They tacked this on to a bill trying to sneak it in just like they did last year with the Dream act.

If this AG amnesty bill is so good for the American people why sneak it in on the back of the defense bill?

Possibly to force Bush to veto it. Or, maybe she found yet another way she and her hubby can profit from war spending. She got caught red-handed before.

Bush won't veto this

He supports amnesty

The only hope to defeat this is on the Senate floor

If this AG bill is so good for the American people why sneak it with the defense spending bill? Good question for Nancy and lovable Larry. Sorry for the double post, my propeller got stuck.

I have spent lots of time today on numbers.com sending E mails, If enough folks would do the same this fiasco might be nipped in bud. And next election VOTE FOR NO INCUMBENTS. Get them the hell out of DC before they get filthy rich on your tax money......

I agree realizer. I have called, faxed, passed it along. That's all we can do. This should prove these jokers that call themselves politicians will say whatever it takes to get elected and then do exactly what will benefit them. They are all the same for the most part.

They can amend it later to remove the amendment made in the committee. Also, the bill has to be approved in the same form by House and Senate, so there is a long, long ways to go before it sees the light of day.

Keep your powder dry ...

Do you really think the Pelosi House will object to this??

Even if removed on the floor of the Senate, it can be reinserted in committee

I hope you have luck with this and manage to get it stopped, the one thing that I think that has to change down there is the adding of items to bills, I don't follow things to close but it seems that nearly every bill gets things added to them, to me this just doesn't seem right.

It's not right like you said canadianrancher57, but come to think of it when has US politicians done the right thing for the American people? Realizer has the right idea vote them all out, vote for NO incumbents. This years candidates is pretty pathetic. I have heard more people say they do not care for any of the 3 and this election year will be voting against rather than for anyone.

"I don't follow things to close but it seems that nearly every bill gets things added to them, to me this just doesn't seem right."

That's why some people like myself favor the president some day having "line item veto" power so he can sign a bill but veto stupid amendments and provisions. Lots of governors have line item veto power.

Even if the line item veto existed right now Bush wouldn't use it on this one

He supports amnesty

Yes he does, and that is very disappointing to many Americans that are concerned about our security, our jobs and our culture.

Any politician that supports any form of amnesty needs to be run out of town on a rail!

Thanks for the heads up RRJ!

Senator Byrd is right on this one:

"No matter how one characterizes it, this enormous amendment still amounts to amnesty," said Chairman Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.). "I oppose amnesty. All these immigration issues should be addressed through the regular order.'

He may be old but he does 'get it' on amnesty.

Thanks Red, I need to email this to everyone I know and call the switchboard. Wonder why the media hasn't picked this up yet?

I don't like sneaky people! Congressional leaders are suppose to be working for us, the American People, not for people who are breaking our laws!

I hate sneaky people too, like houseMD said if this is so good for us, why sneak it in?

Thanks for the heads up, Red. I called my two senators who will most likely ignore my call as usual. I think one of my senators must have given Hillary that story about duck hunting. For years every time I would write to her about a 2nd Amendment subject she would send back a letter detailing how she supported the 2nd Amendment because of her memories of duck hunting with her father. I finally wrote to her that I was tired of the duck hunting story and the 2nd Amendment wasn't about duck hunting. It worked, I never again received a return letter from her mentioning duck hunting again. I guess she read it. lol

think about this,

Senator Feinstein owns many farms and vineyards, she also owns resturants. All of which use illegal immigrants.

Now if she can't get some sort of amnesty bill passed, she stands to have to pay her employees more and carry insurance on them. Senator Kennedy has hired illegals before, remember him getting in trouble because he didn't pay social security on his maids? The picture is most of these senators who want amnesty, own farms ,they get millions every year in subsities from taxpayers and the pay cheap for wages to the illegals. They know how to use the system.

I suggest you call them and tell them that Come election time, You may not vote for the person running against them but that you can Campaign against them........ This worked for me this last year. They need to be reminded they work for us, the citizens. We are not their employees...They forget this sometimes, Just remind them.
