Politics – Hillary Clinton may not realize it yet, but she's just endured one of the worst weeks of her campaign. Her presidential prospects continue to dim. The door is closing. Night is coming. The end, however, is not near.
Hillary needs to stop. It really seems like her attitude is "If I don't win, NO democrat will win." She is doing more to try and damage Barack than the other party. That's just sad.
I agree completely ZG. In fact, on The View yesterday, Joy said that the best thing that Hillary could do for the Democrat party would be to bow out gracefully and let McCain and Obama get on with the business of campaigning for Nov.
HOWEVER, IMO, she would rather hand this election to McCain out of pettiness than to admit defeat to Obama. It's all about her ego.
Also,, even though i thought that Bill Clinton did a good job with our economy, i think he is a MAJOR driving force behind this. He has an agenda, personally... i think it's so he can thumb his nose at Newt and some of the others that pursued him inceasantly during his tenure in office. Again, all about his ego too.
Interesting idea, N2N. I always assumed she was the driving force behind their Dysfunctional Duo, but maybe he is now the one pushing hardest. I can see where it would be very satisfactory to him to be back in the White House as First Laddie.
They won't stop until their dead. Let's hope the new sniper, not the one that first tried to take the Hildabeast and the Chelswamp out, is a better shot. Naw, keep'em alive, it's good entertainment.
If I can remember the first bullet that flew by my head 41 years or so ago you know she's making it up as she goes along. It also looks like their little troll, I mean daughter, is following in their footsteps.
I love how chelsea was finally asked about the lewinsky scandal. Check this out.

I can't believe that! If a question of the Family Feud was "Whats would you like to ask the Clintons?" the number one answer would be about Monica!
Of course it's our business, they make it that.
That's interesting that it was the first time the question has been posed to C. C after making 75 appearances at colleges. If that is the case, then why is it so? And why would she be surprised to be asked about the most talked about part of her father's presidency and why would she feel that she'd somehow get a pass now that she's playing in the BIG Sand Box?
It's one thing to be the child of a parent and not being involved in the political movement, other than photo opts with the folks, it's quite another to be stumping for one of them.
I can't agree more and it is sad.It seems she has a "take no prisoners attitude." With the firestorm around Obama most of her actions have gotten little press.
Ex.-She had said she came under fire on a trip to Bosnia. It has proven this is false and she said she "misspoke."How do you mis-speak getting shot at?You either did or didn't
I know! It's an outright LIE. Zaph posted that story here:

The writing is on the wall Hillary. Go home.
Thanks. I think you know. by now that I'm independant but this sure can't be helping the dems at all. They need to be focusing.
It can't be hurting Mccain. He's probably got his aparatus in place and is ready to go.
At the current pace, McCain won't have to pull his apparatus out of his holster. The democrat candidates are self-destructing all by themselves.
I agree. I don't have an idea about this helping his chances but it certainly will give him a good focus in the generals with his national apparatus already in place.
The Democratic Convention is in August, I believe. So that leaves the nominee with only two months or so to run against their opponent, while McCain is already running against the democratic ticket.
Very true. It really helps McCain but this is only a guess based on past history. An incumbent presidents party has never won an election with a bad economy.Plus a war and Bushes horribly low approval ratings. Not very good odds.
All that is true, but don't forget we have never seen anyone campaign the way Hillary is, so it isn't so much will a Republican win, but can the Dems keep Hillary from destroying their chance of taking the White House. This election does not fit the norm, it, and Hillary's campaign style, are unique to say the least.
This sure is a unique if not the most unique campaign in U.S. history. To say it nicely of what I've suspected for years, Hillary is what she is.:)
Wouldn't be quite historical if Hillary took all the good will and popularity that was banked by her husband and squandered it, losing the race and hurting the party so much as to splinter it into such small groups that is would lose all hope of being strong again?
The Democrat party has just recently either seen the Clintons for whom they truly are, or they knew it all along and turned a blind eye, to their own peril. Then you throw in the overt racism from the Party of the Downtrodden as the truth shines that no party has a lock on racism or just doing bad things.
I honestly hope that both the Republicans and Democrats can get their act together and learn from this election cycle that this type of politics is bad. This country needs both parties, and/or alternate parties that 'get it'; and we certainly need all politicians to clean up their acts as well as remembering the phrase We the People.
Hillary, and Bill are obsessed with returning to the W H to prove everything we already know about them, "just ain't true" They planned years ago on her being the first woman President, and are driven to see it through. Then that magic man came along, and made women swoon, and faint, and took it all away. They don't care if he loses in November, and will do everything they can to see that he does, so she can run again in 2012, instead of 2016. If they destroy the Democrat Party, so be it. They will build another in their image in 2012.
Hillary will have to be dragged kicking, and screaming from the Convention stage in August, and the Democrats will do everything they can, short of giving her the nomination, to placate the Clintons. She will compete in every Primary through June in hopes of making Obama look worse then he does now. They will leak the worst possible info about him, and they know plenty.
I don't agree ani, there aren't that many super delegates who have committed to Hillary, and i really don't know that many democrats that are really impressed with her. Barack Obama has won primaries in states that NO ONE would have dreamed he would have carried. You need to face the fact that people REALLY do want a change.
In the old days, the primaries were a more deliberative process which allowed both the voters and the press to vet out the presidential candidates. But now, the focus is to select a candidate as early as possible, which ends up making the priamries later in the season irrelevant. No wonder Florida and Michigan moved their primaries up - they wanted their votes to count.
Had the Wright revelations occured before Super Tuesday, it is questionable that Obama would be in the lead now. His supporters should thank their lucky stars that Wright popped up now rather than then, and stop trying to abort the primary process.

"Last week, an important Clinton adviser told Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen (also of Politico) that Clinton had no more than a 10 percent chance of getting the nomination. Now, she's probably down to a 5 percent chance.
Five percent."
"Let's take a look at what she's going to put her party through for the sake of that 5 percent chance: The Democratic Party is probably going to have to endure another three months of daily sniping. For another three months, we'll have the Carvilles likening the Obamaites to Judas and former generals accusing Clintonites of McCarthyism. For three months, we'll have the daily round of résumé padding and sulfurous conference calls. We'll have campaign aides blurting "blue dress" and only-because-he's-black references as they let slip their private contempt."
See what happens when reTHUGlicans vote for a Democrat.
"For three more months (maybe more!) the campaign will proceed along in its Verdun-like pattern. There will be a steady rifle fire of character assassination from the underlings, interrupted by the occasional firestorm of artillery when the contest touches upon race, gender or patriotism. The policy debates between the two have been long exhausted, so the only way to get the public really engaged is by poking some raw national wound."
Thank God for that.
But look on the bright side.
If McCain gets in, the libs will still get everything they want except troops home from Iraq.
But you will still have Gitmo closed, Kyoto and more international organizations we're going to have to bow to.
I agree, the Republican party got screwed this time. No matter who wins, we get a liberal. Let's just hope he picks a good running-mate.
Personally, I'd like to see Romney get the nod.
