Service Workers Union Backs Obama »

The S.E.I.U.'s endorsement is especially coveted because the union has 1.9 million members and has a rank-and-file that is far more politically active than most other unions'.

This is significant. The service sector is all that's left of a once proud working class in the U.S.

I still have my withdrawal card from this Union somewhere from c. 1977..
It wasn't a long gig but it was a good one, in San Francisco!
I should imagine that its a good fit with Obama and probably was with Bill C.
