"The President Cannot Ignore an Impeachment" »
Posted By TechnologyExpert 1 year, 2 months ago in NewsImpeachment is not merely about Gonzales. It is about renewing the Constitutionally-dictated system of checks and balances that virtually collapsed during the first six years of the Bush-Cheney interregnum. Bush's disregard for the rule of law has created a Constitutional crisis. Impeachment, alone, is the proper response to that crisis.

It's indefensible to allow the continued violation of American privacy, and it's indefensible to treat the truth with such cavalier disregard when talking to the American people and Congress," the congressman says. "So if the president won't do his job (and either seek the Attorney General's resignation or fire him) we'll do ours."

Yeah, even the impeachment of Clinton, which so excited the Press and Capital Hill, was a yawner for the general public. They forgave their Congressmen their excesses, but it's still an embarassing history (no Republican wants to relive those annoying proceedings) and no self-repecting politico wants to repeat it.

THAT would be a laugh-a-thon. I could imagine the Sergeant-at-Arms trying to arrest her, only to in turn be arrested himself for unlawful arrest. The Congress then acts against Bush, whom in turn hs the leadership arrested for illegally ordering the arrest of Miers. The whole thing ends up in a court battle over separation of powers, the wuestion of executive authority of the Congress, Executive Privilege, etc., till Bush gets ready to leave office. At that point he pardons everyone including his administration, himself and Cheney, the Sergeant-at-Arms and the Congressional leadership. Afterwards, he, Teddy, and Nancy meet at the pub and have a good laugh at how they pulled the wool over our eyes yet again.

I am enjoying, no end, watching the pitiful Democrats wrestle with trying to appease their simple-minded by talking about Impeachment, knowing they can't impeach anyone. What a hoot. Come on, children, call your congress person and get that Impeachment started.
