A campaign spokesman said Friday night that the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., former pastor at Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, is no longer affiliated with Sen. Barack Obama's presidential race after coming under fresh scrutiny for controversial comments that the Illinois Democrat called "inflammatory and appalling."

Obama knew Wright was going to be a problem

New York Times: The U.S. Senator rescinded an invitation to his good friend and spiritual mentor to deliver the invocation at Obama's announcement to run for president. Wright's successor Rev. Otis Moss III declined a request to take Wright's place. Wright did travel to Springfield and prayed with Obama before he took the stage.

The rescinded invitation came days after a story in the Chicago Tribune about the challenge Obama might face in explaining Trinity's creed to white middle class voters.

A spokesman for Obama's campaign told The New York Times that the campaign disinvited Trinity's senior pastor in order to shield the church from negative media attention.

      EVERY GREAT LEADER KNOWS

that you are as sucessfull as those you surround yourself with. and the reason being, is that great minds do in fact think alike. it is also true that people hang around people who think simular to themselves or in some instances people who inspire them to think differently. that being understood by any open minded person would agree that the way Barrack Hussein Obama has referenced his 20 plus years of loyalty to this church which you would assume most people frequent on sundays to be with like minded christians and most people hope to be inspired by thier church leaders that he in fact was well aware of the ideals in the mind of his minister I believe that a hint of that was revealed by his wife who sounded like this so called man of god (which god I'm not sure) when she stated for the first time in my life I am proud to be American. Barack Hussien Obama's TRUE COLOURS WILL SHINE THROUGH and I beleive they will be the same colour as his minister.

for those of you who are even slightly interested in the truth behind Barack Hussien Obama it is very simple to access his website (I dont mean the one in the political adds I mean the one at USGOV.ORG) his official senate web site look over his voting record while you are there check out all the candidates I am sure most will be ammazed at his voting record or should I say lack of, but thats not the worst part, pay attention to some of the bills he actually found impotant enough to show up for and believe me they are few, and some that he did not feel needed his presence this will blow your mind. or at least should. the closer we get to the general election the more the press will dig the more facts will come out you will see the true Barack Hussien Obama I think its pathetic he came this far.

Funny how the supporters of republicans and even Clinton occasionally are typically low educated people or half educated people but most notably narrow minded enough to focus on specific details and miss the big picture by carefully discarding the totality of details that are always needed to properly examine a situation. The big picture is that people like the Clinton couple immersed in their own arrogance and questionable pasts (that enabled the hypocrite republicans to play their polarizing game) spoiled an otherwise good presidency and by questionable ethically behavior enabled someone massively inept like Bush to take over and destroy the superpower . They are both traitors to this nation although clearly the first only because they ignored the signals of the incoming crisis more by naivete and less by intention. And the people that are trying to prevent Obama from regenerating the dream and putting an end to the death spiral are equally treasonous with their inept leaders.

            Lies, lies and more lies.

Repukes think we are idiots. And if you repeat lies long enough they will somehow became truth.

I posted his experiences. It is way more impressive than of the crook Fred Thomsons. And FAR FAR MORE OF W idiot Bush.

I'm glad others have checked his senate voting record out. You are correct and he should have never made it this far.

As far as his church and Rev. Wright, Barack is distancing himself. He told the media he hadn't heard these sermons, wasn't in church that day and totally disagrees with the rhetoric.

He has attended this church for 20 years now. The sermons and rhetoric have been the same. I'm sure he's heard this type of talk from the Rev. before. Now suddenly Barack's friend of twenty years rhetoric is "inflammatory and appaling".

Must be a reason why he's been there for so long, because if the message is so offensive (as Obama claims today),I think he would have found another church a long time ago.

            Uniter?

Seems to be the wrong type of church to be going to with your family if you are interested in uniting all peoples.

The media did state that Rev. Wright was a religious adviser for the Obama campaign.

You are all deluded if you think an educated and enlightened person goes to church to get guidance. This is all for the eyes of simplistic idiots that are ethically bankrupt enough to betray daily the very message of the church founder Christ. You are hypocrites the same type that crusified him. You reject the main message and focus on what is convenient. You think Bush is a good Christian? Or is McCain a great Christian having no problem with the war as is. They are all hypocrites of a different degree.

What is Obama to do? Come out and tell you that Christ is a historical human being that lived and died like a human but with the key message of his life tried to show the world how to lead an ethical open minded positive life? Are you prepared to listen that all religions are symbolic and not to be taken literally but one instead ought to study their supporting role in the ethical build up of mankind that lead us eventually to the true answers through science. Are you prepared ?

I'm going to be surprised if that holds up since his campaign knew Wright was going to be a problem for them from the beginning.

I won't be surprised to see the press uncover the fact that Obama was in attendance when some of the more controversial sermons occurred

When Obama first began to run, the black community said he was not black enough. Now I guess he darkened up a bit since then for them because all of a sudden out of nowhere he's their black hope. I'm sick of all of their racism. Electing him would be the worst thing this country ever did. Electing Hillary would be the second worst.

And now he seems to be too dark for the whites, or at least for some whites. When the primaries started, I was convinced that Americans would never elect either a woman or a black president. Now that the two candidates left in the Democratic race are a woman and a black man (although he has just as much claim to be white as black), I'm really curious what will happen. The polls show that the majority of Americans are fed up with the same old same old, but I'm genuinely scared that in the end it might be good old McCain of the 100 year war who ends up victorious.

At first Obama was openly accused of being Muslim. By now it's only insinuated, while at the same time he is attacked for his Christian church. I find this fixation on religion and the mixing of religion and politics completely bizarre.

It's about time Obama woke up and smelled the insanity of his preacher. I wonder if he's now feeling embarrassed that he and crazy Wright went to Tripoli with Farakhan.

Do a Google search on Hitler and "Martin Luther" and you will be amazed.

Martin Luther was very racist/anti-semitic. He wrote books like "Jews and their Lies" and advocated burning synagoges. Hitler was a great admirer of Martin Luther and chose the night of Martin Luthers birthday for "krystalnicht" when the Jewish business were burned in about 1938.(sorry I can't spell or remember exact dates)

Since Martin Luther was the founder of the modern day Protestant church maybe we should vote against anyone that is assosciated with anything Protestant.

When media and some citizens start focusing on such stupid details as what some priest of one's church said or did years ago then you know that indeed they have a big problem . The problem they have is that suddenly they realize that someone that is enlightened enough to try to regenerate the country and reclaim its promise among the nations of the world is good enough for that task but terrible for their self interest network of treason that has decided long ago to destroy everything in the name of the corrupted accumulation of wealth.

It is amazing that there are still people out there who listen to this BS. As if it is ever remotely possible that the view Obama has about the world is influenced by what a priest said. They do the same with old friends. They study carefully every detail that can hurt someone . What they dont do is study the core message. It is not convenient to study Obama himself and what he says . The dirt has to be found elsewhere. It is so needed! PATHETIC.

                              WAKE UP PEOPLE.

You are running your very country to the ground. You are so eager to elect ethically bankrupt people , inept people with poor education, with questionable business deals and practices with massive self interest exhibited through all their lives. You are so vastly eager to focus on hypocritical unimportant details and miss the message.

Well the bloody message broadcasted daily by the economy , the daily quality of life, kids' education, the relationship with the rest of the world is that the american dream is being tormented in the hands of corrupted leadership that has absolutely no vision about the furure. They are exploiting for their friends the very country they were born to. They destoy middle class, they corrupt the quality of the culture by methodically trying to disorient you away from the true priorities of our world. They offer you simplistic excuses and take away your future. And when someone with vision comes they are all so eager to eat him alive.

We are looking into Obama's relationship with his church and the Rev. Wright because it is contradictory to Obama's message of unity. What a person says or claims to be is evident from what they are doing in their daily lives.

This church and its' rhetoric have nothing to do with unity for all peoples, in fact I contend it is quite racist!

                              So what is Obama's vision?

Campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor notified reporters tonight that Wright will no longer serve his largely ceremonial role on Obama's African American Religious Leadership Committee. He declined to elaborate.
