FTA: "Brodkorb wouldn't reveal how he first got the notion to check up on Franken's business dealings in New York and California, but said simple searches on government Web sites delivered the goods: New York had levied a $25,000 judgment against Franken's private corporation for failing to carry workers' compensation insurance, and the corporation was in forfeiture in California."

Yeah, Al Franken: Champion of the working man and enemy of corporate American - won't even carry workers' compensation coverage. SUCH a nice guy. lol

Republican politicians and campaigns run on tabloid issues and Republican voters eat it up.

Look where that pattern got us - recession, deficit, more terrorism, less respect.

When will Republican voters realize that what matters is not politicing, but governance?

Wake up - our country and our planet need you to be mature and smart about the governernance of our country - not the nitpicky gossip issues.

An Al Franken is an answer?

OMG WTF was the question?

Better than what you guys have given us. You did this are you saying that a little more of you is what we need! You on the right are out of your minds. you did this, anything other than you is the answer!

Tax fraud and not providing mandated workers' compensation coverage for your employees is "gossip"? Buy, the lefties sure do get all hypocritical when it's one of theirs on the receiving end. They go on and on pushing falsehoods like "Bush lied" or "McCain said war in Iraq will last 100 years." But put some real meat out there about Obama or morons like Franken, and it's all "gossip." Never mind there is a long, proven paper trail and factual documentation.

well, turns out that franken actually overpaid in NY and MN thinking those were the only two states where he had to pay taxes.

so he will pay the back taxes in the 17 states where he didn't pay and will get credited for overpayments in NY and MN. sounds like an honest mistake but we'll see how the voters react. I'm sure lots of people on this board simply won't believe his story.

as for McCain's 100 year statement. no one thinks he said we'll be in a 100-year war. but he actually was a.o.k. with the US having a military presense in iraq for the next 100 years. which no one wants and which we can't afford. so, like it or not, it was a stupid thing to say and he is clearly out of step with america.

and bush lies are many. here's an easy one: bush got on nat'l TV and said that his admin was not conducting warrantless wiretaps. then just three days later we found out the bush admin was indeed conducting warrantless wiretaps. see how easy that was? and there are many, many more.

McCain said 10,000 years. Make something out of that!

Hey no fair using facts to defeat their argument!

All they have is Al Franken making an honest mistake, but they ignore Bush and all of his criminal acts against all americans. The criminal acts that should be talked about are his changes to our constitution but I guess Frankens taxes are more important?

When will Democrats understand they cnnot field tax cheats while they contemplate raising my taxes. Al Franken wasn't even a funny guy, and he was stupid when he was on the air. Democrats think because they hate the President, and Republicans they can field the most inept people, and we will still vote for them. No, we won't.

avatar
Reply

Why not? You have been doing so for at least 8 years and maybe for 28 (since Raygun). You would vote for a flip-flopper who cost the american taxpayer $600 billion (McCain) in the first of his several corruption cases?

avatar
Reply

And Democrats would vote for Charles Manson if he promised them some Welfare goodies. They do not want us to look at Sen Obamas character, judgement, or credibility in case we find him lacking in all three. There has to be more to a candidate then flowery phrases. He has a paper trail. Check it before you vote.

Al Franken has paid more income taxes than you, your parents, and all of your aunts and uncles put together.

But after extensive research we've discovered

he also has a zit on his ass, so he could NEVER be good for America..right??

You'd never look to his accountants, lawyers or insurance agents because even though he has been responsible for employing over 300 taxpaying legal Americans, we GOT 'EM on that $25,000 masterplan of his..

$70,000 in "back taxes_..??

That means he must have paid 20 times that amount in "on-time taxes"..I file for delays too..does that make me a crook???

Once again, you people are so hateful you can NEVER see the big picture. It is a shame!

Well, something good is coming from this..I'm sending him a $1,000 donation TO START!

avatar

They have him for not paying proper taxes in 16 states, he didn't just forget, he didn't pay taxes, or worker's comp, or health insurance. He is a crook. But he fits right into the Democrat party. He will not be elected Senator, he is more crooked than most.

"Al Franken has paid more income taxes than you, your parents, and all of your aunts and uncles put together."

Sounds like a highly prejudicial comment to me. Apparently, he didn't pay enough.

"Once again, you people are so hateful you can NEVER see the big picture. It is a shame!"

Yes, shameful you are so full of hate. I'm betting Dick Chenry, George Bush, JOhn McCain, etc. etc. all paid more taxes than you, AL Franken, and all your relatives combined. But, what the hell does that have to do with anything? ZIPPO!

I'll wager this: none of them failed to provide workers' compensation insurance ;)

Speaking of hate: That book Franken wrote had a title emblazoned full of hate.

So you care to discuss one of the Keating Five??

Al Franken never shot anyone while quail hunting, evaded a draft, took money from keating, or sent young Americans off to die in an endless shooting gallery..

Ok, Ness, you got Capone (I mean Franken) on a tax issue!

Maybe he'll be Republican about it and get a "Scooter" to fall on the sword for him..You know, the Barney Fife-like bookkeeper..

Can you EVER deal with the issues that are killing America:

Oil prices, the Iraq War, the falling dollar, job losses,

education decline, deteriorating infrastructure, bankruptcies, foreclosures, inflation and the rest of the mess, or does it help you forget about those things by

obsessing with irrelevant gossip that still leaves our real problems un-discussed?

Enough smoke screens already. You people have been enough of an obstacle.. Get out of the way. We have much to fix!

" Oil prices, the Iraq War, the falling dollar, job losses,..."

Yep, things really improved since the Democrats controlled congress.

"obsessing with irrelevant gossip that still leaves our real problems un-discussed?"

You mean smoke screens like quail hunting, accusation of draft dodging 40 years ago, or a CIA outing investigation into a crime that never happened?

Yeah, there are people blowing smoke alright...

avatar
Reply

No, I mean the arrogance of being in the highest office in the world and doing nothing to help solve our struggles..

THAT is NO smokescreen!

While we suffer, they golf and hunt quail, and probably play the fiddle!

You still lead the blockade to holding them accountable.

You have sided with American traitors.

They are not done doing their damage and you're not doing anything but enabling them..

Don't we constantly hear that the rich don't pay enough in taxes???

Not only does Franken not pay enough, he evaded paying!

Guess there are different standards for Democrats!

avatar
Reply

Only YOU use the term "evade". paying "back taxes" is a common practice after audits. "Evading" is a felony, but I imagine that you have had a lengthy career as an IRS attorney, so we should believe YOU instead of the legitimate story??

Not more than my aunts and uncles.

Zit on ass is too much information. If he disclosed that I wouldn't vote for him.

300 unemployed by him now (Air America).

$70,000 is all they've found yet. How much did he take under the table.

Yes.

Look at yourself!

He will lose it for you.

If your aunts and uncles paid more than $8million in taxes it speaks volumes for why you constantly support the heartless minority of wealthy people who would rather see the poor eat their own children than be offered an opportunity for a decent wage and some dignity.. To you people all unions cramp your style and have forced you to pay a fair price for American products while you now go out and buy cheap Chinese products..You hate the middle class because you think if they weren't so lazy they'd be rich, and if you're not rich it's the poor people's fault for taking all of your tax money...Your America and George Bush's America have no conscience and have vastly removed us from being able to claim to be the greatest nation in the world..GREATEST nation?? For crying out loud we can't even provide health care for our children and our seniors can't afford to heat their homes.. The system needs a change, even while you people keep saying "let them eat cake".

Perhaps Franken's mistake was not to be as corrupt as the religious right and the bushies. These things have to be kept out of sight.

The Right's America-Hating Preacher

Politics â;; Conservatives blasting Jeremiah Wright look the other way when their benefactor, Rev. Sun Myung Moon, denounces the US. It's not news a viciously anti-American religious figure has invested billions in financing US conservative movements and put fat wads of cash into the pockets of many prominent Republicans, including President Bush's own family.

That's a great story, Hyperbola, but don't expect these Moonies/Christians to read it. They don't even realize they are Moonies. ;-)

If Mccain attended his church, got married there , baptized his children there, and claimed Moon as a spiritual advisor---then its comparable. Do you get the difference?

avatar
Reply

Well, it is a different extreme right-wing religious group, but McCain has exactly the same kind of corruption issues.

Zionist Mobsters and John McCain

Politics â;; McCain's Career has mostly been financed by jewish mobster money. He is married to the daughter of a member of the jewish mafia. His family has a long tradition of doing Israel's bidding, even to the point of covering up Israeli attacks on America.

So its all about the Jews, huh?

avatar
Reply

Well, let's put it this way - the majority of American jews are fed up with the zioncon extremists and their treason to both america and israel.

For Israel's Sake, Moderate American Jews Must Find Their Voice

Religion â;; Radical zionist political associations have embraced the most right-wing figures of American politics from Rick Santorum and Trent Lott to Tom DeLay and George Bush - all in the guise of being "pro-Israel." Enough. These extremists don't speak for me or the majority of American jews and they endanger Israel.

So you just like revolving door corruption by zioncons?

QinetiQ Goes Kinetic: Top Rumsfeld Aide Wins Contracts From Spy Office He Set Up

A Pentagon office that claims to monitor terrorist threats to U.S. military bases in North America -- and was once reprimanded by the U.S. Congress for spying on antiwar activists -- has just awarded a multi-million dollar contract to a company that employs one of Donald Rumsfeld's former aides. That aide, Stephen Cambone, helped create the very office that issued the contract. ...

If you weren't so anti-literacy (to help make our President look literate) you would realize that NOWHERE did it say that he was "not paying taxes"...It said he was ordered to pay $70,000 to two states in "back taxes"..Do you know the difference?

BACKtaxes means after his accountants and auditors went over his finances, and numerous tax returns ALREADY paid to numerous states AND the IRS he owed an additional $70,000...

Do you need to have it drawn in crayon..

You may be jealous, but Al Franken has paid over $8million

in federal and state taxes since 2000..

So, apparently you're just a foolish wannabe?

what have you got against the rich??

I'm taking $1,000 from my oil oompany subsidy money and sending it to his campaign. He deserves it more!
