He minds when they say his middle name in a context that somehow suggests that his middle name makes him something he isn't, like a Muslim or a terrorist or a former dictator of Iraq.
What Senator Obama is saying is that some people may be encouraged by his middle name just as some seem to be put off by it. He's suggesting that using that leverage as a way to reach people isn't a bad thing. And it isn't.
so, let make sure I've got this right. When citizens of the US "somehow suggest" that he's something he's not (a muslim or radical sympathizer) that's a misuse of his middle name and racist, but when HE (or a radical terror group from overseas) uses his name to imply he's something he's not (a muslim or radical sympathizer) that's just good sense and good politics?????
No, that's not what I said. I said that when a person stands in front of a crowd of people and talks about terrorists and Muslims and terror and fear and hate America and terror and Muslims and Iraq and terror and Muslims and Iraq and then says, "Look at my opponent, Barack Hussein Obama. He wants to hold talks with Iran.", it is suggesting that Senator Obama is something he most certainly is not.
What he said was that because of his name it might be easier for some people to relate to him that were not from the United States, simply because it would make them more comfortable than meeting with the guy from "American Dad".
That's what I said and that's what Senator Obama said.
So, then what should he have called him ---Jim Smith?
That's actually kind of funny.

It's expressing a hope that Obama gets shot.
