Danger: Tough Talk and Wishful Thinking

Politics – If the American people should have learned one lesson from the past seven years, it is that the careless mix of tough talk and wishful thinking gets good people killed - and pushes even powerful nations to the brink of bankruptcy.

Regardless on how one sees this conflict, what I find missing from all discussions, is how much longer can we actually continue pouring dollars into the M.E. before we, as a country go broke, and all what that implies.

The old Soviet Union had the fortitude to leave, before it impaled itself on the sword of national bankruptcy. The possesion of that wisdom is still questionable here at home.

I hate the idea that in the end we loose, not because we are inferior in armed forces, but because we will have run out of money to fund our forces. I believe that threshold is approaching like a runaway express train, and in its wake there'll be nothing but poverty, famine, serfdoom, crime, hunger and memories of what once was.

Its time to stop, take a step back and really evaluate what we are doing, without listening to politicians. Its time to take our responsability serious, in voicing the direction of the nation, regardless of political leaning, gender, color and religion.

My advice to Americans is to consume only bottled water. I think it must be obvious by now that some evil doer is slipping some pretty nasty stuff in your drinking water.

No, the evildoer is Bush, and his accomplices are the millions of the gullible and stupid, plus those who worship at the feet of authoritarians, like the story "sinker" here, Mr. Rhodente.

"So, more than five years into the war - with more than 4,000 American soldiers dead, tens of thousands maimed and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed, not to mention total war costs estimated in the trillions of dollars - Sen. McCain is now dusting off the prospect of a glorious outcome if the voters only buy in for another four-plus years."

And for that to happen, Americans must again be seduced by the wetdream of world domination. It would be just, wouldn't it, if only the supporters of that fantasy, the "evildreamers," like Mr. Rhodente, would be the only ones to suffer the aftermath of such folly and delusion. But we're all stuck on this airliner in space that Bush and his neo-con/repug criminal gang have hijacked. We can only hope that, like those on Flt. 93, the passengers of this cosmic flight will rise up against their hijackers, best of all worlds, slap them with their just due.
