Bush was told that the intelligence assessment on a covert Iranian nuclear program changed last August, but they have avoided answering the question of when the president was first informed. That evasion is necessary, it now appears, to conceal the fact that Bush likely knew about that intelligence as early as February or March 2007.

Here is a clue. The Comander in chief does not have to answer to people whose very agenda makes it easy for them to go to Syria to inform leadership on the coming Iraq attack. That is what Jay Rockefeller did in early 2002. He sits on the intel committee. We cannot trust him not to inform our enemies every move we make. So the Commander in chief is the only one who needs to conduct the war. It is on a need to know basis, and enemy sympathizers don't need to know.

There are always "plans" for every contingency. The President did meet with Democrats to talk about going into Iraq, and Jay Rockefeller ran to Syria, and Saudi Arabia to give them a heads up 9 months before it was told to the American people. He should have been put in front of a firing squad, but we don't shoot traitors any more,
