I have reason to hope McCain will take the high road, like Barack. But he also needs to squelch and strongly disavow any swift-boat style attacks on Obama from groups not directly associated with his campaign.
It's time for a true investigative reporter to track down the original sources of those poisonous videos and emails. Even I was able to put the "not saluting the flag" photos into their proper context and show what a pitiful smear was concocted. Who took the time and effort to review and edit what must have been hundreds of sermon videos in order to portray the Rev. Wright (and by association, Obama) in the worse possible light? The man gave thousands of sermons over his long career.
Oppositional research, like so much else in this political climate, is being taken to the extreme, and we all suffer as a result.
