What isn't mentioned is that the people that supported the KKK switched their allegiance away from the Democratic Party to that of the Republicans in 1948 and it also fails to mention that a great many more Republicans have been tied to sexual peccadilloes and verified charges of graft and corruption than any Democrat!
BS. It is EASILY documented that a higher percentage of Republicans that Democrats in Congress supported the Civil Rights Acts which passed in the 1960's. It was Democrats who fought against desegregation.
Also, Southern Conservatives who did switch to the GOP AFTER 1964 (not 1948), were told to renounce any affiliation with the Klan. Those who did not, like John Stennis and George Wallace (who finally did come to his senses in the 1980's), stayed with the Democrats.
I suggest that you check you history fella as a number of Southern Democrats switched their allegiance after Thurmond's failed attempt at the Presidency in 1948 and a number more in 1964.
If you want to go by percentage sure, but as far as the actual numbers are concerned you lose!

I see it as Republicans voting for it more so than Democrats.
Even Lincoln was a Republican and he went to war to free slaves. The reason that blacks vote Democrat is all the free handouts they can get from them at the expense of everyone else.(taxes)

Some people in this country ARE living in poverty - black, white, and more. But I'm guessing that you believe that it is ok for this country to borrow money we don't have to pay for an unjustified war instead of helping its OWN citizens.
