Politics – At least some members of the much-touted crowd of 75,000 people at a May 18 rally in Portland for Barack Obama may have been there, in part, to see a popular local band that normally opens its concerts with the national anthem -- of the former Soviet Union.
By not mentioning the band, Knight says, the media has been able to avoid a well-known fact about The Decemberists. "You'd think the media would find it interesting that a presidential candidate had a band open for him that typically plays the Soviet national anthem, the song that celebrates communism in Russia," Knight says. "But the media has taken no interest in it."
Why am I not surprised?
They also play the Cuban anthem at their shows. While playing a show here in Atlanta a while back they took the time to tell the crowd that they all needed to vote democrat along with them bashing republicans.
Is there any guess as to why Barack chose them to play at his speech?
Side note, *the band is apparently huge in Oregon and draws crowds nearly that large every time they play.
*This according to Tim Andrews Producer of the "Regular Guys" show and fan of this band.
Say it isn't so, a band that rallies nearly 75,000 people to hear the Soviet, and Cuban Anthem was the star of the Barak Obama Oregon political rally? And the Democrats want us to pretend he is not a Marxist? What the hell are they thinking. Do they even know this guy? I bet they didn't want us to know that about him. Did he put his hand over his heart for the Soviet Amthem? How about the Cuban one? He discusts me.
Too late to pretend he rallied all those people in Oregon to hear his marxist message, some went to hear his band. I sent everyone in my address book this information, and asked them to send it to all their friends, and on, and on. There are still people that think this guy is like any other Democrat, he is not. I bet they are just finding out some of this information about him and will soon have buyer's remorse.
he is the teflon candidate, he can do no wrong because nothing or no one can make anything stick. if it's like this as a candidate imagine how it will be if he is elected President. No one will be able to disagree with him and most certainly can not be critical. The race card will be drawn so fast it will make you dizzy if you think to do either.
