The regime in Iraq has been changed. Yet victory will not be declared: not only does the war go on, it's about to escalate. Obviously the turmoil in Iraq is worse than ever, and most Americans no longer are willing to tolerate the costs, both human and economic, associated with this war.

    WHO benefits? Easy answer ...

The pocketbooks of Bush, Cheney, Rice, Negreponte, Halliburton, ALL of the U.S. Oil companies, and the rich elite of this country.

That's it ... the REST of the entire country and its population LOSE, big time.

yup, the typical war profiteers who see no moral dilemma in arming both sides in a conflict. lockheed martin, boeing, grumman, raythein, general dyanamics, UT, bell, rockwell, hughes.

Franklin Roosevelt - "I don't want to see a single war millionaire created in the United States as a result of this world disaster"

and in time of war taxes are usually increased to cover the cost isntead we have a sociopath administration that cuts taxes for the rich.

      i'm steaming.

The whole war for profit thing just doesn't make sense. I definitely think Cheney is a megalomaniac but there has to be more to it than money. Certainly Bush and Cheney were financially set for life before their election to national office. It is more about power, the type of power few have ever wielded. The power to influence history forever. Yet it seems they failed to look at the lessons of the past and that is what has them caught in the current web.

This type of power is outright dangerous for the future of the world. Every new military venture causes further instability and erodes the tiny amount of trust we have within the world community. The critics say no matter, it is from sheer jealousy alone they act this way. Yet one day we may be viewed as the enemy.

Another 8 years of similar American idealogy and the world may get fed up with this continued American ambition. At least half of our own nation appears to already feel that way.

face it though, at this point the US armed forces are being co-opted as an international security force for american oil companies.
