Yes, some Democrats in Pennsylvania's Rust Belt communities were upset by Barack Obama's suggestion that voters there "cling to guns or religion" because of bitterness about their economic lot. But many more seem to think it was no big deal-and if there's a problem it's with the political slapfest that has followed.

    I guess we will have to wait until next week to see if Obama's condescending remarks about middle America had any effect on his standing in Pennsylvania. I know he lost the one Superdelegate in Wyoming because of the remark.

      In my state of Colorado, the ultra-conservatives are DEFINITELY clinging to their guns and religion (instead of addressing the real problems) so I find Obama's statement to be completely factual from my own experience.

      Why are the Cons fighting truth so hard?

      The Neocons' and the Maninstream Media's utter fear of Obama shows how WEAK they are getting.

      They will try something desperate. We must be vigilant.

        Actually, crespi, I believe Obama was explaining why certain rural Democrats weren't voting for him when he made this statement. So your post should read that in "Colorado you see those crazy liberals clinging to their guns and religion (instead of addressing the real problems)"...Geez, doesn't make much sense that way either! lol
