Posted by: capecoralM 3 months, 1 week agoDespite the fact that Castro announced last week that Cuba had stepped up work on 36 new oil wells in partnership with Chinese, among others, off the coast of Florida... ...Democrats blocked US firms again from drilling there! So, instead of allowing the most environmentally responsible companies to operate there and increase our domestic sup

The Democrats will have us buying Cuban oil from the Chinese, so we can keep our hands environmentally clean.
What a joke.

Which party has the Green people? Which party screams about nuclear plants, refineries, and oil wells placed anywhere?
The environmental wackos are part and parcel of the Democrat party. They tie building refineries, nuclear plants and oil drilling up in the court system over every trivial thing causing delay after delay trying to make the process too expensive and often succeed.
Then you try to make it partly a Republican problem.

The dem's have blocked every attempt for the US to become more energy independent or to flood the oil market with new supplies. Since you may be unaware of how democracy works the Cloture Rule originally required a supermajority of two-thirds of all senators "present and voting". This is used to close debate and vote on a matter. When it comes to energy policy the democrat(ic) party has blocked every attempt of the US to harvest the resources that would help ease the world-wide shortage of crude. With economies all over the world becoming more affluent the supply & demand rule (economics 101) is the leading cause of price increases.

"lt, seems to me that big oil controls your country, not any party"
How much did big oil control the country during the oil bust of the 1980s-1990s? In the 1970s, people were predicting that oil prices would rise forever. Did they?
The current runup of oil prices has all the earmarks of a speculative bubble. When it bursts, it won't be pretty.

But Congress voted again last year on drilling
VA wanted to decide if there should be drilling offshore in their area of the coast. Warner had an amendment that would have allowed this
Congress again said "NO". Congress upheld the 25-year ban they had placed on drilling in deep waters

DING DING DING We have a winner! I wanted to see how many Dems posted how it has been the last 6 years of Republican control that has caused the problems. Lets look even further back and then fast forward to this past week were AGAIN the Dems are blocking efforts to drive down oil prices.

Drilling supporters failed last year to open the refuge to the oil industry because they couldn't get 60 votes to overcome a Democratic filibuster in the Senate, although the House approved oil development. CNN
Nancy Pelosi April 26, 2006
Despite surging gas prices-- Democrats refuse to drill or develop national reserves. Democrats refuse to approve new refineries. Democrats refuse nuclear energy.
DEMOCRATS REFUSE TO ACT.
Today May 2008
Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Tax Act of 2008 remove incentives for domestic oil exploration (drilling) and will increase the price of Gasoline at the pump with new taxes. capecoralM

This is just one example of having Democrats in office.
The goal for them is to run your lives by more taxes, more government programs, more power over things like your health,
your gas supply, your cars fuel consumption, fear over the myth of global warming, no guns to resist them or protect yourselves, oh yes..and did I say more taxes???
Then after all of those "CHANGES" they go and point their fingers at the Republicans for the mess they made.
Socialism.
