Wright, Jr. preach hatred of America, Obama was in the pews last July 22 when the minister blamed the "white arrogance" of America's Caucasian majority for the world's suffering, especially the oppression of blacks.

Since the 1980s, Obama has not only remained a regular attendee at Wright's services in his inner city mega church, Trinity United Church of Christ, along with its other 8,500 members, he's been a close disciple and personal friend of Wright.
It now appears Mr. Obama has attend sermons where Rev. Wright made many racists/anti-american comments. It is unlikely anyone attending services here for 20 yrs would be immune to the message infiltrating their minds toward racism. That to me is very sad thing to think the Obama's and Oprah for that matter supports a place that is nothing but a center to promote racism. The old saying is true.

Where there's smoke there's fire! What is especially interesting is that Obama first said, that the Reverend was like a "cranky old Uncle"...??????? cranky old uncle?????
LOL ... and then the fake affront of the "racist remark ...lucky he's black"??? Where compared to what the Reverend said was the racist part of lucky???
Obama is lucky he's black. That's a fact!!!
It's time for ALL CONCERNED to get back to the issues in this campaign to oust the GOP out of the WH. IMHO Obama would be the worst choice out of the three. The second best - McCain.

Red, I have a really hard time knowing anything about what Obama's priorities are.
Is it "economic parity" where the rich are taxed enough to bring them down to the same level the poor are brought up to?
Is it Africa first (A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.)
What does he mean, or what means would he use, to "unite" us?
What is he going to "change" and what means would he use to change from what, to change to?
He doesn't mention his mother, who is white. How does she fit in with his church preachings.
When I look at his web site for his positions, most say, "He thinks". Why doesn't it say, "This is what I will do about xxxx, and this is how I will fund it."
I see information about US plans, but where is the accounting for all of the monies going to the UN and Africa?
A lot of questions left unanswered.

Pastor Wrights says...No black man will ever be considered for president. Well Pastor Wright Mr. Obama has/had a good shot at being President. He was not damaged by White America, they turned out in large numbers to support him. The damage was inflicted by you and your anti american/white racist mouthy remarks. You sir are a racist supreme.

klarissa, its clear you simply don't want to know what Obama stands for.
on his site, just roll over "issues" then click on any issue from the drop-down menu. on each issue page Obama spells out his plan and what he will do.
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/
its so easy, even a caveman can do it.
AND, where was this great curiosity about how a presidnet will pay for things when Bush gave those huge tax cuts to rich people? why aren't you ranting on these boards about that? (these are rhetorical questions. we all already know the answers.)

Politico.com:
Sen. Wayne Allard has crafted a massive budget amendment that claims to fund every policy proposed by Sen. Obama on the presidential campaign trail. Allard's amendment includes $1.4 trillion in spending over 5 years by proposing Obama's universal health care program ($65 billion a year), expanding the Army ($6.6 billion a year) and eliminating income taxes on lower income seniors ($10 billion a year).
Allard said his proposal was "an amendment that I think needs to be a part of the process รข;; that will budget for some of the rhetoric we are hearing on the campaign trail."
The mock Obama amendment got zero votes
During the vote, Obama emerged from a Senate cloakroom with an entourage of Democratic senators, including Richard J. Durbin of Illinois and John F. Kerry of Massachusetts. He smiled, walked up to the well of the Senate, and voted "no" on the amendment that one Republican dubbed the "Obama spendorama."

His platform is the far left platform. Womb to tomb help, planning,do everything for everybody. To pay for it tax, tax, tax.Several years ago some Republicans sent a request to the congressional finance organization. They asked how much income they would receive if they taxed 100%. The fools sent back the number that was every bodies income for a year. They didn't stop to think that if people were not getting money for their work they would stop working.
This is the Democrats biggest blind spot. They never look at the graphs showing revenue versus tax rate. When taxes are raised revenue goes down and when tax rates go down revenue goes up. But they have to tax, tax, tax. That is the Obama plan, tax and spend.

You know, when his camp said that he didn't remember this type of language and so forth, I thought it was a stretch. But, I thought maybe he'd manage to PR the whole thing away.
Now, when it sounds like maybe there is proof that he did indeed attend such a sermon, I think his earlier denial is going to drop like a lead balloon.
To be the candidate that embraces a "new" kind of politics that does away with divisiveness and yet have attended (voluntarily) this church and listened to this pastor for 20 years?
(shakes head...)

FTA- Our writer, Jim Davis, says he attended several services at Senator Obama's church during the month of July, including July 22. The church holds services three times every Sunday at 7:30 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Central time. While both the early morning and evening service allowed Sen. Obama to attend the service and still give a speech in Miami, Mr. Davis stands by his story that during one of the services he attended during the month of July, Senator Obama was present and sat through the sermon given by Rev. Wright as described in the story. Mr. Davis said Secret Service were also present in the church during Senator Obama's attendance. Mr. Davis' story was first published on Newsmax on August 9, 2007. Shortly before publication, Mr. Davis contacted the press office of Sen. Obama several times for comment about the Senator's attendance and Rev. Wright's comments during his sermon. THE SENATOR'S OFFICE DECLINED TO COMMENT.

Where was he prior to that or after that. I have been in three cities in one day so we need his itinerary for that day. During the primary time they will be in as many cities as they can be. They can attend events in three different states on one day with chartered planes and a tight schedule.

GHOSTWHOWALKS6 months, 3 weeks ago
A load of bull is what the video shows. I can attend both on the same day. All that is required is something I guess you are not aware of. It's called a private jet. Just like the one Obama flew in from Chicago to Florida. So much for that attempt. Gonna try again?
BTW. There are video and TV stations that have tapes of the idiot paster and his rhetoric. And then there's the wife and her "I hate America" mouth also on video and tape.

Juan Williams, NPR and a Fox News commentator and author of "Enough: The Phony Leaders, Dead-End Movements, and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America," tells Newsmax that Wright's sermons reflect "the victim mindset that is so self-defeating in the black community and one that is played on by weak black leadership that chooses to have black people identified as victims rather than inspiring them as people who have overcome. In posing as victims, they say the most prejudiced and vicious things, not only about whites but about America. They call it theology. In fact, it's nothing but bigotry." I agree with Juan.

"I agree with Juan."
I do as well. You might as well add Bill Cosby to the list of those who deride the "blacks are helpless victims" mentality. Not too long ago he called out the culture of violence, "gansta-rap" and constant use of the N-word among blacks to describe each other, and he got raked over the coals for speaking the truth.
Chris Rock is another successful black who chides the "N----r" mentality as demeaning and self-defeating. As Rock said, too many blacks greet people just out of prison as heroes while deriding those who go to college. "You got a master's degree? So, what, that makes you my master?!"
Blacks never had so much opportunity. There is no coalition of rich white men out there pushing for the success and privilege of white males. If blacks want to succeed in America, they need only study hard, get and education and work toward their own success.

I tried so hard to remain neutral but find it near impossible. It's a shame that a potential president would listen to such nonsense and hatred.
If it was a "guilt by association" from long past well maybe. But seeing this preacher, examing the evidence form many sources, PLUS his wife saying she was now only proud of America it's hard not to draw a conclusion.

RedRiverJ6 months, 3 weeks ago
rdy2rck you are very correct. If it were guilt by association it would be VERY different. Unfortunately being a member for 20 years is more than that. He and Michelle for that matter are deeply close friends with Wright. Obama knew what this man believes and has heard his hate fill sermons before. If he calls Wright friend and mentor, tithes to support the ministry that would indicate he believes in what he hears. And that my friend any way you slice it is not good change we can believe in, it's racism at the highest level.

I agree. Although i haven't seen actual footage of him sitting there listening to the garbage, it's almost impossible for me to believe he didn't.
I don't know what others think but I go to church and if I heard anything like that and walk out.Plus when you go to the same church you would hear something like that from other churchgoers even if you weren't there.it's a shame.

It should be interesting to see how effectively Obama can distance himself from someone who (a) he has known for 20 years (b) married him to his wife (c) baptised his children and (d) was the inspiration of his book (The Audacity of Hope).
Somehow, I would have more admirtation for Obama if he stood up for his friendship with Wright, rather than throw Wright under the bus in the name of political expediency.
Is it safe to ask why Obama doesn't wear a US Flag lapel pin now?

The idea that Obama didn't know about the verbal excesses of his pastor is implausible. If it were true, Obama is insentient and not worth considering as a president. It is more likely that either Obama agrees with Wright, or disagrees but didn't bother to object. Quite frankly, Obama comes out worse if the latter is true - a president is supposed to have a backbone.

This had to come out at some point. I have said before. It is totally beyond belief that he was not present during any of Wrights hate speeches.
He needs to honestly and openly address this issue.
Posting storys about him in Miami the same day do nothing. As people have stated, all he had to do was get on an airplane and three hours later he would be in Miami.

Just think Don Imus suffered a humiliating lashing over a few very WRONG off colored remarks he made in jest on a shock jock radio show. He lost his job, he embarrassed himself and was chastised severely by the media. Al Sharpton, Jackson all were out to do the old Don in and they did until he was picked up by another outlet.
Wright has been doing far worse for 20 years. Where are Al and Jessie now? Why have then NOT stepped up and dissed this racist man and made it clear the black leadership of America do NOT condone this as their message?

Are you forgetting that there's no bigger racist than Al Sharpton? Are you forgetting Twana Brawley, Crown Heights, and Freddy's? This man has blood on his hands.
As far as Jesse "Hymietown" Jackson, isn't he a bigot as well?

How ingenious of Barak Hussian Obama to think he could lie his way out of this. Perhaps he wasn't there when Wright gave this particular sermon. But if Barak Hussian Obama missed that particular sermon I'm sure he's been in church for others as apparently this wasn't an isolated incident. After 20 years of having a personal relationship with Wright if Barak Hussian Obama doesn't know Wright is a bigot then he is much too dense to become President of the United States, for sure. Hang it up Barak Hussian Obama you're dead in the water.
