Politics – The results are now in hand. The latest CBS-New York Times poll indicates that Obama's support has held relatively firm in spite of the provocative statements of Reverend Wright. The majority of Democrats are now satisfied with Obama's handling of his former pastor.
"This is for all the doubting Thomas's! lol....
"They shouldn't believe everything they think! lol"
You most certainly shouldn't. Might surprise you but lots of us want Obama to get the nomination, which he still hasn't secured and won't at least until the DNC in Denver. See, most of us know Obama will not win the presidency. He is all talk and zero substance.
I would say that you are a lot like what you claim Obama to be, because you are all talk and no substance, but there is one major difference. You were wrong before and you are wrong now. EAT CROW!
Hillary was the best hope America had after Bush - but the cult of Obama has won out - McCain is as presidential as my garbageman this is a sad day for America - neg me as much as you want , but read this again in about 2 years, if you can afford to turn on your computer.
Ol' John may be as presidential as a garbageman but he is going to be president. Ol' John McLame is going to beat the democrats so bad it's going to be total humiliation. Obama can't win and you know it.
You can neg my comment a million times but it
won't make any difference as Obama can not and will not be elected President. He can't win you know it and the rest of us do too. LMAO
Wolfie, the repubs are scared of Obama, which is exactly why Rush has been trying to get repubs to register/vote as dems for the primary and get Hillary nominated so McCain would stand a better chance in the general. Where have you been? Maybe you need to clean your ears, wake up occasionally or dig your head out of the sand. You're as out of touch as McCain.
"Wolfie, the repubs are scared of Obama,"
N2N - I don't think much of Obama beyond his rhetoric & I'm scared of him & I'm far from being a repug
Are you comfortable with the way things are right now?
Frankly, if i thought i would have to spend another 4 years with the way things are right now, i may sell out and move to Canada or South America.
Nothing, and i mean nothing can be any worse than putting up with a man who conspired with his brother to steal the Fla delegates in 2000, and subsequently have himself "appointed" president, only to take us down the toilet. After this fiasco, nothing any politician does scares me, we've been through the worst.
NTN you said-
Are you comfortable with the way things are right now?
If that is in response to my comment about being scared of Obama - you must be blind-
Did you ever see me post anything that was in the least bit supportive of Bush? Don't think so.
As I have stated many times I support Hilary & would sleep much better knowing she was there for that overworked phonecall
ace,
Well, all I can say is that I wish you would give the populist a chance before dissing him.
His heart and mind are in the right place, and if elected, it will come down to his leadership skills. We know/believe Hillary can get things down, but the doubt with her comes in not knowing if her heart and mind are in the right place. She voted for the war, attacked Obama over total BS non-issues, and now is caving in to reward the oil companies with a summer-time gouge handout. At the same time, she is doing the right thing in pushing for a windfall profits tax. Her positions are all over.
Same with healthcare. Thats not universal healthcare, thats univeral insurance, which will be a boon to the insurance companies but wont do a thing to reel in costs. Insurance companies add roughly 25% more onto the costs of medical care over medicare.
Hillary is ok, but Obama is great!
On the contrary, Barack Obama will win in a landslide against John McCain.
Georgia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi...Obama won every southern state except Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee with the Texas vote barely going to Hillary Clinton and the caucuses going to Obama.
All the "blue" states that went to Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004 will most certainly also go to Obama. But so could many of these southern states.
Aceofspades, I am serious about this,... I feel your pain. You like I, are emotionally invested in your candidate as well as simply in agreement with stated policy. I was outraged at some of the tactics used by her campaign strategists a while ago as you know (We exchanged P.M.s about it). But have stated since that I would support Senator Clinton if she were to be the nominee. Why? because their stated policies are 90% identical.
Differences are in Foreign Policy, and health care approaches (re- healthcare-not terribly different, nuances.)
As a local councilman said to me, "frankly the policy is that of the Democratic party espoused by both of them, it doesn't matter to me which one carries the torch".
Since both economic policy statements are in fact identical, I'm not sure Obama can be blamed if we can't afford to power our computers in 2 years. Though the republican economic policies certainly can. I have a preference over who carries the torch as do you, but getting that torch delivered is far more important than who carries it.
(Hey, the guy who drives the garbage truck has a made in China flag pin on!)
No matter what personal beliefs anyone has about the candidates, in the end, who will allow McCain to carry on the demonstrated failures of the past? Who would do this?
Best wishes,
Radio
Hi Radio,
Miss seeing the rest of the guys here ...regardless of the DNC candidate the choice has to be the Democratic Party winning the presidential race.
But I truly believe from my military experiences & the missions under POTUS #42, that the Cabinet they assembled was second to none in the history of the United States. As a CEO with a successful international company, experience has shown that it's the staff that determines the successful achievement of company goals.
In brief, looking at both teams ...the one that shows experience to cope with the current & near future environment would have to be the Clinton party. Logic dictates that the Clinton configuration is the only one that can show that it has a former star player on board, who has actually been there & done it.
Tiredofwhiners said "Obama is as presidential as my shoeshine boy".
That is not a racist remark.
It is a deep, pathetic whine about unfairness.
A young black person gets to be a Senator, a best-selling author, a grammy winner, the center of a politcal movement?
Some people have all the luck.
Even Obama's shoes are shinier.
Ase - are you saying that Obama, who is going to be president will do a bad job at it? You sound like the GOPers before Clinton took office in 96. I think Obama will be as much a president if not better! I think like most people who are against a candidate, you tend not to listen to them and you jump on the negatives. I happen to have a good vantage point when it comes to Clinton and Obama, because I like them both and I am not pining for a woman or a black person being president, I am for the person that will make the best president. Based on what I have seen Obama will, take his willingness to stand against the gas tax relief, it shows me a person that is willing to see a mistake and call it that, not try to spin it, and I don't see that with the others. We will get the truth from this guy and he will cross party lines to get things done! I am no longer thinking with emotions I am using my head!
Ba- He may stand against the gas tax - but what does he stand for? He talks about all of the horrible experiences are having, but not what he would do to correct the situation.
What has Bush stood for, do you even know, does anyone? The only thing i have seen that he has done is killed many innocents in Iraq and been responsible for the deaths of many American troops, all the while padding his pockets and those of his political cronies. NO ONE COULD BE ANY WORSE!
I have to agree with Obama on this gas tax. If we start taxing Oil companies for making a profit better look out. ANYONE In business who would make a profit, would be taxed eventually. And that is the American way to strive to do better. Why be punished for it?
OH BTW Obama did vote on this gas tax deal three times in the past. DADGUM, You don't think he's trying to pull a fast one . DO you?
And the policy failed, as Obama stated many times.
Obama`s opinion is the voice of experience and reason. The other two are trying to pull cheap political tricks to entice the gullible.
When Obama voted to suspend the oil tax, the oil companies did exactly what the critics and realists like myself predicted they would. They jacked up the price to make up for the reduced taxes. The oil companies pocketed the difference, and the tax payers got stuck paying the taxes anyway, only they had to pay higher gas prices up front, and pay interest on the borrowed money to make up for the loss in revenues.
Obama - voice of reason and experience.
PS. The `Greatest Generation` avoided shirking the debt for WWII onto their children and grandchildren with a 90% windfall profits tax. You don`t think windfall profits taxes work? Talk to history about it.

Even more importantly, the early voting results in North Carolina suggest that Obama will carry that Southern state decisively. According to analyses from North Carolina's political experts, Obama is trouncing Clinton via a new and unanticipated surge in black turnout that was almost certainly triggered by the massive MSM overreaction to the stage-managed appearances of Reverend Wright.
In a nutshell, the Reverend Wright strategy backfired. Polls indicate that the early voting in Indiana is heaviest in counties where Obama has commanding leads. While Indiana is another "open primary" state, and Rush Limbaugh's legions of followers could effect yet another Clinton upset via Operation Chaos, it will not matter.
HAHAHAHA!
You left out the part where liberals owe Southern whites an apology.
Oh wait...liberals never apologize. My bad.
Georgia, connect the dots, at least help me to understand. If an apology is necessary, just who is it to come from and what is the issue? If you mean that Southern Whites voted for change; News flash, that is a sign of enlightenment. Not all people are swayed by media that play people for chumps. People should be insulted when media groups the uneducated as voters for Hillary in this case. Southerners are very astute, always known as independent thinkers and take humor in the silly notion that anyone has an advantage on them; I am one of them. All races and education levels are losing jobs and the American Dream. Despite the media non-sense, Obama is very sensitive, no way condescending in his message for all America. We need each other at this time, and open minded people will prevail. I thank everyone who is on board with saving this nation.
I am a white southerner too, people like Georgia just need to be ignored. Thank God we're not all uneducated bigots. Georgia has Bad Karma!
> You left out the part where liberals owe Southern whites an apology.
You left the part out where Conservatives owe all of America, whites, blacks and other, an apology for being racists losers who will try any smearboat tactic to sink positive change in this country.
Real Americans see through the Neocon BS. Any candidate who is being attacked by both the Right-wing and Left-wing establishments is definitely good for middle class working America!
Go Obama!
PS. My wife and I are sending more $ !!
"You left the part out where Conservatives owe all of America, whites, blacks and other, an apology for being racists losers who will try any smearboat tactic to sink positive change in this country."
That shows how far beyond that prejudice crap you are...
Who gonna win finally?
Good question. If voters look at the websites & actually read the contents ...there would absolutely be no question. The problem is many do not.
Once the Super Delegates get their heads out of the perennial place; where the sun never shines - they'll come to the only logical conclusion can be made- Hillary Clinton.
The awesome team that Bill assembled will pale in comparison that Hillary will put together. That will not that be the case should Osama...whoops ...Obama become the Democratic candidate for Prez.
Hillary was on the front line when Bill was President ...so that is what she means when she says she is the only one with experience!!! Imagine Bill without fault.... OMG...
Remember, we really need money back in the coffers of the nation. Bill Clinton was the FIRST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA TO PUT OUR GOVT'S BOTTOM LINE IN THE BLACK. That is fact not fiction as we all know. Or not...
So the only change that is worth anything is one for the good.
He wasnt the first, just the first in the lifetimes of over somewhere around half of all Americans.
I hope the best candidate. Democracy is messy, we don't always agree. I hope Obama, but just keep the media and election fixers out of it and I trust the American people who will use their own independent judgment. If working and middle class people think about their interest, and vote to save their bacon, screw status quo, I am good with it.
