Politics – Jeff Stahler is editorial cartoonist for the Columbus Dispatch. Today's cartoon (April 26, 2008) is a rather humorous allusion to the original use of "Teflon President" for Ronald Reagan...
Has anyone been following the Rev Wright Rehab Tour? The spinmeisters realize that the Obama/Wright story isn't going away, so they've decided to make him look like a misunderstood do gooder.
Some marketing people think that they can sell anything.
I was listening to some talking head on TV who said he thought that Reverend Wright's "re-emergence" and comments that Obama had to say certain things cuz he's a "politician" are less than helpful for the Senator. I think that fella said that he thought the "issue" wouldn't go away until Rev. Wright stood up and said "I love America, it's the greatest country in the world". I don't know if I agree, but it was an interesting thought.
Actually, I think it was Dick Morris, come to think of it.
Everyone in America has heard the raving Reverend screaming "God damn, America" and "US of KKK" and, on, and on. He cannot take the words back. He would ruin his tape sales. He certainly isn't helping keep the black community in Chicago intact. 32 shootings over last weekend, and more this weekend. Just what has he done for the community? I notice when he retired, he retired to a white neighborhood, attached to a golf course. Nice neighbors. You don't have to dodge bullets.

Today's offering from Jeff Stahler, editorial cartoonist for the Columbus Dispatch. I think it captures perfectly a perspective held by some that Mr. Obama has managed to deflect certain criticisms and associations quite well (to date).
I love political cartoons. :)
For those viewing this submission today, you'll need to click to see yesterday's cartoon. Unfortunately, there is no link that shows each cartoon by itself. The link is to the April 2008 archive for Jeff Stahler, so it is now showing today's cartoon...
...which is also quite on target in its humor.
