Blair still says that invading Iraq was the right thing to do. By what measure? Because it catapulted Iran into the catbird seat, removing their long-time Sunni nemesis Saddam and putting the Shiites in charge? Because it bogged both Britain and the US down in a conflict that, if we keep following their "stay the course" doctrine, is sure to outlast WWII for BOTH countries? Because it was an enormous recruiting tool for al Qaeda and international Islamic terrorism? Because it drained away vital resources for the Afghan war against Bin Laden -- a war we really really needed to win and that is now looking like a replay of the Russian failure?

Just how was this the "Right thing to do"?

So right ET....either there was absolutely no thought to the consequences of taking out Saddam...or outright ignorance that led to the invasion of Iraq. There have been terrorists in this world since the beginning of time...however Bush gave AlQaeda life, a mission, purpose ....singlehandedly Bush has FUELED terrorism. What if we had taken the billions that we have spent drawing blood and had invested it in our children, education, health care and heightened security at our borders? We would be the nation we claim to be and we would be a lot stronger !!!

There's still John Howard of Australia and Canada's Stephen Harper, both of which need to be replaced. Let's hopw Blair's departure will get the ball rolling.
