Politics – She has to defeat Mr. Obama soundly in Pennsylvania next month to buttress her argument that she holds an advantage in big general election states. She needs to lead in the total popular vote after the primaries end in June.
the usual suspects are over at BoBo's having an Obama hatefest... seems he broke with his normal anti-muslim theme...

You're so welcome Will, thanks for participating!
Can't say i am surprised about the BoBo party, getting their hate on! lol
As an Indie I been getting invites both ways and it cuts both ways.LMAO
Can't wait for the generals when both sides hit head on.WOW
I'm gonna need tougher skin than I got now:)Oh, I gotta go jump over to BoBos party to see what's happening:):)
I attended a Maundy Thursday celebration last night (a memorial observance of the last supper). The speaker was powerful and delivered a truly inspirational, dynamic message. When I got home last night, it occurred to me that the timing of this small-scale "crucifixion" of Barack Obama by his opponents coincides with the time of celebration/observance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Please do not interpret this as putting Obama on par with Christ by ANY means! That is not my intention. However, there is somwhat of a parallel, imho.
The article makes a logical argument. We'll see what transpires from now to the convention.
As far as some of the commentary, I have to chuckle about the "usual suspects". It would be quite easy to show that another set of "usual suspects" have engaged in many, many Bush-bashing and "neocon" bashing threads. Or that another set of "usual suspects" have engaged in Christian-bashing threads. The idea that liberals or militant atheists or other groups have "clean hands" and have never congregated on a thread to hurl insults or mock or taunt is laughable.
We're all guilty. We can all do better and we know it. Yet, somehow, we never do.
Why is that? 8-(
SonOfTheMask----"We're all guilty. We can all do better and we know it. Yet, somehow, we never do. Why is that? 8-("
It's because you post too much tripe! :-)
Did I say "we" or didn't I?
I never post tripe. How you classify it is beyond my control. ;)
You do your part and I'll do mine. Let's see what happens.
I'm guilty of Bush Bashing, and may engage again, but NEVER in a God Bashing or Christian Bashing thread. I even put it in my profile for people NOT to send me links to those threads anymore, I find it very offensive. To each his own but i don't have to engage in those.
Me neither. If I could, I'd show you that in the past I've been insistent on rejecting terms like "Islamofascism" and pointing out that I criticize terrorists who pervert Islam to justify their methods...not Islam itself. I guess you'll have to take my word for it.
nope again... i've seen enough of your posts.. sorry didn't mean to infer that you too part in those ...
for the most part you are respectful...and honest..
you were also NOT lumped in with the ususal suspects comment...
guess I must be one as I'm over there posting.. having a little fun with BoBo..
n2n:
Amen!!!
I don't know if I consider telling the truth about Bush, Bush bashing. But whatever. LOL
But I never bash God or Jesus for they are the truth.
My cool friend, you sound more like my friends with every post. I'm in your corner, how can the truth be confused with Bush bashing? Well, he is a liar. Keep up the good work, my friend, you've more friends than you might be aware of!!!
The only time the truth hurts is when your standing on the wrong side!!!
SonOfTheMask---"I never post tripe. How you classify it is beyond my control. ;)"
I understand. Just ribbing you a bit. Have a good day. :-)
It does get ugly sometimes. The worst part is when people, from either side, make it personal. Then start trailing you from thread to thread negging all your comments regardless of the content. It's immature and childish for a bunch of supposed grown, intelligent people. IMO!
I gladly gave you a positive above, because I rarely have an opportunity to do so, but you are on the money about that. We ARE all guilty, probably because we are all human and we are passionate about what we believe!
On the subject of Christian-bashing, though, I have to say that both sides have engaged in that as well! There are liberal democrats who are non-Christians and who criticize Christian beliefs on a regular basis. On the other hand, many republican conservatives accuse or imply that liberals/dems are not Christians, when, in truth, many of them are. They love to color everybody with one brush stroke! They simply ignore the fact that Barack Obama is a Christian-their brother in Christ! It certainly hasn't prevented them from responding to him in a decidedly un-Christlike manner (unforgiving [though he bears no guilt for remarks that are not his] and, unmerciful).
term used by both sides.. but i'd bet you new exactly who i was referring to..... but guilty as charged..
Fortunately Will I've seen enough of your posts to know most of the times where your coming from. But unfortunately it doesn't matter religion or politics or what people use those terms and we as a group know what they're getting at from any angle.
BTW Son- I'd hate to be a peaceful muslim in this world right now and think that's why they keep a low profile.
SOM,i am guilty as charged, and i am sure i will be there again.I am trying to be a nicer me with the music.
Usually i try try to stay to my beliefs of what i consider best for America and my family, and i'm ok up to a point.lol,Completely off topic, sorry n2n.
In this election i think the line is becoming clearer.I think Hillary is more electable against McCain than Obama.Notice i didn't say that she was the better candidate.
Obama will be swift boated unmercifully by the nice, moral republicans, and maybe with some reason.Like it or not they have a good pile of ammunition. His pastor, not wearing a flag pin,not putting his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance, etc. That might be small things, but you can imagine the attack ads that they are going to throw at him.
Hillary has weathered the storm(s.That and the fact that she can probably carry more of the bigger states with more electoral votes. These things are going to be important issues in the convention, and valid issues.
I agree partially bad but with all this church stuff going on of course I have opinions but can't get past that preacher saying the gd word in church no matter what context plus Obamas vowed continued friendship.
I'm a tolerant Christian and there's certain things you just don't say in church and I just wouldn't be friends with that kind of pastor because(well I do care) what others think but he was hateful and won't change my mind.
But I agree, McCain would have tons of ammo and that's not an opinion, that's a FACT.
Damnation by God is one of the central themes in the bible.
Wright has had more to say than just these remarks repeated ad nauseum in the media. To pretend that many Black people, particularly older folks, don't harbor this mistrust of powerful whites is somewhat disingenuous. There is a legacy of racism in America that Senator Obama and his supporters are proving can be risen above. To lose this opportunity would be tragic. If you have not heard his speech regarding this in Philly, do yourself a favor and check it out... (the snippets run in the media don't do the job folks, let's hear what he thinks in his own words.)
Damnation by God is one of the central themes in the bible
Damnation, however, is totally unnecessary since Jesus died and rose to life.
That's THE central theme of Jesus' life and death.
It'd be nice if the Rev. Wright stressed that too.
He is an ordained Christian minister and has given tens of thousands of sermons. How many of them have you heard? How can you even suggest that you know what he stresses or not?
If I ever found out my priest ever said "G-- D---, America" at the pulpit- EVEN ONCE, I would join another parish THAT DAY. Not 20 years later, and certainly not run for office and tell the American people that I'm going to keep going to that church.
Jesus never said that. Rev. Wright has committed a mortal sin. And instead of worrying about Barack, I hope he's worried about his own soul!
All that may be what you would do if your pastor said that, but you are obviously not a black American. When they discuss their treatment at the hands of white America, there will be a lot of anger and justified condemnation.
Rev. Wright has served his country honorably in the US Marine Corps. He has earned the right to say what he wants, when he wants. Obama said he didn't agree with some of wright's outbursts, but he, as a Christian, can still love the sinner and loathe the sin. THAT is Christian, not this drumbeat from the prow of a new red white and blue swiftboat with a phony Christian flag flying high from the mast and a rapid firing cannon lobbing verbal missiles of self righteous hypocrisy and hate at an intelligent and decent human being.
"A MORTAL sin!!" What kind of church do you belong to? It doesn't sound like a Christian church that follows the teachings of Jesus.
It happens everytime though MonkeyBiz, whatever they can find to trash Liberals, lies and propaganda, when they get on their sanctimonious soap box. Then on the next thread you will see them making excuses and calling people names for pointing out Bushies on his war profiteering, illegal war, yada yada. They are as transparent as glass.

Mrs. Clinton is looking for some development to shake confidence in Mr. Obama so that superdelegates, Democratic Party leaders and elected officials who are free to decide which candidate to support overturn his lead among the pledged delegates from primaries and caucuses.
For Mrs. Clinton, all this has seemed something of a long shot since her defeats in February. But that shot seems to have grown a little longer.
Well, n2n, I feel that Hillary and Obama both have drawbacks, but both have so much more to offer this nation than McCain does that I will vote for whoever wins the Democratic nomination. I feel that November will arrive as a time of great hope and liberation.
I feel the same way mc, exactly the same way!
n2n-Booh.LMAO Just remember I ain't voting for none of them:)
Anyway, for you staunch democrats out there, I was just wondering with this church thing been going on it seems to me at least in the media here Hillary has just dropped off the map and just now is starting to get some attention back.
Am I seeing right and was wondering if people think this has helped or hurt her chances?
rdy2rck----"Am I seeing right and was wondering if people think this has helped or hurt her chances?"
You didn't ask me :-), but I want to say that it's a long way until November, but I think that most people have their minds made up already. The Democrats (mostly) feel that either of our choices would be acceptable. Of course, there are many strong Clinton supporters and many strong Obama supporters. In the end though, in spite of the pollsters predictions, I think that almost all of the Democrats will vote for the Democratic candidate rather than take a chance with a candidate who has been endorsed by Bush. You'd vote for McCain? If so, why?
I was asking anyones opinion if I was seeing things right. So thanks. But I've said before and say again I'm not voting for any of the three and don't have a clue as to what to do but I will enter the voting booth. I criticize equally.
It is a long way to November and I think there's a big percentage of who has there mind made up regardless of what happens. But I was just wondering if anyone else has seen the lapse in Hillary coverage and if this has hurt her or given her a break especially in Pa.
Personally i think it has helped her chances. The focus lately has been on Obama's pastor and his inflammatory words. That has given people another view of Obama and taken Hillary out of the spotlight. So yes i think it has helped her.
I was thinking it hasn't hurt but wonder what's really going on in Pa. I don't go by polls.
Pa. is a weird state. The democratic "machine" is pretty strong there and the machine operators are all hard core Clintonites. Though the major Newspapers have endorsed Obama.
Hillary will likely win because the machine has a big influence, yet I doubt she'll carry Philadelphia. It won't be a large margin. Obama tends to gain more and more support the longer he has to campaign, Hillary tends to lose support the longer she has. I predict she will win but not by much, with Obama carrying all the highly populated areas, maybe even getting more delegates as in Texas.
I agree with you RFE. I lived in Pa for 7 years and she may not carry Harrisburg either.
and i predict that hillary will "win" penns and that the SOS will report impossible numbers just like they have in NH...blackboxvoting.org has done some remarkable work following NH's recount and uncovered tons of illegal stuff
take a spin by the web site, check out the videos..u will be amazed
I thought the mayor of Harrisburg was supporting Clinton. Does he have much influence? Is he popular?
