McCain tried to distance himself from the Keating Five disgrace by championing ethics reforms. Sadly he has fallen so far, he is unrecognizable from his former self. I personally believe his swiftboating in 2000 by the Bush cabal, rather than inciting a willingness to fight such evil has instead beaten the man into submission. He has turned to the "dark side". It would be hard to find a more influence peddling politician in 2008 than McCain, with an almost endless trail of lobbyists and narrow special interests directly involved in his campaign.
McCain seems pretty polished at delivering the bacon to his contributors. Doesn't it go all the way back to the Keating Five?
Straight Talk Express, what a joke.
