Bill Moyers: Every American should have 'Cheneycare'

Politics – "You don't need me to tell you that 47 million Americans are uninsured, and it's not news to you that medical costs are increasing faster than the rate of inflation, or that more Americans than ever are afraid a single major illness could bankrupt them," says Moyers.

More from Moyers:

"It's little wonder that when the Gallup poll asked people on the eve of this election year to name the most important thing that can be done to cope with health care, 63% mentioned universal coverage."

AND

The CNA's executive director rues the "double standard," saying, "There should be an excellence in care that applies to all people. We, as the public, pay for Dick Cheney's care. ... Why is the government not providing the same type of care to all Americans?"

You have to love Bill. He makes everything he says sound like it is a Bush thing. Actually I would love to have Cheney Care. However you have to be a politician to receive Cheney Care or the one term GOLDEN retirement system. These are obtainable only for politicians (ALL POLITISIONS). It's not a Bush or current administration thing, it is a political thing.

I suppose we feel vaguely sorry for the uninsured;

but Americans with insurance don't realize they are not safe either.

So many catastrofic things are not covered; and there are so many ways and incentives for care to be denied.

The HMO's do not make a profit by signing checks.
