Durbin is for any thing that gives away the power of the US. Frankly I wished he would move in with Hugo Chavez. I called Obama's office over the Dream Act, which he supports, and I asked the person on the phone how often Obama is in the office. She said "He calls in every day and is here at least once every week." Wonder how long we would last on a job calling in once a day and showing up once a week?
Thanks Z, I will call right now......... we seriously need to get out and campaign/vote these jerks out of office.

Thanks. I held my nose and called both of the Democrats who happen to be Senators from my state. You'd have to look long and hard to find wo bigger pieces of cr@p. But, for what it's worth, I left my opinion. They'll send me a form letter but I'd love to see how these crooks vote.

Thanks ZiegfeldGirl for the headsup on this article. I was just listening to the news and this was the subject being discussed.
I will be calling and mailing a tea bag to all of my representatives in the AM!
Great find zaph, thanks!

I'm obviously going to be the unpopular voice of dissent on this thread...
Americans should have all the freedom and sovereignty they want on their own soil. Once you get out into the open waters, it's no-man's-land. This is an attempt to have some order imposed on it, and to have some laws preventing abuse.
Sure, the royalties are questionable (what benefit will they provide, just paying committee members salaries?), but having to abide by some international laws while in international waters is NOT a bad thing.

The globalists are at it again, trying to erode American sovereignty. The UN will probably make us sign under the NAU.

The globalists? Give me a break! Americans, by their foreign policy, are the biggest globalists. They want the whole world to be able to sell them cheap goods and resources.
The only difference being that the US wants to rule their global empire, while the UN feels (rightly) that rule of the globe should be done by representatives from all nations.
America has sovereignty over its own, but does not/should not have sovereignty in international waters and on the global stage.
