National Right to Life has endorsed presumptive Republican nominee Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) for president. While McCain has not been considered the ideal candidate by most of the pro-life community, many consider him a much better choice than either Senator Hillary Clinton (D-New York) or Senator Barak Obama (D-Illinois).

April 19, 2008, 1:41 p.m.How many people belong to the Right to life? How many people belong to the NRA? How many people do not want us to cut., and run in Iraq? How many people do not want their taxes raised> That is a whole lot of people.

April 19, 2008, 5:53 p.m.This is a plus in my book. Abortion is a confusing issue but definately don't want it to become the first line choice of birth control.

April 19, 2008, 7 p.m.I can see it now rdy, women having getting pregnant parties so they can have abortion parties.
Abortions aren't used as birth control! I can't believe that there is even ONE woman on this planet that would choose to use it that way. I am almost 58 years old and i only know 4 women who have had abortions in my whole life, and the only reason i know them is because of my job, and 2 girls that lived close by me.
The average person wouldn't have abortions except in extreme cases, HOWEVER, the right has blown it so out of proportion that you would think the lefties are abducting pregnant women off the street and taking them directly to the abortion clinic. It's absurd.

April 19, 2008, 11:35 p.m.does anyone want abortion to be the first line choice of birth control?
(and please, no ridiculous replies about how leftys love abortions. cause that's just stupid. especially since so many rightys are having abortions)
if you're personally against abortion, but still think the decision about abortion and what a woman can do with her own body is up to the woman and her doctor and none of your business, then you're pro-choice.

April 19, 2008, 8:25 p.m.Quite true, a powerful endorsement. However, I tend to believe that this group would have voted for McCain anyway, if they voted at all. Overall number of voters actually swayed to change how they vote because of this? Small. Endorsements, I've noticed, tend to have very little impact in US politics.

April 19, 2008, 7:35 p.m.National Right to Life legislative affairs director Karen Cross explains her organization's decision:
"Senator John McCain has a solid voting record against abortion, and has cast 31 pro-life votes since 1997," Cross says. "He voted against endorsing Roe v. Wade, and believes it should be overturned."
According to Cross, the Arizona senator's voting record on judicial nominations also played a role in the pro-life group's decision. "In addition, he voted to confirm justices [Samuel] Alito and [John] Roberts. National Right to Life is grateful for these votes."

April 19, 2008, 8:38 p.m.Obama voted against laws that would make partial birth abortions illegal.
Without that law babies are being murdered after they are born alive.
He is a very sick man to be against that law.

April 19, 2008, 8:44 p.m.I agree but also will state that I am a believer by abiding by the constitution whether I agree or not. Changes to amendments should be by peaceful means.
It makes me just as sick when an abortion clinic is bombed.Murder does not justify murder.

April 19, 2008, 8:43 p.m.As sad as it is it is used as a form of birth control
When I was younger and dumber I dated this girl and we were talking and she said "don't worry if you ever got me pregnant you would never know I'd just get rid of it like the last times" at the moment the comment flew right past my hormone filled young boy ears but the comment has haunted me for years
