Good news for the Obama camp. Should be a very interesting night come Thursday. Zogby tracking poll released this morning shows Senator Clinton up by 4 percentage points over Obama and Edwards who are virtually tied for second. Zogby also continues to show Huckabee out in front of Romney.

WHadya mean. Wasn't the Big DIg enough proof of great management skills?
Wait till the new mandatory health care laws in Massachusetts come unraveled. It was a quick fix that stands lass than a snowball's chance in hell of working long term. Just meant to prime the pump for a presidential bid.

Just about every poll service has a differing number but they all tend to agree that this will be a very close race in Iowa.

I usually don't get involved in political debate because of the hate and name calling, but this is good news to me. Hillary scares me. Not because she's a women or democrat but because she is a socialist. National Health care? Only one of many.
No matter who or what party, no one will ever convince me that power in the hands of a few or a new bloated bueracracy will help. And socialism never works in the long haul. History proves me right. It eventually bankrupts the country to collapse(ex.-Soviet Union).
But let me make this clear, I'm convinced I know what doesn't work, but don't know what will.

US capitalism is when the ssytem is rigged to sluice money to corporate welfare queens and impoverish average Americans. Been that way ever since Reagan suckered us.
Wealth Distribution Statistics - 1999
As of 1995 (the latest figures available), Federal Reserve research found that the wealth of the top one percent of Americans is greater than that of the bottom 95 percent.
From 1983-1995 only the top five percent of households saw an increase in their net worth while only the top 20 percent experienced an increase in their income.
Adjusting for inflation, the net worth of the median American household fell 10 percent between 1989 and 1997, declining from $54,600 to $49,900. The net worth of the top one percent is now 2.4 times the combined wealth of the poorest 80 percent.
Between 1983 and 1995, the bottom 40 percent of households lost 80 percent of their net worth. The middle fifth lost 11 percent.

I think the answer is that there is no one answer. Socialism, pure socialism, is ridiculous. However, caring for people is NOT ridiculous. Giving healthy people welfare for 20 years is ridiculous. Helping people through rough times over a brief period, is NOT ridiculous. Paying more for having people without health care because they end up in over priced emergency rooms, rather than allowing them to get care before things are out of hand, is ridiculous. Using money wisely to allow them health care to catch problems before they get out of hand is smart.
Example: The boy who couldn't get his abscessed tooth fixed because his mother couldn't afford health care. Had we paid the $200.00, he'd be fine. But instead, we paid THOUSANDS while he lay hospitalized with a brain infection, and he died. Common sense. There has to be room for common sense.

I've never voted according to some poll. Especially when I hear the announcer say, " according to CNN's approved poll blah blah', Same on the MSM. If they have to approve the poll then it sure can't be worth the time to listen.
Nobody tells me how, when, and for whom I should vote. Least of all some fool talking head that talks from the region below their belts, or skirt.

BILL:
"I wonder how the 'Hillary Hit Squad' going to handle this."
Actually, the Democratic race has been relatively civil, considering how close the race is. In fact,
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/01/01...
"Dennis Kucinich urged supporters Tuesday to make Barack Obama their second choice in the Iowa caucuses"
The Republican race has been, in comparison, much nastier. But if you want to slam someone for running a negative campaign, by most accounts you need look no further than Romney.
ROMNEY
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/politic...
"Mitt Romney on Monday became the first candidate to run a TV attack ad. Bob Wickers, Huckabee's chief media consultant, called Romney's move a mistake, saying it would turn off Iowa voters."

Or, you could slam Huckabee's unbelievably sleazy move of calling a press conference to declare he's NOT going to run an attack ad his campaign produced, then showing it in its entirety at the same press conference.

I really don't think that a black candidate can be elected president of the United States in 2008. It doesn't matter who he is. I don't think Martin Luther King could be elected president. There are still many people who won't vote for someone because of their race, gender or religion.
I don't like Romney's negative ads either against McCain and Huckabee.

Polls for a caucus, especially the Iowa Democratic caucus are almost meaningless. It'll come down to who gets their voters to the meet. I'm glad a lot of states moved up their primaries so that more people could have a say in the process.

Yeppers, let Iowa decide who they want to vote for and go from there. I have still found any candidate on either side, regardless of age, rage, religion, gender that has made me stand up and say yeah that's my candidate,,, the only one close to that has been Duncan Hunter and he is unlikely to be on the ballot next year

You said it, Klarissa!
At one time, I was involved as a volunteer in polling for a political candidate, and I was given a questionnaire and a list of 400 numbers. When I was done with it, I was completely exhausted - mentally!
The kind of answers that I received did not make any sense at all, but the poll manager somehow got some meaning out of it!
It is like watching sausage making. Once you have seen it, you don't want to ever touch it!
Peace and Blessings!

I like Obama. He's the only one with the guts to take a stand against the war when it mattered. That was before it started. He risked a lot then, which is why I trust him today.

The three top Democratic rivals campaigned in far more traditional fashion, and Obama, Edwards and Clinton combined for more than a dozen appearances before time ran out on 2007. Clinton got the distinction for the last event of the year -- in downtown Des Moines with her husband, the former president.
