OUTSTANDING!!! Fantastic speech Dicax, thanks!!
The United Nations Human Rights Council is the one that should be censored, not Hillel Neuer. He was brilliant, succinct, and right on the money! Give 'em He11, Hillel! He let them have it!
"...The despots who run this council couldn't care less about Palestinians or about any human rights..."

Cactus - Thanks. I quite agree, I've always harboured doubts as to their sincerity, this speech (and the response) simply proved my thoughts.....
Pathetic, isn't it?
Oh, by the way, wouldn't be the US that's the biggest donors to the UN's funds, now would it ????

It doesn't help the organization when the world's last remaining superpower chooses to condemn the UN rather than try to provide some leadership! Take Bolton who set a fine example of never attending, or of even sending a representative, to any of the meetings Kofi held to improve the UN.
Probably one video take out of context by the right wingers and manipulated as the speaker is obviously addressing the right people at the getgo!

I can see from your last line that you must not really know anything about the UNHRC. Their own president has said they are messed up.
Here, make yourself less ignorant:

But remember, while wikipedia is not a source, it can point you to sources.

Well, given that this is from the usual ZionCon propaganda networks, it has about as much credibility as their "oil-for-food" propaganda screed. Wonder how many of you remember that those who invented and spread the ZionCon "oil-for-food" diatribe were convicted in court of defamation? Wonder how many of you remember who Paul Volcker told us were the real profiteers behind "oil-for-food"? If you are gullible enough to believe anything this site says, you are in big trouble.
The Quiet Oil-for-Food Scandal
We aren't going to hear much about the corporations that paid bribes in the Oil-for-Food scandal because Bush's family, friends and closest advisors are in it knee-deep...

...so does Dumya's track record... bolton and all the neocons... conducting preemptive war for which we helped convict 11 Natzis to hang for... for allowing and indorsing torture for which we hung Japanese after WW2 too! Dumya, the leader whose vile policies have insured we are not winning the ideological war on terror by giving up the higher moral ground!

The concept of the UN is good, but restructuring is needed. At the present time there isn't any alternative to it.

The concept is indeed good. It ain't perfect but it's all we got. The alternative would be to not have an international body at all. Which would allow for fascism to go willy nilly wherever it wanted. Reform? yeah tweeks are in order.

Reproduced below is an excerpt from a speech given by Cabot Lodge in Washington D.C. on 12 August 1919 in which he set forth his objections to the League of Nations
"We would have our country strong to resist a peril from the West, as she has flung back the German menace from the East. We would not have our politics distracted and embittered by the dissensions of other lands. We would not have our country's vigour exhausted or her moral force abated, by everlasting meddling and muddling in every quarrel, great and small, which afflicts the world."
Perhaps if the USA would have joined the League of Nations WWII may have been avoided.
The concept of the UN is a good one, there is room for improvement if not a complete overhaul, but we cannot afford to abandon the concept.

If you would have read my comment more carefully you would have noticed that I said WORLD WAR TWO not WORLD WAR ONE. The League of Nations was formed after The First World War with the hope that it could prevent a second global conflict. Republican Senator Henry Cabot Lodge fought President Wilson tooth and nail over joining the League. The fear against joining was that we would again become involved in a "European" war. The logic for joining was that it would prevent another global conflict. The League was in existence from 1919 until 1924. It closed it's doors eight years befor Hitler won the Presidency of Germany in 1932, and six years later he annexed the Sudetenland from Austria and invaded Poland the next year.
Perhaps if the USA would have joined the League and the League would survived WORLD WAR TWO could have been avoided.

Unfortunately many of the propeller members who most strongly pose as upholders of morality in human affairs and justice for all have not deigned to comment here. Some of them, like Spadecaller, surely ignore this travesty because they cannot find a way to blame Christians. By their silence they show themselves to be just as hypocritical as the UN Human Rights Council.

...and don't forget Dumya firing the former head of the US Civil Rights Comission when she found all those Repug voting anomalies disenfranchising Americans in Florida. Human rights divison of the US Justice department under the Bushies as just been a vehicle for addressing reverse discrimination cases for whites only - what a fraud and American travesty of justice!
You right wingers sure do like to condemn anyone that points out your evils, especially since Kofi called Dumya a war criminal. Hypocrisy maximus from you folks!

Rather than addressing what I said, donald51, you have chosen to comment on a distinct (separate) situation. I also notice that you seem to think that these are somehow "my" evils. I challenge you to submit here any evidence to support that--and don't respond with generalities, be specific about what I have done which justifies your association of me with war criminals.
You don't have to be gentle--just be honest and accurate, and don't beat around the bush (or the Bush).
