Politics – Eliot Spitzer's tumultuous tumble from the zenith of a promising political career to the nadir of a shocking sex scandal came as no surprise Wednesday as the bright, bull-headed governor announced his resignation, effective Monday, under bloating pressure from state lawmakers and the public.
This is a smart move. Just think...if Bill Clinton had been this smart, George Bush would never have been elected.
I'm shocked the DNC didn't circle the wagons and protect their boy and make him a chairperson. The DNC is very good at protecting their own, even at the expense of the general public.
As to your Bush claim, I really don't think Clinton's impeachment had much to do with Gore's loss. Gore took care of that himself. He was caught lying regularly. The creator of the Internet, the inspiration for Love Story, I was in the bathroom when a bunch of monks donated millions to the DNC. He lost because of too many lies.

Now, if this idiot could've made up a pack of lies to invade a foreign nation, fake some intel and feed it to a gullible legislature, kill about a million foreign nationals, advocate and condone torture of detainees, bankrupt the treasury, and get New York 10 trillion in debt, he could qualify to be President of the United States. Or, he could change parties and qualify to run as McCain's running mate. The heterosexual indiscretion in a hotel might disqualify him, however, since Repukes prefer same sex dalliances in public toilets. Going "hunting" for caged birds and shooting somebody in the face might help with his popularity also. Admitting he was wrong would be his biggest GOP disqualifier.

George Bush got "elected" because a lot of extremely poorly educated people (including the 29% who still support him) wanted a leader (literally someone who would lead them around by the nose and tell them what to do) and someone who would "bring honor back to the White House." And I think everyone knows what a horrifying debacle THAT mindset got us into. ;-(
He got elected because Conservatives thought they were reelecting a Conservative. Unfortunately, in light of his spending, they weren't. It had nothing to do with uneducated voters.

Actually there is another 50% of severely brain damaged Americans. They are called liberals or a better name would be Krushev's puppets. When Krushev visited us about 40 years ago, he told us to our face that they would take over the USA without firing a shot. Senator Bruno was within the law, in regards to the investigation that Spitzer mounted against him. The obvious candid plan of the Governor was to get rid of the Republican majority in the Senate, so that he could push through his liberal agenda in the Legislature.

An investigation is to determine if someone's within the law. It's the job of an AG or DA to bring cases to bear against those that may have transgressed law. It's not unethical, it's simply how our country works.
You know I was talking to a friend this morning, trying to figure out just what a prostitute could do that would be worth over $4000. The only thing I could come up with is that it is a status symbol. Hey look I can drop $4000 plus traveling expenses to have some one come down here and service my needs!

The story you're mentioning had way too much fluff, pardon the pun. I tried to find out where their stats came from or how large a study group they polled from. None of that is available, or at least when it was released in our city. One item that made me question the whole thing was the spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood. She said the causes were all because of the abstinence only teaching and not enough tax money. That made me think this not credible.

I didn't think he was going to step down, but perhaps from all of the pressure from others this is why he is doing it. Must be because that's one of the ways he can get "out of" having to go to jail.

Although we didn't vote for him, because of his radical liberal stance, we have & will continue to pray for him. His wife & 3 daughters need prayer importantly at this time.
Governor Spitzer is a very intelligent man, but our hedonistic society & other bad examples, especially amongst politicians & celebrities, have made faithfulness in marriage more difficult in recent times for all people.
I'd learned some time ago that intelligence doesn't guarantee making wise choices. Instead brilliance may lure an individual to conceitedly trust in his abilities, rather than to rely on good & godly principles.
I hope that our resigning Governor will be truly remorseful & be able to hold his family together, after this very hard lesson.

He targeted many people doing the things he is accused of doing. Hookers, pimps, money laundering etc. Add to that trafficking women to DC via Amtrak. That brings in the FBI. He was known as a real knob for most people he went after, he made things rather personal. The prosecution should do the same. I suspect he's going to be spending a lot of time with Duke Cunningham.
I just hope when they cart him off to prison that, unlike the Duke, he'll show a shred of self-respect and not blubber uncontrollably on camera about how he's being persecuted. Could they actually end up in the same institution? How cool would that be? LOL

Duke was a war hero of the highest order. Spitzer is unfit to make his bunk in prison...and too arrogant to even show real remorse for what he's done. Spitzer's apology speech sounded like a campaign rally pep talk.

secondly, this is not news. we need to know why our govt. has given away huge contracts to foreign companies (Boeing vs. AirBus)
why have many of our jobs been shipped overseas. what is going on here. we need to get past this petty garbage and see what this admin. is trying to do next to screw us more.

Northrop Grumman KC-45A primary subcontractors include EADS (Owner of Airbus)-North America, General Electric, Honeywell, AAR Cargo Systems, Sargent Fletcher, Knight Aerospace Products, Parker and Telephonics.
The Northrop Grumman KC-45A tanker will support more than 25,000 direct and indirect jobs in the United States, a conservative estimate based upon the U.S. Department of Commerce aerospace industry jobs projection formula.
Many jobs will be in the hardest hit areas of Katrina.

What percentage of the $35 billion will go to Airbus? Probably more than 75%. The only work that will be done in the US is assembling the imported parts (except the GE-made engines). I do not believe that this will create more than 25000 jobs in the US, this is complete crap!! > 25000 new jobs in Europe? Yes, of course!!!
I have a hard time seeing any European government awarding such a contract to a foreign company! There would be strikes and demonstrations otherwise.
