or demeaning other people. As I recall, Olbermann hasn't been sued for sexual harassment like O'Reilly either. MSNBC, M-F 8pm & Midnight eastern.

Oct. 25, 2006, 9 a.m.Based on the last Olbermann news about his bedroom hijinx, the juries still out on whether or not "he's the man"....
Keep in mind he IS a news person which means he'll jump on whatever bandwagon is passing through at the time....heck he'd even report sports if the money was right.....
-

dr-don-from-denver
Oct. 25, 2006, 9:35 a.m.His "bedroom" reports were published in the New York Post--a right wing scandal rag. Besides, since when did anything sexual have anything to do with one's powers of astute observations? I mean - how about Truman Capote and Ben Franklin - opposites in many ways, but both great observers of our human condition!

Oct. 25, 2006, 9:16 a.m.I beg to differ but Olberman is not the man. He is just another soldier in the Secular Progressive army funded by George Soros and spearheaded by the liberal media. Their aim, to change our culture to be more like the Europeans. These people want open borders, rehab for sex offenders instead of jail time, they want to suppress our religious freedoms and raise our taxes to support the "poor".

Have you ever wondered why someone would lie to you, so you give them your money to spend on their products? That product being war and big business. We all can make a living without killing the 'other' and destroying the country's resources.

Oct. 25, 2006, 12:36 p.m.These people want open borders, rehab for sex offenders instead of jail time, they want to suppress our religious freedoms and raise our taxes to support the "poor".>>>>>>
Open borders? Got a link for that? But speaking of open borders, how come the cons ignored it for FIVE YEARS??? How many terrorists ya think came waltzing through in that time? How come they ignored it until Americans made it an issue? Hmmmm? Think they're doin a fine job, do ya?
But about the poor: Conservative states are among the poorest in the nation. Liberal states among the richest. Poor states get more in federal spending than they pay in. Rich states get back less than they pay in. Hell, liberal states are bankrolling the federal government, and in turn, subsidizing conservatives! Fine with me.....you cut those those taxes! LMAO!

Do your religious freedoms reduce the religious freedom of others?
What liberal media? Is there is a liberal media, how come this man is the only one drawing your fire?
Why not raise taxes to help the poor? Why not tax corporate leaders more heavily to suuport social security and help the poor?

Oct. 25, 2006, 4:25 p.m.Europeans get healthcare. Europeans sign actual employment contracts. Europeans have more than two parties to choose from and most PM's can be removed from office with a vote of no confidence. Europeans get 30 days of vacation.
A month of vacation, government subsidised helath and day care and my employer to be forced to pay me should some CEO give himself a "golden parachute" at the expense of my job.
That's all bad stuff, right?

Oct. 25, 2006, 5:53 p.m.Son, you seem to be able to ably put forth the empty talking points for the, uh, how did you label your villian? Oh, yeah, Secular Progressives...Now that you have a label, you can start the round up and, um, purification, right?
Now, let's see what your, how shall I put it, Religious Regressive policy stants up to a simple philosopher like, um, Jesus.
Open Borders - were economies near equal (which they are not) what would be the problem. Freedom is the goal right? If economies are not equal, why not assist to raise the poor economy (you know, help the poor)? Besides, you seem to forget the old hardon dream of Manifest Destiny...Shouldn't we annex those huts in Mexico?
And what, your caste wants to suppress religious freedoms by making your Cult the State Religions - Hah!
And about helping the poor...I'm sure Jesus didn't care about them as much as he did his capital gains...right?

Oct. 25, 2006, 9:59 a.m.Padre--Then we:
1. Get rid of Bush/Cheney for failure to uphold and defend the C as they swore!
2. The government allows all members of a well-regulated militia to keep and bear a musket, per FF's. All other firearms come under strict control.
3. Eliminate Federal funding for faith-based programs.
etc.
The fact is, our "Founding Fathers" were never of one mind about anything except for their dislike for the policies (mostly economic) of their British rulers. Our consitiution was a magnificent compromise among a group of widely diverse people. They regognized that the world would change in the future. That's why they allowed for amendments.
I'll bet they would agree on one thing if they were alive today: They be appearing on Olberman's Countdown screaming about Bush's excesses of power every day!!

Pre-teen butt-pirate? For a small sum, buy your way out of hell after putting a 10 year old there in your place!
We'll even give you a better job in a more scenic local if you work for us!
You do realize that someone molested by a priest might be reading your 'irrelevant' comment, don't you? I guess they themselves are irrelevant in the face of the Church's reputation, same as it was back then.
SHAME!

I suggest you read Thomas Paine, 'The common Sense' -and also Poor little Richard from Benjamin Franklin. They certainly never intended to have what we have today, where the large corporation has so much more political power than citizens.
The personal implication of Thomas Paine in the french revolution is a good indicator of where he stood concerning church and state.

Oct. 25, 2006, 10:01 a.m.Wow, Olberman speaks the truth in a concise, logical sequential and systematic way. Very easy to follow and clear in its message. I couldnt care less if he was liberal or conservative or other, his delivery and reasoning gives me hope. Fear of the present GOP is our real enemy, and since we can't seem to stop Osama's videos from popping up every election maybe we can stop the GOP from terrorizing us citizens. I mean, we the greatest country on earth can't catch one man, after all this time? Whats up with that?

Oct. 25, 2006, 10:09 a.m.Just more demon-crat propaganda...The only thing that scares me is the Dem's getting back in the white house with a Democrat controlled House and Senate. Add that up and it equals Weak America that is ripe for Terrorist attack...Think not? Then why do the Islamic leaders always support the Democratic party so much! Because they know that a democrat party controlled America will be so busy looking inward that they will never respond to an attack...wouldn't be politically correct. One thing about the Democratic party of late, They never listen and they never learn...arrogant and self-centered the lot...just like Keith Olberman.

Let's see the national debt is almost $9 trillion, most of our allies won't work with us, no-bid contracts for the buddies, the nation thinks this is the worst admin & congress ever, they threw out the Geneva Convention, Jack Abormoff(sp), pedophiles, coverup's, the Iraq war, North Korea has NUKES!!!, etc...

Oct. 25, 2006, 4:17 p.m.Yes because the Republican idea of fighting an unconventional war through conventional means has been SOOOOOO successful. Look at how peaceful Iraq is now! Those cars blowing up are in celebration, don't you know!
Yeah we are safer. Our military is stretched so thin that Iran and North Korea both know that we cannot do a thing against them but talk because we are bogged down in two countries where we have already reached "Mission Accomplished".
Yeah, Kim J with nukes and starting long range missle tests. I feel a WHOLE lot safer.

Oct. 25, 2006, 10:11 a.m.The top two "news stories" on Netscape right now are concerned with the opinions of Rush Limbaugh and Keith Olbermann, two gentlemen whose combined list of accomplishments are much shorter than this sentence.
Doesn't it strike you as strange that so many people are concerned with their opinions? I attribute that to the collective immaturity of the American public.

Oct. 25, 2006, 10:15 a.m."Their aim, to change our culture to be more like the Europeans"
i personally don't see what is wrong with that. i think the first step to change and being able to take constructive criticism as a country is not automatically thinking we are "the greatest country in the world". how does everybody think that sounds to well, the rest of the world? like an american. sometimes it is almost embarrassing. off topic, but anywho....
about olbermann, he speaks the truth in many ways, there is just something about him that bothers me. maybe its those squinty eyes.

Oct. 25, 2006, 12:18 p.m.I agree.
We've become an Al Bundy nation. We're reveling in the glory of our past, but ignoring that times have changed.
Greatness as a nation does not come from just believing that we are great. We must also be respected in the world community. If we loose that, we are no longer great...
Just egotistical.
