I wonder if Oprah knows that Obama (whose wife is a member of the CFR) is working toward a North American Union, which would erode US sovereignty and make Canada, the US and Mexico one big country.

Membership in the Council on Foreign Relations has become a sort of "seal of approval" for presidential aspirants, and it might be difficult for any Democratic Party candidate to be successful without it. I remember when a comparatively obscure Georgia governor was admitted to that exclusive club. At that point few thought he could succeed in his quest for the highest office, but CFR membership authenticated his candidacy and opened the way for both money and endorsements to come his way. Even more importantly, influential opposition disappeared. He was no longer attacked on the grounds of his international and diplomatic inexperience, and ultimately he won the nomination and the Presidency.

Get some brains, simon.
If the destruction of America is OK with you, that does not make me tired, it makes you a traitor to the U.S. It's one thing to be ignorant (like Oprah), but another to knowingly take part in, or endorse such actions is tantamount to treason.
And just because you make a trite little comment does not make this a trite little issue.

Oprah To Hit Campaign Trail For Obama
Hummm? We know Hilary had 900 raw FBI files on her Republican "enemy list" I wonder how many files she had on her "friends list"?

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and The New World Order
CRF? New World Order? Skull and Bones? Masons?
And Alcoa has a "New" wrap product coming out rated NWOSMB and CRF, I wonder if it's related?
"NWOSMB" has only 1 vowel and it's the "O" Hummm?
It's all about the "O" coincidence? Please

I hope so. I've always liked Oprah, but she knows how to do research. So either she dropped the ball or is OK with merging the US, Canada and Mexico.

It's actually the same thing. Obama, like Bush is beholden to the Rockefeller interests.

Apples and oranges? If she isn't smart enough to check out the background of people she supports on her show, what makes you think she would be any better with this?
The sad thing is that months ago all the talk about oprah was whether she would back hillary as a woman, or Barak because of his race.

cushi - I believe you are the racist here - there was nothing at all racist about my remark about her picking a fraud - btw - the book was about a white guy -
I would have said the same for anyone she picked -even her nose

Maybe she knew full well. It's entirely possible that she has a vested interest in a one world government.

Oprah Winfrey is enormously popular, and her popularity cuts across racial and economic lines. Her participation in the Obama campaign will be an enormous asset to the candidate.
If she can help Obama win in Iowa and New Hampshire, he may be able to thwart the Clinton juggernaut and deny the New York Senator the preemptive close-out she seeks to achieve. Then Winfrey's influence can be useful in places like South Carolina, where it is possible that she may help her candidate turn the tables on Clinton and preempt the party's nomination. Not only is she a useful weapon against Clinton, but she will also help pull votes away from John Edwards, especially in Iowa and South Carolina. It would be a mistake to underestimate her influence. Clinton will have a hard time dealing with this, because any attack on Winfrey will be seen as petty and vindictive.

I really don't think he was ever going to thwart Hillary, nor do I believe that to be his intention. My speculation is that he is only in the race to give it a false air of legitimacy.

Oprah can deliver the black vote to Barak Hussein Obama, but Hillary Clinton is not going to lose her nomination without a fight. If she really has something on Barak Hussein Obama she will use it. Her loyalty is to Miss Hillary, party be damned. If he backs off he can run again some day. If what she has has to do with his Muslim background, and it is provable he is finished when it becones public. We are not in the mood for a Muslim President,

Alcoa works just as well. Oprah is well respected and would increase Obama's chances for nomination, you'd have to be an idiot not to think that. Unfortunately for the Democrats Oprah's support might be polarizing and neither Hillery or Obama would get the parties nod. Interesting.

aniokly, it's amusing how you can turn a story about Oprah throwing her support to Obama into an attack on Hillary.

Who cares what his religion is? What are his morals? What has been his stance on important issues?
I admit, if he were a Westborough Baptist or a Moonee, I might recommend thinking twice before voting for him.
But a man (or woman) with religion can at least acknowledge that there is a higher power, and that's pretty important to the exalted position of President of the USA, so long as they don't pretend to be in direct communication with Him.

Bush: "God has told me what to do."
Responsible listener: "Can you provide a copy of the phone transcript/email/whatever? It's not that I don't trust God... I just don't trust YOU."

So you would not vote for someone whose religion says that they should hate gays and protest at soldiers funerals, but you would support someone whose religion has declared war on us? I was just wondering what your reasoning for that was.
I personally don't think he is a muslim. However the particualr church he belongs too is just as insane as the Westboro "baptist" church. Just look into Timothy Wright's history. Let alone what he preaches.

No religion has declared war on us. Some zealots in that religion have done so, but for the most part they just want to live and work and raise their families in peace.
Just like not all Americans are loud-mouthed blow-hards who worship the almighty dollar (even though it is essentially worthless). And just like not all Americans believe it is a good idea to illegally invade another country to steal it's natural resources.

If such a thing were possible, I would like to see a morally rich Republican candidate and running mate, a morally rich Democratic candidate and running mate, and a morally rich third-party pairing on the ballot.
Unfortunately, I fear there just aren't 6 such people running, much less winning the primaries. Also unfortunately, on top of that they have to have the inner fortitude to stand up to a lot of the morally bankrupt politicians already in government and not kowtow to the pressures that will inevitably be exerted if they try to do the right thing.
I fear (from Obama's campaign performance to date), that although he may have had the moral riches originally, he would be trampled by the pressure and "advice" given to him by those with the Presidential ear. I fear that after being told repeatedly "you can't do that," when he tries to make a change for the better, he will believe it. Unfortunately, I don't know that there are others around that will even try.

Obama finally seems to have come to life in re giving Hillary tit-for-tat (if you'll pardon the expression in this context).
His response to her dish of him for having no on-job experience suitable for someone wishing to become prez was the dry "... My understanding was that she wasn't Treasury secretary in the Clinton administration, so I don't know exactly what experiences she's claiming."
On what planet would Opera NOT back Obama? Let us hope that the sum of O. plus O. is greater than the individual parts. That would be formidable--one hopes.
PS to Ani: stop being a religious bigot.

I will premise my comment with this, call me a bigot, call me anything you like but the truth cannot be silenced. Not for or against Obama but only desire someone refreshing and honest in Government. Now, Racism, nationalism, ethnic favoritism exist so why refute what is?
Lieberman for the State of Israel.
Mormons for Mr. Romney.
Oprah for Obama.
Rudy for the Italians.
The Pope for Catholics.
Evangelicals for a moralist, this one goes to the heart.
The list is endless and if you have the audacity to deny what is you probably adore the Bush's and Clinton's. Unbelievable that people do not accept the outright hypocrisy of ethnic adoring people. Meanwhile most are bigots being biased in one form or the another.
The first step is accepting what is. Oprah is human and so are you.

I'll call you, "Ray".
I believe your correct to say that many people vote FOR a candidate based upon their racial or religious background. I don't think that makes them racist. That may not be true if the only reason you vote AGAINST someone is because of their background. Too bad we can't vote for someone just because we believed that they are the most qualified. Since a lot of us don't do this, we must say they are motivated for other reasons. Hopefully it is because of ethnocentrism and not blind prejudice.

& I didn't use limp-wristed in a homophobic way but rather as a simile to your fairytale outlook.
