April 21, 2008, 10:57 a.m.You could really see it on the old Netscape.
Pure, unadulterated, Right-wing, burning, enraged, irrational hate.
(Incidentally, that's when I decided to return the favor.)
C-Span is good to watch when the "liberal" people call in and want to discuss but then Cons call in literally screaming epithets and saying how they WILL NEVER COOPERATE with a liberal AND WILL BLOCK THEM AT EVERY TURN etc.
It's pretty easy to see where the hate in this country comes from.
From the Republican Party and it's "friends and followers" the Fundamentalist Christians.

April 21, 2008, 11:13 a.m.I had a nasty taste of it recently with a now banned member who wasn't shy about expressing his/her or it's bigotry towards me and another member in a thread. It's getting that blatant.

April 21, 2008, 2:35 p.m.How about Obama backing his preachers hate towards whites, and America. He donated 20,000.00 to his hateful sermons last year. How about him being buddies with the bomber Ayres?
How about his buddy Farakahn? He went to Farakhan's Million Man March and Farakahan sure hates white folks.
By having friends like that shows that he supports what they think.
How about his support for killing Born Babies? Is that not the worse form of hate?
And how about all you dems backing a person with these values and poor judgement of his friends to have friends like that?
Don't think that you dems are so damn peaceful because you are not.
You support hate by stabbing people in the back.
Look in the mirror. Open your eyes.

April 21, 2008, 7:59 p.m.Nope. He didn't 'back' his preachers over the top rantings. But he did back his churches reaching out to the poor and the needing. I'm not telling you this to change your mind, because I know it won't. Don't care, really. Just giving another voice to your absurdity.

April 21, 2008, 3:14 p.m.Please don't miss the point of this article. It isn't about who hates who at netscape or democrats hating republicans. It's about specific racist hate groups growing in the US. The white supremacists are growing. A growth of 48% in 8 years sounds enormous to me.

April 21, 2008, 3:54 p.m.The Southern Poverty Law Center is also a hate group they spread lies like this article which starts out talking about Arkansas and six other states having no law against hate speech. Laws against hate speech are laws against free speech. One of these days the proponents of laws against hate speech will themselves become a victim of these laws. It never fails ridiculous and unfair laws are always used to take liberty away. Everyone will become it's victim.
Then the article goes on to say there is a rise in Nazis and other hate groups because of illegal immigration. They offer no proof of this and their biggest aim is to get folks to send them money. That is all the do, collect money and pay themselves.

April 21, 2008, 4:21 p.m.I agree with the SPLC when they state that the media is part of the cause for the growth of the hate groups. Is it untrue that Arkansas and the other states mentioned have no hate speech laws?
This will link you to their website:
http://www.splcenter.org/index.jsp
It seems to me that they are calling out racism and hate and it's hard for me to understand why you wouldn't defend them.

April 21, 2008, 3:57 p.m.No, tehranchik, I'm not a white supremacist are you? I'm a reasonable, logical thinking conservative. It's pretty easy to call names like the Southern Poverty Law Center but harder to back it up.

April 21, 2008, 4:15 p.m.So, are you going to back up your claims against the Southern Poverty Law Center?
I happen to agree with you on the issue of hate speech and hate crimes in general, but am interested in the specific lies the SPL is spreading and what qualifies them as a 'hate group'.

tehranchik
April 21, 2008, 4:29 p.m.Nor am I a supremacist wolfie. I consider myself reasonable and logical as well.
I am not in the censorship ring either----hate crimes are a different story. The article simply states the growth of the hate groups here at home---can you disprove their statement?

April 21, 2008, 9:52 p.m.That remark was uncalled for Bronx bomber. It shows that you don't have the intelligence to have a conversation without personal attacks.
If you were here right now I'd kick your liberal ass.

April 21, 2008, 11:32 p.m.Fox and greed survive in many unsuspecting places but alabamians did vote Dumya 2 out of 3 in the last election! Of course, Dems gave up even running political commercials in Alabama for the last presidential election... while the churches pushed falaciously for you know who under the "values" guise!

April 22, 2008, 3:22 p.m.One thing you can do to check out the SPLC, ask them for help to expose a hate group where you live. You'll have a hard time figuring out how to contact them and if you do you won't find anybody interested in helping. The stories they publish are old, unverified and not too factual. The SPLC only exists to collect money to pay it's two or three staff members. They are race baiters just as bad as the klan or others. I figured these things out for myself I assume you are smart enough to do the same.

April 22, 2008, 11:43 p.m.First of all Wolfie--let me apologize for the supremacist remark. It really was meant to draw you out---and it did. I've tried to catch your attention before without luck. I'm glad you finally decided to join in the conversation. I know you have something to say otherwise you wouldn't neg everything from the left.
I thought the submit was very simple---hate is growing in the US---these guys seem to watch the hate groups very carefully and have their ducks in a row in this article. I'm sorry you didn't get the help you needed from them and understand your anger---but---it really has nothing to do with the article I submitted, unless you are part of a hate group. If you know the content of the article to be false please give your verification. I really am very interested in seeing what you have.
