Democrats like the Clintons. It isn't that they don't. At this point we all have to realize that Obama has run by far the best campaign. This makes the arguement that he isn't experienced enough seem disingenuous. After all Hillary does have the a very seasoned political machine behind her and is really experienced in the art of campaigning. Yet Senator Obama has managed to win 10 in a row now by significant margins. It's not just that he won, it's how he won. In every demographic imaginable. He describes himself as "a postpartisan leader, someone who can get things done outside the bickering of Washington Democrats and Republicans."

Independents and under 30 voters are supporting him 4 to 1.

I don't dislike the Clinton's either. I respect Hillary Clinton's background & her intelligence. From my perspective, watching this play out, she got caught up in the 'old' ways of politics & didn't notice how fed up Americans are with those old ways. She isn't listening to the people. Obama is. He realizes we don't want any more of the nonsense we've endured for three decades. It's ugly. We're sick and tired of ugly.

Watching the post primary speeches last night it occurred to me that the BIGGEST difference between Obama and Clinton is that Obama conveys the message that:

The movement is not about HIM, but about his supporters.

Hillary's campaign is ALL Hillary (with a little Bill too).

I too, respect Hillary's intelligence and fortitude, but she simply doesnt seem to represent me the way I want to be represented.

Well I guess you guys that are voting for Obama are the extreme libs since Obama is the most Liberal man in the Democratic party now. There is nothing new about Obama. He spews the same Liberal Rhetoric that we have heard for years.

What is he going to do when he comes down off his cloud and actually has to answer questions? I think you guys have another John Kerry on your hands. At least Hillary can provide substance to what she has done in her career and what she thinks can be done. Obama is just playing the game and giving nice speeches that have no weight to them. How will he help our economy? How will he get us all free health care without destroying our economy? How will he get us out of Iraq?

These question need answers don't they?

avatar
Reply

And those same questions are answered by McCain, how?

Unlike Dumby, who got us IN to all of these problems that now need resolution, Obama has pledged to NOT be the Decider. He is trusting, gasp....the people, his supporters to participate in helping to make the changes needed to get back on the right track.

Unlike the unilateral "Im the decider, and I'll determine whats best for you", Obama wants to return to the roots of the country's guiding principles. You know, democracy and all that was pizzed on by Dumby & his clan of delinquents.

Spoken like a true Lib.. I know you want to dodge the Obama questions and now blame Mccain, but this thread isnt about Mccain is it? And what does Mccain have to do with anything I said? I never supported Mccain. My man Romney is gone so what does Mccain have to do with anything on this thread?

You guys are the ones that are sticking up for Obama so Im asking you some simple questions. It's Obvious that the man you are voting for doesnt have answers because you cant even tell me what he will do when he is president. Like I said before, shouldnt you have some answers before you start voting for the guy?

Obama is the new Democratic God. Just have faith in him and you will be saved. Ha... what a load of crap?

And now I get to hear about Mccain again because for some odd reason, you think it helps your cause to not have an answer to Obama's statements. Your not voting for change. Your voting for a man with a nice suit and nice smile.

Obama is the most liberal Democrat? Really?

Can you be specific about some of Obama's positions--on any issue--and show how they're more liberal than those of, say, Dennis Kucinich or Barney Frank?

avatar
Reply

anyone who really believes obama is the most liberal senator in america simply ain't too bright.

the national journal's ranking system is flawed at best.

avatar
Reply

No one really knows if Obama is the most liberal Democrat or not...he doesn't have a position on anything except

he's for "hope" and favors "change".

Keep smiling and waving and you too can be President.

No, that didnt work for Romney.

He didn't smile quite as much, plus he had you guys to persecute him for his religion.

djrevelky and Dropkick:

When you're ready to stop your demagoguery, you can go here and look up everything you need to know about Obama's positions and plans. There's even a downloadable 64-page page statement covering everything in more detail.

http://www.barackobama.com/issues/

But maybe you'd probably rather just repeat what you've heard from your favorite inflammatory talk-radio hosts and worldnetdaily.com than read about actual issues.

Just read his issues page and all I have to say is Im going to run for president.

I can promise you the world too. You want the Whole Universe? You got it. Just vote for me and I will change everything. Lobbyists dont stand a chance against me. Health care? Well its free if you vote for me. Im going to lower taxes for all of you. Hell, you dont even have to work and I will just send you money.

Vote for me or Obama because we are both full of ******.

You are soo use to nothing that when something is placed at your feet you curse it. DamnLiberals, you really do deserve a president that actually can think. One who knows what he is talking about and that can say the word. You are so used to bad speeches that a fine speaker scares you but it's ok being smart is not a crime yet, thank god!

That's actually not true. He has introduced a lot of bills and staked out more than a few positions. Go to the library of congress website and type in his name. Really puts the lie to the radical rights claim that he's done nothing and doesn't stand for anything.

They want to run against Hillary, they stand some chance of winning against her. Not against Obama.

Djrevelky - if you actually listened to his speeches you wouldn't say what you have said. Just by you saying that makes me know you are just repeating what you heard...for crying out loud we made a horrible mistake the last time because we didn't do our home work, go do your homework on this guy and come back and we will talk. He keeps outlining his positions but you are trying to swiffboat him.

The nation is tired of your spin and lies, and come November next you will find that out or you could make an effort and find that out now!

DANM:

"And what does Mccain have to do with anything I said? It's Obvious that the man you are voting for doesnt have answers because you cant even tell me what he will do when he is president."

It is not unusual to cloak the details of domestic and foreign policy agenda during a campaign because the more details you divulge the more your opponents can quote you out-of-context and the more you open yourself up to attack. GWHAYDUKE's comment was less an attack on McCain directly and more of an acknowledgement of the fact that no candidate is going into specifics because it would harm their campaign.

With that said, check Obama's website for his general policy positions. If you demand even more specific answers, then I suggest you attend one of his campaign events and question him directly. Or better yet, donate to Obama's campaign and question him directly over dinner.

Just to give folks a peek into your head; your profile:

"DanmLiberals

I live in a Liberal Hell called Santa Cruz. Besides surfing and traveling I own a concrete resurfacing company. Life is great but I just wish that one day the people will realize that Bush, Clinton, and all the rest of the politicians are all the same and it is all run by corporate America which votes for the American people. Oh ya, and if you have a problem with oil company's, it the people like you and me that you should be pist at. We are the ones who own the stock and vote for the greedy BOD's to make the stocks worth more money."

Whooaaaa.... dont ask questions about Obama. Just be the Sheeple that you are and follow this guy blindly into the abyss.

Sorry for trying to get you guys to think about the issues your voting on. unlike the Obama's I am proud of this country and I dont understand how they can hate it so much until now.

Btw, can I sue Obama if we are attacked and it turns out that the terrorists were using phones that we cant wiretap anymore because of him? Can I be angry when he gives free health care to every citizen and bleeds us dry? Did you know that Health care is our biggest burden on the economy already? Hey and its nice to see that the illegal immigrant sObama supports, are taking jobs from me and not paying taxes while also sending all their money to Mexico. thanks Obama.

I hope he gets nominated. Mccain will tear him apart. The guy is so full of it its amazing. Just like JFK, mr. Affair, all Obama has done is be an icon. Nothing more.

Damn,

It must be a terrible fate that you live in a constant state of fear. What a horrible way to go through life.

Also, on every message board people direct you to the facts, which you seem to just blindly ignore.

And, McCain will lose next to Obama. It won't just be the spanking he's giving to Hillary, it'll be a massacre. I actually like McCain for a few reasons, and I'm going to feel very bad when he has what little bit of integrity left ripped to shreds.

But, that's what you get when you work with people like Bush. As the old saying goes, "You lie with the slime, you rise with the slime."

Obama is the future. This country is never going to go back to 1950 (thank God) no matter how hard certain people (Hello , Mitt Romney, you beautiful loser..) try.

Would he be bleeding us dry while we continue borrowing money from China to pay for a war in Iraq in which we have defeated the former head of state? Would he be bleeding us dry while we pour more and more tax dollars out of the treasury and back into the hands of oil companies and Halliburton? Would he be bleeding us dry while corporate interests hijack our tax code under our current dingbat President?

Will he be moving a FEMA Double Wide Trailer from New Orleans Parish to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Could we tear down the Bush ranch in Crawford and replace it with a FEMA double wide?

Enough of your empty rhetoric, Danm, admit that your man in office is a goof and let him go. While you are at it, might I suggest you go hunting with Dick Cheney!

I don't get this notion that being a LIB is wrong (look the word up in the dictionary). I feel that the selfish would have a problem with his LIB views. However, what he says makes sense, if you really did listen to his speech, and not come in here and repeat the crap you heard, you would know that he put a comprehensive plan on the table. For one he will stop the war in Iraq, and take that 9 billion a month and spend it on the American people instead of lining the pockets of HB and Dick.

He outline his intent I think he is waiting until he wins to put out a full plan, What I like also is that this guy don't speak from something his writers put before him but he speaks from the heart, he believes in what he is saying.

I cant believe that you who brought us Bush twice would have the balls to say some of the things you are saying since when did you grow brains? I can see critical thinking from you now, where were you when he ran our country into the ground? You find your voice to detract from a man with an idea, while voting for twice for one who doesn't know what an idea is. Go to hell you hypocrites!

avatar
Reply

Yes, I've noticed as well that those who brought us this mess we're in by voting with their emotions, now want to critique every last thing about a democratic candidate. And when they don't like the answers, they go back to form with their childish rhetoric. You put it very well.

Not even emotions, they have a hatred for any new approach, a blind loyalty to failed ideology, and a souless commitment to antiquated slogans

Demliberals I see fear here nothing more nothing less - Really, you who voted for bush twice think you have a voice or a right to say what you are saying. You are a waste of time for the most part but since I have some time I just thought I should say shut the hell up stupid. Go do some research on the man and then come back. He didn't get into Harvard because his daddy pulls some strings he is actually really smart. He didn't get to be the editor of the Harvard law review because his dads friend help him he did because he was really smart.

This mess the boy who was president because his dad knew people is leaving us needs a smart man to fix it like bill, that is a smart man did for his daddy.

Mr. Obama my friend scares you because you have realized this is what a real president should look like.

Yep, these are tough questions,no doubt. And they're a hell of a lot tougher after 7 plus years of the disaster that you voted into office in 2000 and 2004. Your questions are irrelevant since you backed Bush and you still are obtuse enough to use an inflammatory name on Propeller. Grow up.

Mr DL - If people felt that Mr Obama was "spewing" they would not be rushing to vote for him.

Your tired old rhetoric is not going to hamper him either.

People may well vote for him for the "wrong" reasons according to the textbook that you read 30 years ago but he's ripped up that textbook and brought enthusiasm back into politics.

THAT'S why people are voting for him and why at this moment he looks unstoppable.

He will need a lot of help and support when he gets to the White House - but doesn't any President? There have been plenty of smart and intelligent Presidents who didn't make it because they didn't get the support they needed from Congress or the Senate or the Supreme Court or all three. If Mr Obama wins in a landslide - which right now looks a very good possibility - he will also attract some very clever people who will be happy to ride on his coat-tails. I'm not sure if he'll need your help but hey - try it, if you think you have something to offer!

And i thought the civil war was fought over slavery, or abolishing it, seems not everyone thought that all men were created equal and not all deserved the right to the persuit of happiness, and it apparently was not a truth that was self evident to everyone at that time.........scarry stuff.

And i love that poster of native american indians where the caption reads "homeland security, fighting TERRORISM since 1492"

I was up until 2AM watching his speech in Houston. I have to tell you the only thing that can stop this guy are whom he picks to govern with him, and us not giving him a congress that has the nations best interest in mind be it DEMS or GOP.

He is dead on with the thinking of the American people, and Hill isn't. I feel the way I did about Bill, when I listen to this guy, he gets it. He really understands what made this nation Great and what it will take to put us back there.

A Concession: I have to say I am shocked, I was quick to say that white America was not ready for a black man running the nation. It seems I might have made a mistake and in doing so, I should say I was wrong, and apologize to all of white America!

Absolutely right. And for that reason, Americans can NOT just get on the political band wagon for an election. They MUST make it an essential part of their lives. It is hardly fair to ask one man to do it all.
