I wouldn't break bread with either of them as I consider each of them to be sorry representatives of their respective organizations.

"It's unclear why the Pope won't be attending the dinner in his honor"

Unclear to whom? The reason is obvious -Bush will be there.

Actually it would be cool if the table was set like the "Last Supper" & Cheney had Judas' spot

If you roll with dogs, you get fleas.

          The Pope probably knows that.

I'd sooner break bread with the Devil. The only thing most Americans would like to break with Dumbya is his scrawly little neck. Or break wind...in his face.

Mr. Bush plans to greet this man of peace with a 21 gun salute.

Perhaps after this traditional military show, the man of peace might not have much of an appetite?

"Mr. Bush plans to greet this man of peace with a 21 gun salute...."

The use of gun salutes for military occasions is traced to early warriors who demonstrated their peaceful intentions by placing their weapons in a position that rendered them ineffective. Your ignorance is astounding.

So, what makes a visiting Pope a military occasion?

The church has lost all its credibility due to gay priests who prey on the young & the innocent.

A 21-gun salute is also rendered to foreign Heads of State (or members of a reigning royal family), as well as to as well as visiting dignitaries.

That's absurd. The Church isn't preying on young children; a few demented people that happened to have been priests are. But I guess according to your logic, all United States soldiers have lost their credibility because a few raped Iraqi women last year. Where do people like you come up with this stuff?

This story was reported on rawstory.com, a left-winged rag. It doesn't offer any reason for the Pope not attending dinner at the White House. I see, however, that conjecture is certainly being made by the loony left.

Global_Warmer never insinuated or stated that on this thread. In fact you are drawing a generalization about Global_Warmer, probably based on nationality (as I've seen you do in the past), that is a form of bigotry. I call you for what you are, a bigot.

Once more you are showing a bigoted thought process in which you feel you know the American thought process. Also, if you were stating in response to mrbs, the more correct statement would be "So, most mafia in the US are Italians" as he stated a large part of an organization or group (mafia/terrorists) as being of a particular race. I don't agree with that statement, but at least get your logical statements correct when you attack someone.

I just exposed your double standards and bigotry. I can also expose a blatant lie on a past thread regarding your nationality in which you also made numerous statements that can be construed as racist. Would you like me to? Its not nice to say something in a language that someone else may be fluent in and I wasn't the only one to notice what you said in the language made no sense. In fact I even asked someone of the nationality you were claiming and they said that you were definitely not from the particular country in question.

Maybe the Pope was simply upset when he found out that neither Ted Haggard nor Jeff Gannon would be in attendance...
