      whats going on here?

I thought Iraq was lost, the surge a failure, and the country on the verge of civil war........

"She welcomed Iraq's progress in passing a budget as well as oil legislation, and a bill paving the way for the provincial elections in the fall that are expected to more equitably redistribute power among local officials.

"We're assured the elections will happen here, they will be transparent, they will be inclusive and they will take Iraq closer to the reconciliation we all want it to have," said Pelosi. She also met with Iraq's parliament speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker and Gen. David Petraeus, the top American commander in Iraq."

        Pelosi calls Iraq a 'failure'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said twice Sunday that Iraq "is a failure," adding that President Bush's troop surge has "not produced the desired effect."

"The purpose of the surge was to create a secure time for the government of Iraq to make the political change to bring reconciliation to Iraq," Pelosi said on CNN's "Late Edition." "They have not done that."

Pelosi introduced the Early Treatment of HIV Act last summer.

Pelosi's husband owns between $250,000 and $500,000 stock in Johnson & Johnson, the company that markets the anemia drug Procrit used by HIV patients and others with anemia. Procrit is manufactured by Amgen, a pharmaceutical firm based in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

          CNSNews.com:

In addition to the 28 separate contributions Pelosi received last July from Amgen employees, seven other contributions were made by executives in the months of July and August, for a total of $30,050 to Pelosi's re-election campaign.

Also, Amgen's political action committee gave Pelosi's campaign a total of $10,000 last year.

Who is this woman, and what has she done with our Damascus Rose? We were at a party for a young Marine last Friday, and he said our media is lying, that there is no comparison between what we are shown, and the reality. The respect they are shown by the people they have saved. If Damascus continues to say nice things about Iraq, we should check her alcohol intake. She might have a seizure. Democrats have staked their whole 08 election strategy on failure in Iraq. If she has to acknowledge success now the party will split wide open.
