Dobbs: Religion Moving Too Close To Today's Politics

Politics – The separation of church and state in this country is narrowing. And it is the church, not the state that is encroaching. Our Constitution protects religion from the intrusion or coercion of the state. But we have precious little protection against the political...

Very very true, Dobbs nailed it on the head. It amazes me how many people, especially the new evangelical movement are for putting religion into all things government relalated.

What they want, is the very thing they complain about being wrong with the middle-east. religion controlling its population and government....

Interesting how Dobbs and the rest of the liberals only find it in their heart to attack Christians. He espouses support for the Moslems, and any other group, even gives great support to the agnostics and atheists!

Dobbs got busted for going after the Illegal aliens, so now he has to do something to get off the liberal "hot seat." This is Dobbs and his pandering at one of his best efforts. No value, just more "biased and liberal" t.v.

You know what 'knothead', you really are. Dobbs is no 'liberal mouthpiece.' He and his peers have ignored the infiltration of religious extremism for YEARS. You haven't a CLUE of the purpose of separation of church and state. My 'god', how can you be so WRONG?

You are not only wrong, you seem to revel in being WRONG CONSTANTLY!

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, I contemplate with solemn reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" thus building a wall of separation between Church and State." - Thomas Jefferson

Why did Dobbs wait until now to comment on this? Why did he let it get so BAD....like 140 Dept of Justice hires from the third rate Regents University? Where has the media BEEN? The infiltration of religious extremism has been going on for YEARS, & CNN has pandered to it, and even given these nuts credibility. Meanwhile, this small group of people is entrenched, and sorting through this would take more investigation than I'm sure Dobbs is willing to give it.

I suspect that the main reason Dobbs is sounding off on the issue is because of this paragragh within his article;

'The nation's religious leaders seem hell-bent on ignoring the separation of church and state when it comes to the politically charged issue of illegal immigration. A new coalition called Christians for Comprehensive Immigration Reform Wednesday will begin lobbying lawmakers with a new advertising and direct mail campaign on behalf of amnesty for illegal aliens'.

Immigration has become Lou Dobbs middle name.

You're right, of course. Silly me to have missed that. Dobbs doesn't give a rats &ss that they're trashing our Constitution, receiving hundreds of millions in tax dollars, rewriting our history. He just cares about immigration.

Knothead15 gave George Washington a NEGATIVE!

What a pathetic piece of flotsam.

Misquote? Nothing was misquoted, and your Jefferson analogy above is sub-moronic...not even worth refuting since anyone with a brain knows better.

You're quite the nasty little creature, aren't you? You are to be pitied though since you don't even understand the government in America.

American will only survive as long as the separation of church and state exists...FACT! And if the day comes when that separation fall, and I am still alive...I will leave the U.S. forever.

Of course knothead15 won't believe ANY of this; he is after all Christian, and Republican...he can't possibly be wrong.

rickcb,

That's one reason we need to convince Obama that he needs to back off infringing on our rights guaranteed by our Second Amendment. As long as ordinary citizens are armed, as Jefferson, Washington, and other U.S. founders stated they should be, religious extremists or any other pack of rabid dogs will think twice before doing anything that might unravel our constitution and lead to civil unrest.
