RUSH: I'm thinking of endorsing Obama. Well, everybody's asking me about my endorsement. I want to give you a reason why I'm thinking of endorsing Obama. Listen to this.

Barack Obama, ladies and gentlemen, is a blank canvas upon which anybody can project their fantasies, or their desires. You look at Democrats in the audience, and they're swooning. He's saying nothing. He's saying nothing better than anybody in my lifetime ever has. The reason he says nothing so well is because everybody thinks that he's saying what they want. So they're able to project onto Obama their fantasies. If they believe in allowing somebody to marry a dog, they think Obama will support it. Therefore, I would like today to announce a tentative decision, I'm stilling thinking about it, to endorse Barack Obama, since everybody is asking who am I going to endorse, and here's why.

"Barack Obama is pro-life. Barack Obama is a Constitutionalist. Barack Obama believes in limited government. Barack Obama is in favor of health care savings plans. Barack Obama loves free markets and wants to protect them. Barack Obama is strong on national defense. Barack Obama is a tax cutter extraordinaire. Barack Obama makes my leg tingle when I hear him speak. Barack Obama will end the designated hitter rule. Barack Obama will establish a college football playoff once and for all so we will genuinely have a champion. Barack Obama will get to the bottom of Spygate. Barack Obama will offer free beer Fridays. Whatever you want Obama to be, folks, he's a blank slate, he's an empty canvas, and this is the nature of his appeal. Whatever people fantasize about, whatever they want, they are confident Obama supports it, too."

First, Limbaugh endorsed Romney and slammed McCain.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/02/05/rush-l...

"Levin, Hannity, Ingraham and Rush Limbaugh: Big talk radio swings unanimously for Mitt Romney."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ar...

"It may be the best sideshow in presidential politics: the nation's top radio talker trying to take down the Republican front-runner in today's Super Tuesday showdown. Rush Limbaugh has been relentless in his criticism of John McCain."

Then, Limbaugh called himself McCain's most valuable asset.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/02/12...

"Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday he may actually be the Arizona senator's 'most valuable asset.' 'If I really wanted to torpedo McCain, I would endorse him,' Limbaugh said on his radio show."

And now this? Does anyone take Limbaugh seriously? Is this drub-abusing, ass-cyst-draft-dodging, flipflopping, college dropout really a leading Republican mind?

Limbaugh accuses Obama of being "messianic," yet ignores Romney's suspension speech in which Romney claimed to sacrifice himself to save the Republican Party. Limbaugh accuses Obama of being substance-less without consulting Obama's policy positions on his website.

What's most laughable is that Limbaugh's doting reveals just how scared he and other Republicans are of Obama (perhaps even more now than they are of Hillary)--except Limbaugh can't do anything about it now because his only recourse is...McCain.

LOL.

Looks like Hollywood Rush is a bit frustrated with the direction of the USA.

And what about that made you come to THAT conclusion?

Obama - A blank slate?

Not at all. Not by a longshot.

For instance, we'll take the one issue he is clearly "on the record" about.

The Iraq Occupation/war.

According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll from Feb. 1-3, 2008, 64% of americans flatly oppose the war in Iraq, while 34% support it.

Amazing... the same amount of people that support the war, support Bush.

I guess the rest will be supporting Obama.

I just went to the Obama Website and I didnt see anything there to make me excited. He says, "I will end racial profiling". Ok, How? Telling us he will do something without having a plan is nothing but blowing smoke up your ass. I have no plan to vote for this man

I can't see him taking on Iran.

I cant see him taking on Mexico's illegal immigration issue. I bet he cuts a deal with them.

Can you see him with Vlad the mad Putin? Vlad would eat him alive.

C all you people that hate Bush need to realize that at least Bush has some balls. He does things you dont like but he isnt pandering to you. He invaded Iraq and now it is turning for the better. He isnt a poll Watcher like Clinton or Barrack.

That's the kind of guy I want. Too bad Mccain is a poll watcher too but I know he can stand up to the outside threats. I think military and having experience will be key in this election.

I dont want to hear anyone here put down Rush about the military. Your candidates now have never served and your previous Democratic president never served so dont even bring that up.

DL, we don't care what you think. You are obsolete.

Cojones are only an asset when properly employed, senor. To thwart the will of the American people on a foreign aggression issue is a serious failure to control your cojones. And Hill's are bigger than the Bufoon's, anyway. I cannot imagine a single head of state, living or dead, that would intimidate her. You just need to get behind the right girl for the job.

See earthlingerer's post.

Funny that Rush is taking his ball and going home to pout since none of his candidates are in the running.

"Whats this country coming to?"

avatar
Reply

And how is Rush doing that? I don't see him pouting at all. Actually, he's being pretty lighthearted and easygoing in his summation.

avatar
Reply

Renouncing his faith is not pouting?

No candidate worthy of his pious endorsement?

Hilarious indeed.

It seems to me that Rush and his drones are on the fringe.

avatar
Reply

Who's renouncing their faith? And I'm not too thrilled about our choices, either.

I like your new avatar, btw.

They nation is once again awake, and you can feel the shife, rush may be a drug head but he is not stupid, he is moving his cup where the honey is...he does this just in case the dems win, then he can say he had a hand in it.

I think he knows what most rational Americans do. The GOP is done for!He is switching sides right infront of our eyes...he also think this guy is the right guy for the JOB.

The sad thing is they are still idiots out there that cant get their heads out of their asses and see that this guy is the man for the JOB!!! He is Clinton without the baggage!

"It's a joke, ybdog."

If you really are a devoted Limbaugh listener, then I suppose the joke is on you.

Also, you should have classified this article in the HUMOR section. This wouldn't be the first time you mis-classified an article. In fact, unless I'm mistaken you were previously banned for just this offence before.

avatar
Reply

Actually, you are mistaken. It is posted correctly in the proper category. If it wasn't, they would have promptly changed it.

ALPHA:

"It is posted CORRECTLY in the proper category. If it wasn't, they would have promptly changed it."

It's still early. And as I said, you've been banned for improperly categorizing your story before. Looks like you'll never learn...

Apparently, you lend weight to the opinions of this drug-abusing, ass-cyst-draft-dodging, flipflopping, college dropout. As such, the "joke" was on you as soon as you tuned your radio station to Limbaugh's show.

Limbaugh's ignorance is contagious. We're all now a few IQ points dumber for having been subjected to Limbaugh's ignorant, incoherent, and inarticulate ramblings.

avatar
Reply

No, it's not early. The story was posted 16 hours ago.

Sticks and stones and all that, ybdog. And furthermore, who subjected you to Rush's "ignorant, incoherent, and inarticulate ramblings"? Nobody but you forced yourself to do that.

ALPHA:

And how many hours did it take for you to get banned the last time you mis-categorized a submission?

Poor strawman, ybdog.

avatar
Reply

A "strawman" is a "sham argument." There is nothing fake or false, however, about your record of being banned for miscategorizing stories. In fact, even up to now, you haven't and can't deny it.

avatar
Reply

I called it a poor strawman because that's what it is.

At least Rush cleared up one thing for me, he is Chinese! Just kidding, I knew it all along.

If this Rush rant such a joke, why isn't it in the Propellor humor section where it belongs?

I must admit though, it is fascinating to watch Rush put on the candidate straight jacket and draw all the strings tight around himself. With Romney gone and no one left to feed his political fantasies, he's apt to starve to death - which may be a good thing. Afterward, America would no longer have to put up with daily helpings of the fat man's bilious projectile vomit - or the warped minds out there who coddle him like an infant and think it is "cute" when he can't control his spittle. He's cute alright, like a maniacal ego monster is cute. You can say " but he's ours and we love him all the same", but the difference is, you don't want brats commenting on adult things like how to run your home, who to vote for and what to believe. Lord knows we've had seven years with an egocentric, brat president who hasn't grown an inch while in office and that ain't no joke.

IM not shure you wanta go there, MJ.

That reminds me of Womens rights folk sayin, "If you dont want an abortion, dont get one".

What you are advocatin is individual freedom of choice.

WE Christian Cosnervatives dont liek that one bit. We prefer to control everbodys choices.

"And now this? Does anyone take Limbaugh seriously? Is this drub-abusing, ass-cyst-draft-dodging, flipflopping, college dropout really a leading Republican mind?"

Yes, they love rush even when he contradicts himself.

avatar
Reply

Actually, no, since he wasn't being serious.

avatar
Reply

I think he was dead serious, although not about endorsing Obama. What this transcript shows is that his brand of conservatives are scared of Obama because he has captured people's imagination. It is clear from Limbaugh's comments that he would dearly love to have a Clinton nomination because he knows that a segment of the population is dead set against her and it would probably be easier to dig up a lot of real or imaginary dirt on her.

I have no idea whether Obama would ever be able to deliver what he promises, but promising an end to the Iraq war is a thousand times better in my eyes than settling in for a 100 year war with the likelihood of starting a new one on top of it.

avatar
Reply

you're right. rush is serious, especially about his claims re: obama being a blank slate. and obama is the guy the right fears the most since he embodies the change they don't want to see.

but of course rush's endorsement of obama isn't serious. no one thinks it is.

and who cares if you can go to obama's website and see where he stands and what his plan is for each and every issue? who cares if you can simply log on and see for yourself that obama is, in fact, anything but a blank slate.

for idots who listen to rush its much easier to say obama's a blank slate. that way you can write him off.

the blank slate arguement is just another shortcut to thinking, which is rush's specialty.

Candida..

Its the fact that he will not say ANYTHING about ANYTHING that makes me think that....and that he seemed almost giddy when he recieved the endorsement of Ted "Just One More For The Road" Kennedy.

Seriously, I have never seen so many people so mesmerized by someone who only speaks in the most general of ways. He SAYS NOTHING. Sorry, but I want to know his platform, his PLANS, his specific ideas. Are you telling me this is too much to ask for the guy running for the MOST POWERFUL JOB IN THE WORLD to let us know? Huh?

You tell me...why will this guy not give us even the SLIGHTEST OF DETAILS? Something to hide maybe? The emperor has no clothes perhaps? Humm....

Spinning Dave

"You tell me...why will this guy not give us even the SLIGHTEST OF DETAILS?"

Answer: He learned this technique from Roberts, Aileto, Gonzalas, Mukasky, etc....

How are you going to feel having to spin your way through 8 years of having to say President Barack Hussein Obama is a/an (fill in favorite expletive here)?

I bet it frightens you a lot.

Spin on, spin on, spin onâ;¦â;¦â;¦.
