What John McCain Told Me, and What it Says About How Far…

Politics – At a dinner party in Los Angeles not long after the 2000 election, I was talking to a man and his wife, both prominent Republicans. The conversation soon turned to the new president. "I didn't vote for George Bush" the man confessed. "I didn't either," his wife added. Their names: John and Cindy McCain.

what was left out?

mccain has broken the rules about campaign contributions and matching federal money.

he kissed the hand of rev. hagee and got away with it.

and he may not qualify as an american citizen.

what's even worse is that the general election campaign hasn't even started yet.

Actually, the general election has begun. This go-around, it's called the Democratic Primary. John McCain (D-GOP) does not have the stomach to oppose his true soul mates. He will come out after the RNC swinging...in the rain...on a lampost...umbrella in hand.

The very idea of McCain mounting an aggressive campaign for the White House is nonsensical. Exhibit A: when the NC GOP used an ad telling the truth about Rev. Wright, they were attacked...by McCain! But Howlard Dean released an ad lying about McCain's "100 years in Iraq" line, did McCain step up to his own defense? Nope...the RNC had to step in to take exception.

Enjoy your election, Dems. Republicans are clearly sitting this one out.

Hagee endorsed McCain because of pro-life and pro-Israel; McCain renounced the radical stuff. This is completely unlike Obama's 20 year long close personal relationship with his spiritual advisor and mentor.

Your remark about citizenship is imbecilic at best, since those born abroad to two US citizens have been defined by Congress as "Natural Born Citizens" since Washington was President.

Your comments about campaign violations echo Howard Dean and are speculative, at best.

Do you work for Jane Fonda or the DNC? Attacking a war hero. Anyone knows that Hanoi was the hottest target for air attack in military history, with the most powerful defenses against air attack ever developed up to that time. You don't have to like McCain or vote for him but don't lie about his record like this.

Hey, Kerry was in the same war, but the swiftboating republican liars and cowards drug him through the mud.

They drug him through the mud cause he jumped into the mud hole with his lying 1971 testimony.

Kerry's damage was 100% self inflicted.

Right, Kerry and his three-month tour of duty. He barely had enough time to unpack his dufflebag. My wife's father did three tours of duty there, one for every month that Kerry was "in country".

lmao.

You make Kerry sound like a mix of John Wayne and Chuck Norris.

In Kerry`s 1.5 years on tour, he was awarded three purple hearts, two medals for bravery under fire, and yet you cowards attack him. You are anti-american, and anti-military if there ever was such a thing.

Kerry is credited with 20 kills. If he were only in Nam for three months, he should have gotten another medal for highest kill/day average in the entire war. And Kerry did not kill from thousands of feet away, he was face-to-face and he was the first one to jump into the thick of it.

Kerry is a true hero as the official Navy record and the testimony of those he served with prove beyond any doubt, McCain is a HINO, he lost five planes, got shot down for killing people from afar, and the Vietnamese saved his life but he still is such a racist he calls them gooks.

You still do not know a hero from a sandwich.

"he was in the process of bombing a light bulb factory when he was shot down"

Uhmm Behind use your head. Why would the N. Vietnam have SAM sites protecting a "light bulb factory"

Did it have "light bulb factory" painted on top of the building? Like "Baby Milk Factory?

Arianna, the gift that just keeps on giving!

So, yes, by all means, "consider the source."

So does this "revelation" McCain didn't vote for Bush in 2000 support or under cut the Lefts McBush mantra?

Bush3 or what ever clever "saying" they come up with.

Considering that Bush is a about 30% how does this "revelation" hurt McCain?

What does the Kerry/McCain 04 VP conversation really tell us?

With 70 million registered Democrat's the couldn't find one (1) qualified to be the VP and help win the election?

Okay, true enough, they were right on that one.

Proof is they lost with Skippy (d) as VP.

So once again Thank's Arianna!

This will be as helpful as that tape recording you posted with Obama stating that dems in PA (before he lost that state) were a bunch of gun totting bible thumping bigots!

Hagee didn't say anything that was not true.

There is no doubt that McCain is an American.

No rules were broken.

Obama is a racist America Hater.

I'll take McCain any day over him.

So will America.

You mean the part about Catholicism, the largest denomination in America, being a bunch of ******s is true?

Or America being the land of Satan is true?

Plz be more specific.

Also, which one of the above did McCain agree with more during the year that McCain spent begging for Hagee`s endorsement?

How about that 30 plus year relationship with the Moonies? Are what the Moonies say about America and Americans the `truth` too?

The article is providing pretty clear factoids that McCain decided after 2000, to throw away the ambition of being an honest and consistent politician, if he was going to win.

It uses the word 'Shakespearean' to describe his fall, but does not suggest which play.

I would go with Macbeth.

Here he stands, a sad old sailor with no wind in his sail!

Cindy is smart! She had him sign a pre-nup so that he can't touch her millions!

The article was right on track. I think a fair word to describe John McCain is that he is a panderer, which means, according to the Merriam Webster online dictionary: to act as a pander; especially : to provide gratification for others' desires.

I think there use to be a time McCain was not a Panderer, but it was long ago. Today, the man wants to be President so bad, he would pander to the devil himself if he thought it would get him elected, and I, for one, think he has.

Uhmm news flash ML2007

to provide gratification for others' desires is a job description for a politician ANY politician OR Public Service.

If fact ML2007, when a politician OR Public Service does not provide gratification for others' desires they get fired, or if they decide that there own gratification is more important than the general public the go to jail.

injest, So, according to your understanding of the definition, Monica Lewisnky was properly pandering to Bill Clinton. And Likewise, Bill can properly pander to Me, you, or any other person because it is his duty as a politician. Maybe John McCain ought to make that kind of pandering available to any male in the US that wants to be gratified. BTW, you aren't a politician are you, maybe you can pander me. I think I now see what you mean. Thanks.

Now where Bill and Monicas actions "for the general public" or personal gratification?

Well, Bill could have invaded a country that never attacked nor threatened us to relieve some stress. Being prez is hard you know.

avatar

He was a philanderer before a panderer.

His sleezing around on his first wife Carol was infamous in Navy and political circles.

But the moment he found an attractive, wealthy bimbo 18 years his younger, McCain threw the mother of his three children under the bus.

McCain intends to appoint judges that will not only continue the assault on the constitution and our rights, he has admitted he wants to overturn Roe vs Wade. Another of those government knows better about your body and your choices than you women do elitist policies of the ultra-RW.

WOW a new level of clueless ness!

"Who owns the radio stations Gush Lamebaugh broadcasts on?"

The folks that PAY Rush Limbaugh for his syndicated show.

"Who tells the fat oxycotton addict what to say, and who signs his checks?"

Uhm Rush OWNES his show, he doesn't get "pay checks". He has contracts with the folks who pay for his shows.

"Gush Lamebaugh is given his air time by who?"

Giving? Wow. No one is "Giving" him anything. Advertisers PAY to have their commercials on HIS show

" Who owns Gush Lamebaugh?"

Rush Limbaugh

avatar
Reply

Who pays Gush Lamebaugh?"

Oh it just hit me! You're an Air America listener aren't you?

True Air America had to PAY stations to run their programs. In the real world that doesn't happen.

Air America had Soros PAY broadcast stations to run their programs. So long as Soros was paying the bills it didn't affect local stations, but once Soros was done paying Air America failed because they had garnered a listnership that could support operations through advertisements.

In other words those who listened to Air America had no money and didn't by things.

Who wants to pay for air time if they can't get that money back plus profit? No one.

The Huffington Poat? Please! Isn't she the broad that was married to a Republican homosexual guy, and she didn't know it? How do you not know? She knew, but he was rich, and she needed his money. She never accomplished anything in her life on her own. Even if McCain didn't vote for President Bush, he won twice without his vote. It would be nice if we had a better choice for President, but we don't, he is the man.

Hey Arian, Give John a break! He is a war hero to many of us and as far as I'm concerned, I don't know many people left who would admit to voting for George W. the draft dodger and friend of big oil. We'll be lucky to have any economy left after he leaves office.

I think it is pretty lame of many of the people on here to support McCain as a `war hero`.

First of all, where were you people when the same Rove/Bush political machine attacked McCain`s POW experience in 2000?

Where were you when the same Rove/Bush machine attacked Kerry`s heroism in 2004? Kerry is a genuine hero who save American lives under fire when other fled, according to testimony of the officer who Kerry saved. You attacked the military, all vets, and especially all purple heart holders who got shot but did not require hospitalization. As if Kerry were the only guy who got lucky.

We`re all still waiting for your apologies to Kerry, albeit we`re not holding our collective breaths.

Geez, this from the same people who drank kool-aid for an AWOLer too. No wonder this country is going down the tubes.
