I think he's right. 'Don't ask, don't tell' is absurd and is PROVEN by the fact that Gays and Lesbians are NOT being removed now that we NEED them to support troop levels.

The US is the ONLY NATO Founding country that forbids gays serving in the Military.

Unfortunately, I also think he's right about getting legislature through congress. Personally I think a good 'compromise' would be 'marriage' is a 'RELIGIOUS' ceremony and 'civil union' be a 'LEGAL' ceremony.

Because what is TRULY being questioned is a LEGAL RIGHT and discrimination.

As as I've said before there is NO such thing as REVERSE DISCRIMINATION. Discrimination is discrimination whether you're Black or White or Asian or Indian or Gay or Straight or Muslim or Jewish or Baptist or Catholic or Male or Female or 21 or 101....it doesn't MATTER.

It is like his adviser said to the Canadians about NAFTA, it is political rhetoric. Politicians, especially Chicago politicians, will say anything to get elected.

Just staying with his strategy. Whatever you want him to be, that's what he is. If not today, then tomorrow.

I'll tell you all this. My dad fought with honor in the Pacific theatre of WWII, the last war that really mattered. When this don't ask, don't tell policy jumped off, he said that he didn't give a rat's ass the sexual perference of people in the military. His quote was this: When the $hit gets thick, and I'm f'd up in a fox hole and some dude is trying to rescue me, the last thing on my mind is if he's bitting pillow. All I want to know if he can save my ass".

Don't you wonder what he wants for saving your behind? Here's clue, it is not your rations. Obama said this to secure the homosexual vote. He will lose support of the people who are not homosexual. This guy is going out of his way to p*ss off huge segments of the population to appeal to groups. Every American is not in a group. Those are the ones that will vote against him.

You may find this hard, no make that IMPOSSIBLE to believe, but there really ARE people who are NOT homosexuals who think that they are 1) real people 2) are no different then you or I and 3)actually DO believe those 6 silly words in the Constitution "That All Men Are Created Equal".

And you know what, they are the same kind of people who thought that BLACKS, JEWS, INDIANS, CHINESE, ITALIANS, JAPANESE, GERMANS, and RUSSIANS all deserved the same rights as EVERY OTHER AMERICA.

You are truly something else. What my dad meant was he didn't care about someone's sexuality. If they are assigned a job, like saving people, then he expected them to do their Goddamn job, that's it and that's all. As far as pandering to a group, all politians do it. You have McZombie kissing collective asses of the religious right so now what?
