I can care less if a person is a DEM or a GOPer or what have you, I am about the ideas and opinions. If the republicans were doing well and the American people were doing well under them I would be for them. I am an American first and foremost not a member of a party, my thought process is liberal leaning because I think our nation prosper best when we are a giving nation and worse when all we do is take for ourselves. This group has tarnished us so much that it might take 2 DEM presidents sitting for 8 years each to fix it. I do believe to whom much is given much is expected! the Republicans say why do we have to give to others, and in the same vain call themselves world leaders, there is no good leader in a person or nation that refuses to give to the less fortunate! You don't get to ride the coat tails of our pass, if you can't measure up to it.
I agree with every word you said.I am much more of a partisan now than many years ago,and i think rightfully so.When i see the damage that is being done to our country on so many different levels i have to stay with my party and believe we can do better.
I think Dems have always had the more open mind and tried to vote for the best person, rather than party lines. I also think repubs have prayed on our open mindedness, and fed us a bill of goods in the past, of which we have wised up to, and now we have had it with them.
It's the Party of Family Values, and Christian Right hypocracy, along with catering to the nations wealthiest citizens and destroying the middle class, war mongering, then denying Vets their due when they come home. The list goes on and on, we've had enough.
I agree n2n you are so correct. This label Reagan democrats always make me laugh there is no such thing. He convince us that the USSR was the buggy man, and then talked tough to them. We all bought it hook line and sinker, what we didn't know and he did is that the soviets were not the big bad beast we all thought them to be.
They rule through and by fear. They destroy the psyche and feed off of the nations most vulnerable. I don't understand why republicans can't see and understand that. Their partisanship is destroying them right along with us, but they refuse to admit it.

I know, I visit a little town in Northern Cali. I would say about 65% of the people there are on some sort of government assistance but you wouldn't know it if you listen to them. Their dislike for the Mexican and Native Americans has clouded their eyes to the fact that when the GOPers cut benefits it effect them and their neighbors too. You visit there and say you are a LIB and before you know it the word is out an they are all trying to convert you to why the Mexicans are the reason they don't have a job. I try to tell them the reason you don't have a job is because big business shipped it abroad and they will counter with well that's not what bush is saying. What do you do after that?
Same way here. I know several young able bodied men, who WON'T work, then complain about the Mexicans who paint or cut grass taking their jobs. lol. When we know they wouldn't take a job tasting pies for 50 bucks an hour.
I have always believed in America First and Foremost before any political party and my voting pattern over the past 40 years reflects that. I choose the person that I believe is going to do the best job for my Community, State, and Nation regardless of their political affiliation!
Many of the views I hold, like those of many Americans, come from both sides of the political divide and I make no apology for holding them! It is just within the past 7.5 years that I have become more partisan in my beliefs and that, primarily, because of the actions of the current administration and the kneejerk, lockstep support of the Republicans in the House and Senate for it.
I have always prided myself on my open mind and have always believed in forgive and forget, but to me they(the Republican Party, have abrogated their responsibility and betrayed the very Constitution they swore to uphold and defend and for that there cannot and will not be any forgiveness!
