Poor Green Mac. He forgot all about the multitude of terrorist attacks perpetrated under Clinton's watch and wants to see them reborn under Obama. Not to mention the many futile military actions ordered by Clinton and the failings of Clinton's alleged Middle East policies as well as Carter's.

Sorry, Green, but your thought-challenged rhetoric scores no points here. McCain holds the best promise for success in the Middle East and a successful conclusion for Iraq.

If you think so.....but you thought Bush was the answer.....I didn't...therefore, based on that, I guess my post would be closer to being correct

''Sorry, Green, but your thought-challenged rhetoric scores no points here.''

besides the rude opening line, it scored a point with me

y'all should break it down and forget party and fealty

what has been gained by Bush's foreign policy, and what has been lost

compare the Euro and the dollar

the price of gas

world standing etc.

now what have we gained?

are we being made safer here on the mainland by sending troops to die in foreign lands? is that it?

well, that presupposes that we'd just be attacked here anyway, so why not send our youngsters over there to get killed

the problem with that is those post 9/11 deaths we are preventing here?

they are conjectural, hypothetical, NOT REAL

the deaths we are ensuring with occupation of foreign lands?

they are REAL

we are preventing POSSIBLE deaths with REAL deaths

getting people killed to keep people from MAYBE getting killed

drinking water to prevent drowning

but anyway, nothing I say matters. I've no illusion about that. I only saw one guy change his mind about Iraq and the WOT on here, a guy named Froggy57

people's opinions are pretty much set in stone

a person can argue someone to silence or insults, and if they really like their opinion, they'll keep it

Just one comment - the price of gas.

You think it's high? It's $7.50 in U.K. Even people with money are driving 1000 cc cars and only when necessary.

Unemployment is low, tech jobs are aplenty.

I have no complainte - I ride a Trek racing bike to work - no gas cost for me, and I have invesments in oil out in Arizona.

No complaints here.

Gas is $1.30/liter here in Canada... Thats $5.20/us gallon. Its pricey but we have been there before. We make do. I can see real estate in the burbs taking a hit if the price does go a lot higher in the next few years.

good for you-literally

riding a bike is excellent cardio

tough when the weather is bad tho

---

the price of gas is high for here in the US

I never said anything about worldwide, tho since I post a lot I may have wrongly assumed people know I'm an american

and you have to understand that part of our pre-Iraq pitch here was something about gas paying for the war or something

who remembers

---

as for 'just one comment'-make as many as you like

how am I gonna find out I'm wrong if people don't tell me?

---

as for high gas in the UK and elsewhere, maybe 'we' should get together and figure out another alternative, instead of watching these huge corps glut themselves on our money and carve up the Middle East?

actually, that's more like 7.50 Euros which is almost $10/gal.. and that was in January in Munich... 1.45 E per liter -- about 7.80 Euros per gallon -- wow! that's even MORE than $10/gal.

In 1974-75 during the first oil embargo, gas shot up from $0.28/gallon to about $.65/gal, nearly half of the minimum wage. Today, minimum wage is $7.40/hour and gas is $3.65/hour, or nearly half of minimum wage.

Still, though it definitely hurts the wallet.

I guess what I was saying is that the U.S. is just joining the rest of a lot countries in paying a lot for fuel.

I've been told by people from Britain that people ride bikes in U.K. and Europe looong distances, and drive only when necessary. Hard to tell since I haven't been over there, but we here in the U.S. have had low fuel prices for so long that we assume that they always stay that way, even if everyone else in the world pays more.

I guess it's going to me more of level playing field from now on.

Bully for you! I am disabled and I must rely on my car for transportation. I am on a very low, fixed income, and I don't appreciate being robbed at the pumps.
