You can't even think. We have had troops in Japan and Germany since WW2 and Korea since the end of the conflict there. They scream if we even think of reducing the level much less withdrawal. They like the money the troops spend.
All the above comment is, is an American newspaper clipping of a Ron Paul statement of what McC said and of course lips negs it as he is such pillar of what a con is, out of touch
What nonsense is this? Japan, especially the folks of Okinawa, is tiring of American military presence in the country. And while they do undoubtedly help the local economies wherever they are positioned, there is certainly no "screaming" when possible reductions are being discussed.
But more importantly, it is utterly ridiculous to compare the context within which American troops are in Japan or Korea to the situation currently pertaining in Iraq.

Okay. Japan, Germany and Korea had people with whom we could negotiate a cease-fire, and who could enforce it.
Who would we talk to in Iraq to end conflict and agree to keep a force there that's not in any danger?
