Its real fun to watch the video, then scroll down and read the votes our Johnny has tendered to cut funding for various veterans bills.

I particularly enjoyed the quote someone posted under the video:

-"So what McCain is really saying is "we can't repay the debt we owe to our vets, so why try?""-

avatar

That's just it, they don't try, AT ALL! All that bunch does is talk.

Did anybody else notice the first bullet is listed as a 20 billion dollar amendment and then when you click on the linked date it reads $20,000,000? Just one of those things that make you go "huh".

Goppy, once again, I'm going to ask you to do a spelling and grammar check. The title of your article posting should have "LIKE" and not "LIEK". Goppy, you really need to learn how to spell!!!! If you're doing it because you're trying to be funny, well, it's NOT.

I here ya!

But please dont be so hard on me.

I am home skooled cause my parents dint want me associatin with 'Seculirists'.

My college education was 2 years at The College of Creationism.

They got a great natural science program. I breezed through it in 2 days!

Happy to say, I got a B minus!

Oh, I also forgot to mention, I have trouble with mixin letters on accounta my Dyslexia.

But I find that this is quite common amongst us Christian Conservatives.

Although ... while I tend to transpose letters ... my fellow Conservatives tend to transpose cause and effect.

Yeah, ok. Sorry if I go on a rant like that, but it's really annoying to read those misspellings.

avatar

Ok.

On a scale of say 1 to 10, with 10 bein the MOST annoyin ...

Is my misspellins more annoyin than readin freakishly insane comments from BoboInTexas? or a OmegaGnosis story? or a insult from LibsRFunny or DropKickALib?

Just tryin to gage your perspektive.

Goppy...These folks should show some sympathy for us home skuled kids. It was so bad at my home we couldn't afford a king James, but my uncle sneaked off to Vegas for a weekend and swiped us a Gideon bible. One reason I home skuled was it was 4 miles to skule, uphill both ways, deep drifts in winter, blazing hot sun other wise. but us conservatives got it right on the state of the nation and the economy......

I love that you mentioned gaging perspective in relation to misspellings and homeschooling. Especially since the homeschooled do better on the ACT than the publicly educated.

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?A...

It's also significant that the homeschooled tend to do better in college than the publicly educated student.

http://www.hslda.org/docs/nche/000000/00000017.asp

And let's not forget the contributions of the homeschooled to the betterment of the world in which we live.

http://www.eadshome.com/Famoushomeschooled.htm

So, in the spirit of gaging perspective, do you belittle them because you are ignorant of their abilities? Do you fear your projections of their Christian conservative tendencies and how you think it relates to your world? Is it a sad attempt at bigotry towards the South?

Just trying to gage the calibration of your perspective.

At least Bush never lost 5 planes like McCain did...but then ,Bush was AWOL most of the time.

Here is a group of veterans who know the truth about McCain...

According to the movie about W by Oliver Stone Bush almost crashed a plane in the Guard while flying drunk! The movie isn't made yet but they were talking about the script the other night on Oberman.

Oliver Stone

real accurate in JFK wasn't he?

Bush biographers mixed on script for Oliver Stone's 'W'

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_dis...

Reactions to the script from the biographers were mixed. They said specific scenes are largely based in fact but noted that the screenplay contains inaccurate and over-the-top caricatures of Bush and his inner circle.

Jacob Weisberg ("The Bush Tragedy") was skeptical about Stone's claim that he wants to make "a fair, true portrait" of Bush.

The biographers were split on the accuracy of some eye-popping details in the screenplay, including scenes in which Bush nearly crashes a plane while under the influence of alcohol and another in which he tells wife Laura he wishes his father had not been elected president.

Good point pacman!

FALSE FALSE FALSE

John McCain never crashed 5 planes......it was his grandfather

John "Slew" McCain

http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/st...

As a self-confessed military brat, he inevitably chose a navy career. There was no other option for the grandson of John 'Slew' McCain, a man who had commanded aircraft carriers in the Second World War. Slew McCain was so driven that when the navy passed a rule saying only aviators could command a carrier, the old man went to flight school while in his fifties. He crashed five planes before finally getting his wings, and then his carrier. In one Pacific battle, planes under Slew McCain's command sank 49 Japanese ships in a single day.

Volunteering for Danger

http://billhobbs.com/hobbsonline/004569.html

Lt. George W. Bush was statistically only slightly less likely to get killed during the two years he spent learning to fly the F-102 than John Kerry was during his four months in Vietnam. And remember, after Bush learned to fly the F-10 he volunteered for Palace Alert, a Vietnam mission, but was turned down becuase he didn't yet have 500 hours of flying experience.

so does that mean Dubya was being not a coward for `accidentally` writing down the code for an aircraft that had been made obsolete instead of the newer one he had actually been trained to fly?

Only in wingnut land does going AWOL during war actually constitute deserving a medal.

Only in koolaidville does being a vet-hating vet mean one deserves to be the CinC.

Our Johnny is getting very pro-active on the Health care issue!!!

Course, when a REPUBLICAN gets pro-active on Health Care, you know it can only mean two things:

1. More profits for unnaccountable business practices by Health Inshurance companies.

2. More out-of-pocket costs for AMericans, and MORE accountability for OTHERS incompetence.

Perhaps Elizabeth Edwards explained it best when she assessed Johnnys Health Care Plan.

"Neither John McCain or myself would be covered by his health policy."

Thats because, under McCain's plan, insurance companies "wouldn't have to cover preexisting conditions like melanoma and breast cancer - and since cancer survivors are routinely denied insurance when they try to purchase it as individuals.

I guess Johnnys two step approach to veterans is the same dance routine he will be doin for ALL Americans.

I closed my eyes and listened to the speech. I thought I was listening to GW Bush.

It's the same old rhetoric and would have the same results.

Now I can understand no combat Bush being a jerk to the vets because he is just greedy and cares only for himself and his money making friends.

But McCain. What if they would have done him that way?

No to McCain and no to all who espouse the same old crap. Just let the ones who run the BUSINESS make the choices. Yeah that's not like letting the fox guard the henhouse is it!!!

How about medical coverage for every legal citizen in the US. Affordable overage. How about stopping the travesty of the welfare to corporate America while the poor and homeless struggle to have a meal or feed their children.

NO!!!! To the same old crap.

What a great technique.

Maybe all Americans should try that. That way, we wont get snookered by a candidates charisma.

(Not that McCain has that.)

But I hear ya cowboy. I used to have so much respect for McCain. I was FLABBERGASTED when we Conservatives chose Goerge W. Bush over McCain in 2000.

In fact, prior to him becoming the 'presumptive' nominee, I was spending time on Popeiller defendin Johnny against scurolous attackes against him by the Righties.

But he has changed DRASTICALLY!

He's thrown in the towel on 'Straight Talk' and embraced Goerge Ws 'Two Face Tango'.

I hope the two step was to an old Irish Reel or Jig. At least it would have the semblance of hope. ;)

-"He's thrown in the towel on 'Straight Talk' and embraced Goerge Ws 'Two Face Tango'."-

Its the only way he or any other Republican will get elected to the Presidency. Lets hope that the Democrats dont resort to such pandering.

Sad part is that winning has become more important than bettering our country. How else could candidates make complete 180s concerning their policies.

Tossing aside virtue and conviction in favor of pandering for votes has become a must in American politics.

Karl Rove proved that even an raving idiot can become Prezudint (twice!) if he can convince people that he represents good ol fashioned Americanism, whatever that is.

grandpa,

>Now I can understand no combat Bush being a jerk to the vets because he is just greedy and cares only for himself and his money making friends.

It`s just another case of right-wing supreme hypocrisy.

Just like they invented and perfected the gay-hating gay phenomenon, McCain has twisted that america-loathing agenda into the new vet-hating vet phenomenon.

Probably has something to do with the fact he is a gold-digger who dumped the mother of his three children for the money. Same thing they accused Kerry of, but of course Kerry wasn`t married to someone else when he met his current wife.

(if Bill had just dumped Hillary for Monica, he could be the Republican presidential nominee)

FTA:

Not only has he refused to support the 21st Century GI Bill, which the Veterans of Foreign Wars endorsed last June, he has consistently voted against increasing funding for the Veterans' Administration, which oversees all medical care for veterans:

â;; Voted AGAINST an amendment providing $20 billion to the VA's medical facilities. [5/4/06]

â;; Voted AGAINST providing $430 million to the VA for outpatient care "and treatment for veterans," one of only 13 senators to do so. [4/26/06]

â;; Voted AGAINST increasing VA funding by $1.5 billion by closing corporate loopholes. [3/14/06]

â;; Voted AGAINST increasing VA funding by $1.8 billion by ending "abusive tax loopholes." [3/10/04]

â;; Voted AGAINST a $650 million increase in veterans' medical care funding. [8/1/01]

It's easy for McClaim to talk out of both sides of his mouth, after he walked out on his wife and kids to marry money. Then even the money she had wasn't enough, she had to start a foundation and steal the donations made to it to support her dope habit. These people make me sick to my stomach.

So much for family values.

Meanwhile,John McCain wants to spend federal tax dollars to prosecute terminally ill patients for using their legally prescribed medicine.

Actually N2N, there has been studies in this area. Some know it as evolution, but not in the sense of Darwin. If you can't shift with the paradigm, you get left behind. Or worse, with group think.

Do a quick search and look into Future Studies. =)

McCain has proven beyond any reasonable doubt (torture flip-flop, tax break for rich flip-flop, 100 years) that he is just as willing if not more willing than his younger Republican counterparts to sell out America and the working class for personal power and prestige.

The integrity/maverick thing didn`t work for him in 2000, so now he`s going with the proven Dubya method - be mental silly puddy.

FTA (you haveta follow a link)

"One of John McCain's central ideas is to free insurance companies from state regulations that protect individual consumers, having said, "You should be able to buy your insurance from any willing provider - the state bureaucracies are no better than national ones." The not-so-subtle implication is that the marketplace is all that is needed to keep health insurers in check.

This is not unliek his response to the sub-prime fiasco when he said: 'We need LESS governmental regulation on the banking industry.'

About as intelligent as GWB's remarks about health care for all - when he said "The people need to have a relationship with their doctors" - I'm paraphrasing here - I cannot remember every single time he put his foot in his mouth - which is every single time he opens his mouth - isn't this wonderful - he's telling those people who don't have insurance and therefore don't have doctors - to have a relationship with them. How does that work?
