House Democrats Push New Withdrawal Bill »
Posted by: TechnologyExpert 1 year agoHouse Democrats have drafted new Iraq legislation they hope will appeal to Republicans fed up with the war: Start withdrawing troops in two months but leave it up to President Bush to decide when to complete the pullout. The vote will come next week, as members take up a $460 billion bill covering military spending for 2008.

"This is when we're going to have a real confrontation with the president trying to work things out.'
Somehow I doubt comeone that is planning to be confrontational really has any plans of "trying to work things out". Seems to me that if one plans a confrotation the last thing they have in mind is working something out, since it is very difficult to be confrontational and diplomatic (trying to work something out) at the same time. And here it sure appears that Murtha is the one with the idea he will not be willing to be listen, he wants to confront the president, not work anything out.

This president needs to be confronted. He's stubborn, and pig-headed. Confrontation is the only thing he understands. A perfect example of that is when he won't listen to Republicans who want a new approach to Iraq. An even better example is the immigration issue where he called his own base unamerican for not giving in to his amnesty proposal. Does that sound like a person willing to be diplomatic?

Everything has begun to look like "professional" wrestling over these last few years. Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.
These clowns have the water so muddy no one can tell where the good guys start and the bad guys end. Hey, Good Guy - Bad Guy! Maybe they are running good cop/bad cop on all of us? Ya think?

Chances of succeeding are almost nil because of the slim majority and the evil in the White House!

I am against the war and the bad choices made to develop the situation to this far out of control.
What is needed is planning and real leadership, not turning and running form the mess we have made of Iraq.
The Black and White approach to the problem only makes it worse and removes all other options from the table.

I said if the Democrats won in 06 they would raise taxes, and cut, and run in Iraq. They have been trying ever since Jan 4th to surrender in Iraq, and that tax increase is not far behind. You can still correct this mess in November 08. Murtha is senile. He is ready for the net, and is a disgrace to the uniform he once wore. He is much toohappy about legislating defeat in Iraq. Our real Marines deserve better.
