FTA:
"It's gotten enormously negative," Richardson said of the campaign. The governor spoke just days after adding to the acrimony that has increasingly characterized the battle for the nomination when he announced last week that he would give his superdelegate vote to Obama despite the fact that his own state voted by the slimmest of majorities for Clinton.
I agree with Richardson, the negativity in our party needs to cease.

If he wanted to be vp, he could've stuck w/Hillary, who was wooing him harder than Bill wooed Monica! Had he decided not to go with his conscience but to stay out of misguided loyalty and blind ambition, he never would have had the balls to back the best candidate for the job: Barack Obama!

I think it's a little too late for pleas.I will say however the dems got the stats. on there side. No presidents party has ever retained the WH in a bad economy.

It appears that every time we have a repub pres, we end up with a bad economy, then there has to be a dem to clean it up, then we go right back to the repubs again!
I just seems to be a vicious cycle!

I don't know about that n2n. I think this last economic cycle has been brewing for at least 20 years fueled by consumer debt and now it's time to pay the Bill. He's had a Congress on his side and off and I didn't see anything happen either way.But traditionally it's the pres. who takes the heat and gotta admit this pres. has got the stove turned on real high.

rdy2rck - For one the current congress doesn't have the votes to change anything. Brewing for the last 20 years? that doesn't make any sense since we had an 8 year boom before this current administration, I can see where we have a 1 to 2 year boom and the economy starts to correct itself but 8 years is an indication of stability in my eyes...the economy was good solid. With a fiscal responsible president in place after Clinton we wouldn't be here today, and these bills you talk of they were paid, do you not remember the 500 billion surplus with a projection in the trillions by 2020? I am sorry but I disagree with you! The current state of the economy was brought on by the gross mismanagement of said economy by this administration. American were paying down or off the debts until the jobs that were created under the Clinton administration were shipped out for cheaper labor.

I believe that we need unity for the sake of the whole country. Unfortunately, there seem to be more forces on both sides of the aisle that would prefer to divide Americans up over various issues to be able to get their own way.
Frankly, the Clintons have run a campaign that has been more like something out of Carl Rove's play-book of dirty tricks.
The msm will not allow these candidates to discuss issues, and that needs to be addressed. I try to boycott the msm for the most part and rely on other sources for the news. Perhaps if more people would begin to do this, the message would get through.

What kills me about that SC, is at the debates when Hillary told the other debators that they were taking their methods of debating out of the republican play book, and for them to NOT do that to each other, now she is acting worse than they ever dreamed of acting.
It almost makes it appear that her attitude toward that is, Don't do that to me, but i will do it to you, and get away with it because i am a woman! Hogwash!

Kinda like Bill Clinton saying "we all need to chill." Then calling Obama unpatriotic. The Clintons are perfect examples of the "ugly" american.

Spade, engineer & n2n unity is the best for the citizens of the whole nation at the moment. However, it would seem that there could be more profit for a select few in disunity than would appear. The separate democratic candidates are getting large contributions which helps the DNC financially and the MSM corps are hauling in the big $ on a historical event; the possibility of a female candidate for pres or the possibility of an Afro-American candidate for pres for the first time ever in American Politics.
Now on top of that is the very popular and 'market share drawing' side show of all the inflammatory, divisive and derogatory rhetoric from a candidate's preacher.
An' least I forget, the supposed betrayals by party associates and etc. For Juicy, presented as Soap Opera like, betrayals = $,$,$
I can see the money rolling in which makes me think that this whole DNC rift thing is nothing but a big pay day for our esteemed politicians and news media.
How come I'm not surprised.

The racists in the Democrat party have raised their heads, led by the Clinton Camp. When push came to shove the all the glorious talk from the Democrat party since 1960 has be just talk after all. I feel pity for those that actually fell for the lies. The worse thing is it coming from the FIRST black president.

Nothing but a distorted lie and a blatant attempt at imposing guilt on the innocent! I don't know how people live with themselves when they employ such low down tactics! I can see why Bill Richardson switched loyalties. He saw the start contrast between someone honest enough to admit there are racial issues still to be discussed and resolved in this country, regardless of the negativity and the danger to his campaign by virtue of such openness, and the devious, dirty tricks methodology of his opponents who play oh so well to the very prejudices and fears he seeks to overcome. It left a bad taste in Richardson's mouth and should leave a bad taste in the mouth of any fair-minded person.

I believe that the political set up in the USA is the biggest problem.
First you have 2 parties so everything boils down to a black or white issue which makes it two dimensional, no grey
Second you are always having elections so both sides are always at each others throats, no rest at all from the bickering.

it would certainly help if media didn't focus on non-issues and stuck to reporting things that actually make a difference in the way the country was run.
The media blame the people for being bored by real discussions of issues. The people have been brainwashed by the media to look at elections as something like horse races, with people picking a side before the race and unimportant factors being weighed in the handicapping.
Who will break the cycle?

I haven't really seen either one of them get very negative. Yes, there have been some things said back and forth, but are we really expecting a good clean fight here? This is an election for the highest office in the world. For the most part both candidates have been very controlled in my opinion. Most of the mud slinging has been done by the media. The media loves selling garbage and we love to buy into it.

Carville is a comic book, not a handbook. Rove learned at the knee of Lee Atwater, who was enamored of "tricky dickie" and a devout acolyte of the "end justifies the means" Machiavellian church of dirty politics.
Rove surpassed his teacher in so many ways, there is probably a special spot in hell waiting for him. His name will now be forever associated with the worst of human nature as applied to politics. Machiavelli would be appalled.

I never could trust Hillary, and now we are finding out why!
There is something spurious about her Democratic credentials - like her story about a trip to Bosnia under fire- and it is just coming out. She was a Goldwater Republican, then an Arkansas variety of a Democrat, then the padded resume about her experience in foreign affairs!
Heck, she did not even have the security clearance to attend any of the policy meetings, let alone be involved in decision making!
These are all lies, as it turns out!
No wonder half of the voters would NEVER vote for her. They can probably know it by instinct that she is a phony!

I am disappointed that the dem phoobahs don't publicly declare Obama the winner because Hillary is mathematically eliminated. She cannot win unless the super delegates go against their own party membership to get her the nomination. Obama has an insurmountable lead in elected delegates and is way ahead in the popular vote despite the shenanigans created by Rush limpjaw.
I heard on the news today that Hillary's campaign is saying that the primary should be decided by the number of electoral votes in each state won. As if because she won, say, Texas in the primary, she could win Texas in the General. Oh my! She is becoming so desperate that now she is no longer even making sense.
Step down Hillary, we need you in Obama's new administration.

Do u even know what a neocon is, you twit? The Clintons made the the little turd into a national figure, and he said thank you by stabbing them in the back.
And my "loyalties lie" with Hillary and the Democrats that are actually willing to fight to do something positive in this country rather than the vacuous nonsense that Obama spews. Christ, we might as well nominate Vanna White as our nominee!

There is a current political saying: If you can't win on your record, blast the $hit out of your adversary with lies. Bush used it successfully in 2000 AND 2004. Swift Boat vets for Bush, an example of how Bush used Kerry's record, rather than explain why he was AWOL from his Houston National Guard unit. His own DD-214 (military record) was "lost" by his commander.
Show me any veteran who had his DD-214 misplaced -- especially a damned sitting president!!! And the neocons all yelled loud enough to mis-direct the media from his own military record to that of Kerry. As far as I concerned, Bush is a perfect example of a coward who was born into bucks and wants others to do the fighting for him so that he can live long enough to spend it!!! That's why he doesn't know $hit about how to run a war; neither does that dirt-bag he calls a VP. Cheney was deferred from active duty for flat-feet. And people wonder how the hell we got into this mess in Iraq? Peace

Isn't it interesting swamp that our fearless 'never fought a war or served in the military' politicians know how to fight a long and protracted war.
You may note, that as long as the Top Brass planned and implimented mil strat things went fairly well. Then when the 'long term military situation' was thought about more 'political thinking' was applied to equation which IMHO lead to the current stalemate in Iraq.
From a more practical standpoint why did we politically and militarily want to knock off one of our supposed allies. Was it really WMD's and etc. puleese. I think it would of been better to give the evil Saddam a couple of $$ to kick AQ's butt for us. But no, he was considered evil by BUSH-CHENEY CO and we had to prove that America cared for the 'well being' of the avg Iraqi citizen by spilling our own soldiers blood and spending our treasure.
Democracy in action?
For when the war was sancitoned by Congress my Rep didn't ask for my opinion. Did yours?
