LOL

The worst thing that happened to this country was President carter. I used to believe he was just incompetent. He goes on proving he was not just incompetent but evil. He gave us Iran of today.

Endo, if you really understood history you'd be totally different from the fool we often see hereon!

Yes, sure, the 4 Carter years were dark times indeed for American. Uhm, not a war or watergate or anything interesting, but dark, dark times. Disco music and shouting in the streets.

And they say whenever Carter builds a house for Habitat for Humanity, the milk sours too fast! Definitely evil.

And his running around monitoring elections in the 3rd world gives the US the bad reputation of wanting to try to bring democracy to the masses. Evil, Evil.

We had stagflation after Ford had cut the inflation rate by vetoing every extra spending bill in sight. Carter raised taxes and spent everything he could. He put the current government in Iran in place because he didn't like the Shah. He was inept in foreign affairs making even friends angry. The list just goes on and on. Bad foreign and bad domestic. I had my best raises under him just to keep even with inflation.

We had inflation, because we were paying the bill and the interest, on nine years of war, just like -

Hmm. I assumed you were just desperatly flailing for a red herring, but you may have a point.

There is a certain connection between those long ago days and now.

Paying for the war.

Yeah what a no good Carter is. He's a goddamned peace monger. He's shown his true colors!

Yes. So peaceful he put Iran's present government in power. They returned the favor by taking the embassy and holding the personnel captive for as long as he was president.

He currently goes to terrorists and talks with them. He lays a wreath on the grave of another terrorist. This despite the FACT that these terrorists ONLY avowed aim is to wipe out the Jews.

He's shown how much he hates Isreal!

"He's shown how much he hates Isreal!"

All he's shown is that he doesn't buy into the dogma pushed by RepugnantCons that Israel can do no evil. Try reading his book instead of watching FOX's review of it.

I did better than that, I lived through his administration. He's a loser and his foreign policy was a dismal failure. The term "malaise" was coined in his honor.

...at least over a million humans didn't die just because "Sadam tried to kill my Daddy"!

One million is a suspicious number arrived at through methodologically flawed survey.

You dipshit! The Iranian government was taken over by force by supporters of the Ayatollah Khomeinei!

Hell! No wonder you have no credibility if that's the best you can do!

avatar

Um, no, Endoscopy.

Ronald Reagan's secret deal with Ayatollah Khomeinei to trade arms for hostages is what gave us the Iran of today.

LOL

The Ayatollah Khomeinei was living in exile in France until Dear Jimmy helped bring down the Shah of Iran and put Ayatollah Khomeinei in power. He returned the favor by taking over the embassy and holding the embassy people as hostages. You seem to forget your history. The embassy people were returned within a few of days of Reagan taking office. No time for a deal.

There is PLENTY that shows Reagan was making promises to the Ayatollah while the election was winding down, while insisting he shouldn't release the hostages until AFTER Reagan took office. Do you really think it took only a few days to negotiated the hostages' release?

Here's just one link:

Aside from that, do you remember Iran/Contra? The hearings in Congress under which Oliver North was convicted of trading arms to Iran, unbeknownst to Congress, contrary to U.S. law?

Perhaps YOU need to study up on your history.

You need to study facts not fiction. Those stories were debunked but live on in the hearts of the true libs. You must keep the faith in spite of facts.

DEBUNKED?!?!?

You're obviously impervious to truth. But just keep telling yourself you're right, even when faced with incontrovertible evidence. It's okay, the world really is flat. We are at the center of the universe. The solar system revolves around us. And Bush is looking out for your best interests.

Forget the hostage situation, though you've offered absolutely no evidence to show it's been debunked as you claim.

Let's talk about Iran-Contra. Who debunked this and when?
