Gen. Sanchez: Iraq policy driven by Bush reelection politics

Politics – Lt. Gen. (ret.) Ricardo Sanchez, who commanded coalition forces in Iraq in 2003-04, made headlines last fall when he described the Iraq War as having been "catastrophically flawed" from the start and called it "a nightmare with no end in sight."

right, support any officer, no matter what his record, who agrees with you, but resort to name calling against any that don't. Way to support the troops dropkick.

"Every American has to understand that wars are fought based on political objectives,"

Well, duuuuuhhh!

Fully 80% of American deaths in Iraq are for the enemys' purpose of affecting the American political process.

...why repugs just think the political issue is just the level of profit while others feel it really is life or death, healthcare of not, education or not!

Donald, the issues to me really are life or death, healthcare, education... as well as energy policy... and the U.S./world economy (of which profit is an integral part, for without it, economies would not function).

I think we can all agree that the rise of economies around the world is a net positive for all, including the U.S. The dark cloud to that silver lining, however, is that the recent world economic boom is built on carbon-based fuels, specifically oil. As such, the world economy is overwhelmingly dependent on the unfettered and constant flow of oil. Quite simply that unfettered and constant flow of oil is dependent on Pax Americana... which is why Iranian nukes are important, why we have boots on the ground in Iraq... and why removing those boots is to invite disaster on many levels. These simple facts inform me as to what the most important issues are, and which presidential candidate understands and can respond to them the best.

The best thing to do is vote every Republican out of office. They won't learn to listen to the people until they are out on the street.
