Another lie...post a link to a direct quote from Gore or go back to your sewer. You people seem to think you can make up things that were never said but you freak out if you think anyone is misquoting McCains 100 year statement...yep we're dealing with a bunch of 5th graders alright.
I will post a direct quote to Al Gore saying he invented the internet as soon as you post a direct quote from John McCain stating that it is he intention to keep the Iraqi war going for 100 years.
It's the same thing. Your justification for saying it and using quotes is that you "know" (my quotes, for emphasis) what McCain's intent and context was for what you presented as a quote and the quotes were justified because many others on propeller and elsewhere had already quoted him that way.
That's exactly the argument that those who keep repeating that Gore claimed to invent the internet use to justify THEIR misquote.
The comment, "go back to your sewer" is totally hostile and uncalled for. I didn't insult you, your living conditions, your intelligence or your character. I just asked why one misquote is okay, but the other is not.
That's his whole point...that your misquote of John McCain is similar to those who misquote Al Gore about the internet. Al Gore absolutely did say "I took the initiative in creating the Internet." That is quotable, I CAN put quotes around that phrase. It's right here:
Based on your logic, I could put quotes around "I took the initiative in inventing the Internet" because it was my opinion that he meant "invent" not "create". Silly. Just like your misquoting of McCain.
I like his comment about the world ending in 30 years. Even funnier is when he said "It's true, and I have been trying to tell people this for 30 years."!!!
I like this part of the quote..."I took the initiative in creating the Internet." Slippery, slippery, slippery is the "...I took the intiative..." part. My understanding of the situation is that the internet had already been invented but Gore and other politicians and interested businessmen established a 'political-economic environment' conducive to the 'growth' of the new technology basically for Govt and business purposes.
More accurate would be that Al Gore helped create the predecessor of the Internet; but that don't make him sound like an idiot,so NeoConArtists will NEVER agree on that...
so, then it's okay to say that Al Gore claims he invented the internet.

McCain never said 100 years of war and I never said he did, and Gore never said he invented the internet...is that clear enough for everyone?
And anyone who seriously claims that Obama doesn't know how many states there are belongs in a sewer because they're flinging shiit.

This is what Gore actually said:
"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

Awesome, that is one of my favorites!
