Impeach Cheney Now

Politics – The mainstream media has finally awakened. 140,000 people have joined Rep Robert Wexler's demand for Vice President Dick Cheney's impeachment. Many of us at Propeller helped sign the petition that is forcing Congress to confront an administration that has consistently skirted the constitution and has obstructed justice.

"Now that former White House press secretary Scott McClellan has indicated that the vice president and his staff purposely gave him false information about the outing of Valerie Plame Wilson as a covert agent to report to the American people, it is even more important for Congress to investigate what may have been an intentional obstruction of justice. Congress should call McClellan to testify about what he described as being asked to "unknowingly [pass] along false information." In addition, recent revelations have shown that the administration, including the vice president, may have again manipulated and exaggerated evidence about weapons of mass destruction - this time about Iran's nuclear capabilities."

So basically Wexler is trying to prove that "Impeach Cheney" movement is not some wako fringe group of people so he decided to start this "petition" prove this.

Although no definition of "fringe group" is given by Wexler, and I found no "concrete" definition on line, that leaves us with only comparisons.

Wexler's petition launched on 12/14/07 had 50K sig's on 12/16/07 and 100K 12/19/07 and today 12/27/07 stands at or near 150K. 13 days 150K sig's, fringe yes/no?

Comparisons, 48 hours 124805 sig's for Paris Hilton

33,682 Free Paris Hilton

91,123 Jail Paris Hilton

And that was just from 2 petition's out of dozens. I think we all agree people who care if Paris Hilton goes to jail or not, can be classified as "Fringe". It is also obvious that more people care about Paris Hilton than impeaching Cheney or Bush.

The verdict is in, Wexler and Co. are the fringe.

injest this:

Only a corrupt politician or a hyperpartisan propagandist would come to those conclusions.

Fringe... what a hoot!

Only a minority of Americans would like to see the most hated Vice President in the history of this country not impeached.

MOst Americans have given up hope that this goverment even works anymore.

Only partisan loyalists and fascists would celebrate over the despair felt by the majority of Americans and the world who fears and rightly detests Cheney and his puppet, George.

Apathy is nothing more than despondency dressed up in party clothes.

Please spend all of you time and money on this "critical" issue.

It'll keep all of you in the fringe busy and out of the way.

"Only a minority of Americans would like to see the most hated Vice President in the history of this country not impeached."

IF most Americans wanted Cheney impeached it would have happened. That's kinda how a Representative democracy government works.

"MOst Americans have given up hope that this goverment even works anymore"

Sorry but it does work, and that is why NO impeachment will sought.

The fact that you and your friends think that it is not working is due to your being part of the "Fringe"

"Only partisan loyalists and fascists would celebrate over the despair felt by the majority of Americans and the world who fears and rightly detests Cheney and his puppet, George."

So why haven't charges been filed against Cheney?

After all "IF" the majority of Americans wanted to impeach Cheney, that would gives political cover for the Congress.

Your claims are self-defeating.

Your numbers are completely illogical. It hardly proves that such an investigation is fueled by the fringe. Your numbers simply show that more Americans are interested in celebrity garbage than are interested in seeing this country governed properly. Is that surprising?

Every morning I listen to the group next to me discuss every inane topic available to mankind but they certainly couldn't tell you about neo-conservative idealogy or the effect that it has had on this country. Unfortunately these people will vote. They think it is their duty. Not to be informed but rather simply to cast a vote every four years.

"Your numbers are completely illogical. It hardly proves that such an investigation is fueled by the fringe."

Actually the "numbers" are indisputable facts (although I did pad the Impeachment numbers as that's still on going) and it is one of the few things in this debate that is factual.

Here's some more

As of 12/27/07 we have 2899 days calling for impeachment and not a single charge has been brought forward.

What's your definition of fringe?

"Your numbers simply show that more Americans are interested in celebrity garbage than are interested in seeing this country governed properly. Is that surprising?"

Oh so close, as Spade said:

"Only a minority of Americans would like to see the most hated Vice President in the history of this country not impeached."

Contrast that with Your statement:

"Your numbers simply show that "MORE" Americans are interested in celebrity garbage than are interested in seeing this country governed properly. Is that surprising?"

Spade is saying the majority of the people want Cheney impeached and your saying the majority of people are more interested in celebrity garbage.

And what do you think I was pointing out with my "completely illogical" numbers?

As of 12/27/07 we have 2899 days calling for impeachment and not a single charge has been brought forward, or could say 2899 days crying Wolf, without a single charge being filed.

No matter how you look at the numbers fact is the "Impeachment " crowd IS a FRINGE movement. As you and I (completely illogical numbers) pointed out delusional as well.

Advocating removal of this VP of unprecedented poweer is not a fringe thought. Everything negative action from this administration (aside from Bush's linguistic troubles and Harriet Myers) has been vetted through his office. Even Karl Rove learned he was no longer Bush's Brain just a Turd Blossom to Cheney. It wasn't Bush on 9/12/01 that was pushing for an attack on Iraq. But of course this was the idea Cheney had been advocating since the end of GW1. The neo-cons are the fringe. They just happen to have the power with Cheney behind the throne.

I signed the petition to start hearings days ago. Today I received an update which put them about 80,000 over the 50,000 they first wanted. But even at that, I have to wonder why more haven't signed. It's insane not to demand investigations.

Thanks for posting that; for those who have not signed the petition.

When I ran the original Wexler story about the fact that the main stream media had refused to provide coverage for Wexler's attempt to confront Congress, many members here at Propeller signed up. For those who have already signed up,like myself, we are forwarding emails according to Wexler's request for sustained support.

Thanks again Will!

A petition with throw-aways and multiple signings.

This should pass all legal requirements and persuade the House to hang their *ss's out to dry.

They need to get moving on this because they are running out of time to lose again.

Thanks.

For those of us, the vast majority of americans, who live outside his district we were not aware of either this petition or how to sign it.

I just returned from signing and adding my name to the list. Being the petition is from a local congressman the numbers are very significant and at this point represent around 50% of the number of people living in the average congressional district.

Only a small group of extremist right wing radicals are still clinging on to the irrational belief that Dick Cheney and George Bush Jr. are innocent of high crimes against the American people and our constitution.

To expect to exchange ideas with namecallers and emotionally challenged individuals like Reignman is absurd and pointless.

"Conversation should be pleasant without scurrility, witty without affectation, free without indecency, learned without conceitedness, novel without falsehood.

Does he even come close to anyone of those qualities?

If the President, and the vice President are not innocent of high crimes, etc. prey tell when will the majority in the House debate, and vote on their Impeachment? How about never. You loonie leftists live in a fantasy world.

now, my only fear if cheney was impeached, and then bush, would be pelosi in the oval office. can someone else take her place? or what?

which is worse? cheney/bush or pelosi?

avatar
Reply

Obviously Cheney/Bush is worse. They have shown their desire and ability to inflict harm on the constitution of this country. You might not like what Pelosi says or her point of view, but she has never shown and indication to attempt to alter or destroy any provision of the constitution.

Only the House of Representatives Can Impeach the President, or the Vice President. It is your people dragging their feet on Impeachment. Your Speaker of the House that refuses to bring Impeachment to the floor for debate, or a vote. Wexler knows there will be no Impeachment. He is playing with the leftists, because he can.
