Pew Survey: Clinton and Giuliani's Contrasting Images

Politics – Sen. Clinton is by far the most popular presidential candidate among her own party's voters, but has among the lowest overall favorable ratings of the leading candidates. In sharp contrast, the front-running Republican candidate, Rudy Giuliani, evokes relatively modest enthusiasm from the GOP base, but is as broadly popular with all voters

The fact is that Rudy's pos/neg among the GOP is nearly as good as Hillary's among Dems(84-16 Rudy, 88-12 Hillary). The big difference is Rudy's advantage in favorability among the opposing party (47-53 to 19-81) and among Indies (64-36 to 53-47). Those advantages help Rudy greatly in places like NJ, CT, PA, WI, and MI, and kill Hillary in places like FL and MO. Hillary could still win by holding Kerry's base and taking Ohio, but she could still lose even with Ohio if Rudy snags PA or MI or the other three.
